Most recently after 18 months at Cambridge United, he left the club to hang up his boots to pursue a different career in football. He speaks about all this and much more in the next 35 minutes. Interviewing Ryan Bennett-Clarke for my Guardian column - about something else entirely - we got talking about envy. And what he had to say fair blew my mind. What is envy? How does it differ from jealously? Where does it come from and how does it manifest? If you've ever left a person feeling like little bits of you have been taken away, well envy may be the answer. We talk about how envy feels, why people get jealous or envious, how it's on the rise with social media; and we also talk about some nifty ways to 'interrupt' envy. How to answer back to those barbs. I found this one of the most thought-provoking episodes I've ever done and I have to admit I looked at certain people in a different way. Dare I say this is life-changing? While some people may think that to be a successful entrepreneur you need a college degree or an MBA, this simply isn't the case! Ryan Bennett has found great success in the trades with his business and now he's sharing some great advice for how to interact with your employees and grow your company. You'll learn all about finding what your employees are best at, why you need to communicate the opportunities for advancement within your company, and how to find more time for you to work on the business.   Takeaways: You don't need an MBA or even a college degree to be an entrepreneur and be successful! There are many great opportunities in trades and they have openings in the many vertical layers that support the entire business. As an owner, you need to find what your employees are best at doing and utilize them in ways that personally and professionally benefit the employees while also benefiting the business.  Your employees need to know that there are more opportunities to learn and grow available to them within the business. One way to find what your employees are really good at is to work side by side with them. Another way is to communicate with them and ask what they really want out of their career. When a new employee is coming in, make sure they know that whatever task they start out doing is not the only thing they'll ever do. Show them how to do other tasks and show them you are willing to teach them to do anything they are willing to learn. As an entrepreneur, you need to allow your employees to solve problems on their own, without your involvement. While they may make mistakes, they need to learn from the experience and will never be able to if you try to solve every problem by yourself. Put aside time every day to allow yourself to think outside of the box and get in touch with mentors.   Links:  LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/ryan-bennett-ba248622b/ Company Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/cliffstonecorp/ Company website: https://cliffstonecorp.com/   Quote of the Show “You've got to show that you're willing to teach them anything that they want to learn and push them to grow. I am a High-Performance Coach, Author, and Speaker who guides people to be more intentional in their lives, businesses, and teams through my proven method of intentional growth. As a former ESPN Academic All-American, I decided to channel my competitiveness from baseball to business by founding a startup company in Silicon Valley. After a few years of iterations and modest growth, I became a statistic when I had to shut down the company. As I reflected on that experience, I realized that in the same way I developed myself as an athlete--to be a high performer on the baseball field, I must apply that same method to become a high performer in business. Unfortunately, it took a failed business to figure that out. From that experience, I developed a formula for growth called the Intentional Growth Model™️.Around that same time, I was asked to be a founding team member of a tech startup company again. I applied all that I learned from my previous experience to help make this company a success. Over 7 years, we intentionally built the company from just an idea into a successful, venture-backed brand with Fortune 500 clients.Taking what I learned about high-performance intentional growth, I wrote a book based upon the growth formula and now get to coach people on how to reach their full potential to teams, businesses, and people across the Country. My business (the Intentional Day): www.theintentionalday.comMy Instagram: @ryan.intentionalday

Today's guest is Ryan Bennett, who developed a method called The Intentional Growth Model to help people reach their full potential.   Ryan's profile includes being an ESPN Academic All-American, founding member of a tech start-up, high-performance coach, speaker, and author of The Intentional Day.   But these titles didn't come easy. With the competitive fire leftover from collegiate baseball and a freshly printed degree in hand, Ryan set out to Silicon Valley to start building his business empire. But after a few years of iterations and modest growth, Ryan had to close his startup and label it a failure.   This was the start of his rebuilding journey. He eventually traded the remote for a book, late night drinking for early morning coffees, and a storyline of failure for a life of personal growth.   There are a lot of goodies in this conversation, including the 4 major elements of The Intentional Growth model, why he believes SMART goals don't work, how to build your coalition of growth partners, and much more.   This episode is perfect for people who find themselves setting New Year's resolutions with nothing to show by February 1st. I hope this episode gives you the framework to change that narrative.   Show Notes: [9:40] An introduction to the Intentional Growth Model [13:09] Why SMART goals don't work [22:20] A simple tactic on how to be a better listener [26:34] The important difference between a task and a discipline [35:05] How to find the right growth partner [47:22] Ryan's birthday ritual   Favorite Quotes: [13:58] “Goal setting by itself just focuses on the outcome. But the problem is the outcome is just the scoreboard. We can just be in the game and wish we will win.” [19:58] “Am I good enough for the wife I want to marry?” [40:29] “When we share that win with someone, we get to live it all over again.” [45:52] “I probably won't hire anyone unless they have a failure on their resume.”   Mentions: Wooden on Leadership by John Wooden OUR MOMENTS Couples: 100 Thought Provoking Conversation Starters for Great Relationships The Intentional Day E-Book   More of Ryan: Website: www.theintentionalday.com Instagram: @Ryan.Performancecoach   Follow Justin & The Sandbox: Website with Show Notes: https://justinpeters.co/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/justinleepeters/ YouTube:https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC0yHxQvHpSdx_gJiQJpVCIQ?view_as=subscriber Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/the-sandbox-with-justin-peters/id1496701179?fbclid=IwAR26mTFgNRnMCdJjzA4FHTT6MvLKkuqGbx3rWm7J7UBM8ERVIiIV1Baj0IY Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/701hEq4AKxseYuY79xjpSJ

Ryan Bennett of Create! Graphix Talks Corporate and Vehicle Graphics on Driving Business Faster Ryan Bennett, Owner and Operator Create! Graphix CREATE! GRAPHIX – EST. 2017 Yes Create! Graphix was started in just 2017, but don't let that fool you. Owner and Operator, Ryan Bennett, has been in the graphics industry for more than ten years, and another ten years of experience in corporate sales and customer service. In 2005, Ryan began working in the graphics industry for a large screen printing company as a sales representative selling apparel and jewelry to buyers across the world. This sparked an interest in the industry, and he later started a small company selling t-shirts, stickers, and other band merchandise to local musicians. After a short span of doing this on his own, Ryan went on to work for a good friend who took him under his wing and showed him the ropes in the large format printing industry. Over the next 8 ½ years, Ryan continued to learn what the industry had to offer him, and build relationships with many good and long lasting clients who have also become close friends. After many years of being the production manager of this company, he felt that he wasn't growing in his position and a felt a need for change,so he left the company to pursue another field in the graphics industry. Throughout the next several months of his new business venture, Ryan's personal client base continued to grow, so he decided to take a leap of faith, and create a graphics company of his own. With more than 10 years of quality experience, he developed a vision of how he would run his own business. Ryan brought this vision to life, and launched Create! Graphix. With high quality standards, one-on-one customer service skills, and personal communication with his clients and projects, Ryan has created a new company in the graphics industry to provide a premium experience from start to finish. At Create! Graphix, we strive on building relationships. We don't just want your one order to send you on your way.
