R. Kelly's daughter, Joann Kelly—known by her stage name Buku Abi—has come forward in a new docuseries with shocking allegations that her father sexually abused her when she was a child. The claims, detailed in the two-part series Karma: A Daughter's Journey, allege that the abuse occurred when Abi was 8 or 9 years old. Abi recounts the traumatic experience of waking up to her father touching her and describes the emotional struggle she faced for years in processing the event. According to Abi, she was too scared to speak up about the alleged abuse initially, not even confiding in her mother, Andrea Kelly, until two years later in 2009. After revealing the incident to her mother, Abi and her siblings stopped visiting R. Kelly following his divorce from Andrea. Abi shares that the abuse had a profound impact on her life, changing who she was and leaving her with lasting trauma. Despite filing an anonymous police report years later, no legal action was taken due to the delay in reporting. Abi expresses her frustration in the documentary, feeling as though her efforts to speak out had been in vain. R. Kelly, who is currently serving a 20-year prison sentence for unrelated child pornography and enticement charges, has denied the allegations through his attorney, Jennifer Bonjean. Bonjean claims that similar accusations from R. Kelly's ex-wife were previously investigated and found to be unsubstantiated. These new allegations come at a time when R. Kelly's legal appeals have been exhausted, with the U.S. Supreme Court recently declining to hear his case. Abi's accusations add yet another chapter to the ongoing controversy surrounding the disgraced musician, providing a deeply personal perspective on the impact of his actions on those closest to him.

In this episode, we chat with Andrea Kelly from Make Plus Equal. For years, Andrea faced challenges in finding outdoor gear that catered to her body for various adventures. Tonight's special guest is Andrea Kelly, skip of Team New Brunswick and bronze medalist at this year's Scotties Tournament of Hearts that was held in Thunder Bay Ontario. Andrea gives us a quick description of how curling works and how many players are on a team. In 2005 Andrea and her junior team won the provincials and went on to the nationals that were held in Fredericton, the support Andrea and her team were getting was incredible. Her team played in the finals against team Alberta and with the help of a wonderful shot and some extra sweeping, they ended up pulling it out and winning the gold medal, amazing. They ended up representing Canada that year at the World Juniors in Pinerolo, Italy and ended up winning the bronze that year. We talk about how the team has changed over the years and how life sometimes just happens. Having good dynamics and really enjoying each other's company helps in having a good quality team and we chat about that. This year was Andrea's 10th time representing New Brunswick at the Scotties and next year is going to be her 11th and we have all the confidence in the world in Andrea. Andrea Kelly is a comic, actor, producer, manager, and one of Bill's oldest friends in Los Angeles. By that, we mean he's known her for almost 15 years, about the same amount of time he's been doing comedy. Andrea first met Bill when she was working as Jamie Masada's assistant, then as a manager for Laugh Factory Management, which has since been dissolved. After getting fired for making unintentionally doxxing half the comedy community, Andrea began a new path as a comic herself, which has since led to producing films with Paul Sorvino, Michael Rapaport, Chazz Palmentieri, until finally going back to her roots as a stage actress, where she is currently performing at the Beverly Playhouse. Andrea's story is interesting and inspiring, and PERFECT for the NEW YEAR -- a testament to the fact that you can always start over- and that you have the rest of the life to figure out what you're doing.....ENJOY! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/the-after-laugh/support

On Monday morning, the controversial R. Kelly released a 19-minute record titled “Admit It,” on which he dismissed his longstanding sexual abuse allegations. Well, R. Kelly’s ex-wife, Andrea Kelly, has responded to “Admit It” with her very own remix. Find out what was said and what the crew thought?? Thanks in part to the #DoTheShiggy dance challenge, "In My Feelings" jumped to the top of the Hot 100 chart. Drake's third smash of 2018 returned to the #1 position for a second week. Drake actually owns 10 of the top 13 spots on that list. "In My Feelings" and "God's Plan" both broke unto the tally in 2018. "Harlem Shake" has two of the biggest streaming weeks of all time. In related news also, Ella Mai reaches radio charts milestone not seen since Beyoncé in 2012. Billboard reports "Boo'd Up" currently tops the Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop, Adult R&B Songs, and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay charts. This makes the British national the first woman since Beyoncé (“Love On Top”) in 2012 to pull off the triple win. BIG congrats to both Drizzy and Ella! For ALL of those Insecure fans, like it or not, there are a lot of changes coming to Insecure season 3, and the latest revelation will have those in the #LawrenceHive a little upset.
