Matt and Ryder love The Brutalist! Corbin thinks it's fine. We talk about it! Topics: codings in the text, the question of a broad anti-oppression reading vs. a zionist one, and the life of an artist, which sucks ass. Corbin reccomends TWO MOVIES currently in theaters. Ryder reccomends "Different Trains" by Steve Reich. Matt reccomends "Blueprinting" by the Aizuri Quartet. Next week's episode will be the beginning of a new series, DIGITAL FRONTIERS, a history of the early days of Digital Cinema. Our subject will be "The Celebration" by Thomas Vintenberg. Watch it here.

Send us a text*** Episode is Actually Only 1hour & 40minutes Long ***We are going back to look at "House on Haunted Hill" from 1999 & 1959 respectively. So join us as we watch two very different movies with the same name and plot. We cannot wait.Do You Remember Liking This Movie?

The actors strike is over, finally. But the repercussions of the labor action will likely be felt for at least the next few years and two fabulous movies are about to open up at the theater.
There are TWO MOVIES out about the A-Bomb and about two amazing Physicists who created them. One is Oppenheimer about Robert Oppenheimer and the other is A Compassionate Spy about Ted Hall. In this episode, Harvey and Jim discuss and reflect on Oppenheimer and then they will introduce you to A Compassionate Spy by the name of Ted Hall. You have probably seen the first and never heard about the second even though both are getting great reviews, both involve the creation of the A-Bomb and both reflect on the dilemma of conscience of these two men that worked on it. This is truly fascinating. We also honor Sinead O'Connor.
Eric is back with Jason to talk about the films of Japanese master Masahiro Shinoda, this time talking about Double Suicide, The Scandalous Adventures of Buraikan and Sharaku. All three are good films, but one of them is a classic, one of the finest films of its era as well as a cracking good film noir. Join the guys as they debate, twist and turn these movies to get a clear view into greatness and what it means to fall short. Great or near-great, Shinoda is always worth a good talk. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/jason-sacks/message

Kneel before pod! Hot on the heels of last week's Superman livestream, Earth's Mightiest Critics return for a look at both cuts of Superman II!Years ago, WB put out an alternate cut of the 1980 sequel, comprised of original, alternate, and unfinished scenes that were more in line with what director Richard Donner had originally envisioned. The result is a bizarre "Tale of Two Movies", both centered on Superman's rejection of his powers at the precise moment a trio of Kryptonian criminals arrive on Earth with domination and destruction on the brain! In this spoilerific round table review, we look at the pros and cons of both films, and debate which version deserves to wear the cape!Superman: The Movie was recently released by WB Home Entertainment as part of a 4K UHD Blu-ray box set of the 1978-1987 films.Show LinksWatch the Superman II trailer.Support all of Earth's Mightiest Critics at their various outlets:Check out Mark "The Movie Man" Krawczyk's The Spoiler Room Podcast.Follow David Fowlie's film criticism at Keeping It Reel.Get educated with Don Shanahan at Every Movie Has a Lesson…...And Film Obsessive...and the Cinephile Hissy Fit Podcast.Make Nice with Mike Crowley of You'll Probably Agree.Keep up with Annie Banks at Chuck Load of Comics....and MoviewebKeep up with Jeff York's criticism and caricatures at The Establishing Shot. And stir things up with Will Johnson of the Cinephile Hissy Fit Podcast.Subscribe to, like, and comment on the Kicking the Seat YouTube channel!

On this "second helping" of your new favorite podcast, The Corn Corner, Cam Damage and Wicked Wren sit down to discuss a pretty hot topic. Movies. We recap a ruckus PPV from this past weekend, running through a card of near misses and big time makes. Huge clutch moments throughout the card, culminating in a head kick for the ages, and our picks from the weekend performed ably. We give some shine to some GC fighters on the come up, specifically with Will Breslin, one time guest of the show (Ep. 14), fighting for Stellar Fights this weekend. We keep it light this week with UFC off this weekend. Tucker also offers an account of his current training, some PT work, and the never ending grind. As always, conversations flow, laughs are had, and cheeky inside jokes throughout. A TR classic!

Courtney Lanning gives us two new movies worth watching. One, the Unforgivable, is a serious drama with Sandra Bullock. The other, 8-Bit Christmas, is a holiday comedy.
In this episode, Mr. Lafayette discusses two movies that his students in both Street & Practical Law I & II viewed in classes this week. The movies are 12 Angry Men, a 1957 classic that brings viewers into the jury room where 12 strangers who heard testimony during a six-day trial now have to decide on the verdict with the 18 year-old defendant's life swinging in the balance. This was shown to Street Law I classes since that course focuses on criminal law. Street Law II students were shown The Verdict a 1982 movie dealing a negligence trial set in Boston where the plaintiff is one Deborah Ann Kaye, a comatose young woman who was the victim of doctors' negligence. Both films compliment the two courses perfectly showing students the inner workings of jury deliberations and the nuts and bolts of a civil jury trial. Join Mr. Lafayette as he highlights both films.
In this weeks episode Meghan and Jacqueline think you're gonna like the Harry Potter film series. After all this time? Always.

Louis C.K. has done another thing. He did the thing a few weeks ago, it turns out. But this week the thing appeared on the internet, as things do. And so The Nose, as it does, must cover the thing. And we've gotten to that part of the year where all the awards-season movies all come out at once. (I guess it's called... "awards season"? Huh.) But then the rest of pop culture keeps keeping on at the same time. Support the show: http://www.wnpr.org/donateSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
