This week's episode is sponsored by MC Design Academy. MC Design Academy is designed to be a space where I get to share my expertise with you, where you'll get to learn all about visual merchandising, design, display, retail, and everything in between. Come along as I practice my craft and be sure to like, subscribe, and follow our socials to keep updated. See you in the merchandising land of MC Design Academy!Melissa Hesse doesn't have a degree in art, but somehow, she made it her career. She started at Z Gallerie back in 1993 as a part-time sales associate while going to college. Melissa then spent the next 14 years there, holding almost every position possible, but she always found the art department her home. After six years in the stores, she moved into the corporate office and spent the next eight years in the art department as the Merchandise Planner and Assistant Buyer. Melissa would help select the artwork for over 70 stores. She went on buying trips and worked with publishers and wholesale framers on new merchandise for the stores. Fun was the best way she could describe her experience at Z Gallerie, where she met lifelong friends. After 14 years, Melissa made the leap to Third and Wall Art Group, which was a vendor she had purchased posters from. She's been with Third and Wall for almost 15 years and was recently promoted to Creative Director. Today, Melissa services a small number of accounts, which helps her keep a finger on the pulse of her clients' needs. At Third and Wall, Melissa and her team can customize artwork to fit the scope of any project by changing color, creating pieces, or cropping existing imagery to fit a certain size. She's always amazed at what the creative team can do. Melissa's a Southern California native raised in the San Gabriel Valley. She's a mom to two amazing young men, Jake (22) and Zach (21) and she's been happily married (ok, not all day every day, but most days) to her husband of 25 years, Bill. Her kids call her an 'Art Editor' and, in some ways, that might be the most accurate description of what she does.Michelle and Melissa discuss her journey from Z Gallerie to Third and Wall Art Group and how she curates custom work for her clients. They talk about how Melissa works with merchandisers and retailers to help tie their vision together. Melissa also shares insights into her process, how she curates custom looks for stores to help them stand out, and much more. What's Inside:How Melissa and her team work with clients at Third and Wall. How Melissa works with merchandisers and retailers to tie their vision together. How Melissa selects submissions from artists.Mentioned In This Episode:Third and Wall WebsiteThird and Wall on TwitterThird and Wall on InstagramThird and Wall on FacebookThird and Wall on YouTubeThird and Wall on LinkedInThird and Wall on Pinterest

She is a 54-year-old mother of two adult daughters, a graduate of New York University's College of Arts and Science, a former Department Manager and Assistant Buyer for Macy's East, and a former Account Manager for the Swatch Group USA. She is both a victim of, and a witness to, the violations of law, and abuse of power of officers of the court and their accomplices. Judge Culley actually took away Anna's property rights, forced an illegal transfer of $9 million of NYC real estate, and made her and her younger daughter HOMELESS and PENNILESS. Anna is speaking out and blowing the whistle on the manipulation of our courts and is doing so in the public interest and to raise a red flag about the injustices that are taking place within our court system under color of law. A victim of the violations of law of New York State Justice Anna Culley, and as such she has initiated the petition calling on New York State lawmakers to impeach Judge Anna Culley for those violations of law; for denying litigants their due process by falsifying material facts on her judgements and subsequent orders; and for abuse of office in issuing Contempt of Court orders and eviction orders for her favored litigants. New York State lawmakers need to address the violations of law of Judge Anna Culley during this legislative session AND she must be removed from the bench as soon as possible and certainly before December 31, 2028, the end of her elected term of office. The time has come for an OG! JILL ZARIN graces us with her presence on THE TAKE ON and this OG RHONY housewife gets down to business! Jill dives into whether or not she’ll come back to Bravo and where her and Bethenny Frankel stand in their tumultuous relationship. I asked Jill if she would ever join a reboot of the Real Housewives of Miami because I know we all miss Jill Zarin so much and we went deep into her opinion of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake! Everyone neeeeeeds to go check out her successful mask business with her daughter Ally and her TikTok, which has helped jumpstart her business. Jill gave us all the details on the start of their business and the new merchandise they are selling! If you’re a housewife fanatic like me this is the episode for you! More about Jill Zarin: As one of the original cast members of Bravo Television’s Real Housewives of New York, Jill Zarin is no stranger to the spotlight. Zarin, who had a major career in fashion and textiles before being tapped for RHONY, has leveraged her platform into an array of acting, business and philanthropic endeavors. Entrepreneurial by nature, Zarin is currently juggling design ventures in both home décor and fashion. While her previous licenses included Jill Zarin Bedding and Jill Zarin Jewelry, in 2016 Zarin launched Jill Zarin Rugs, the first product category in the Jill Zarin Home collection. Chic, affordable, stain-resistant and ultra pet-friendly, the rugs, which are sold at Kohl’s and Macys as well as jillzarin.com, bear names like Anguilla, Cape Town and Tribeca and reflect Zarin’s well-traveled, enviable lifestyle. Next up for the Home collection: Jill Zarin Clocks. In the apparel space, Zarin launched Skweez Couture Shapewear and Hosiery. And just this year, she co-launched Jill & Ally. The brand, a collaboration with her daughter Allyson Shapiro, sprang from a handful of tie-dyed face masks Ally created for herself that immediately went viral. After having already established Noshes for Nurses, a highly successful Go Fund Me to raise money to feed essential workers, Zarin and her daughter decided to go all in on the wildly comfy, hand-dyed masks and donate one for every one sold. To date, more than 25,000 masks by Jill & Ally have been donated to healthcare and essential workers. Noshes for Nurses is also still going strong, and has raised $70,000 and distributed 200,000+ meals to the staffs of hospitals, police stations and fire departments. A graduate of Simmons College School of Retail Management, Zarin previously held a number of executive positions in the apparel industry and is an expert in textiles. Beginning her career as an Assistant Buyer for a department store, she steadily worked her way up through the management ranks, becoming National Sales Manager at Jockey Hosiery, an $150 million dollar men’s hosiery brand. Later, after marrying the late Bobby Zarin, she consulted for Zarin Fabrics, a Lower East Side Manhattan institution established in 1936. Zarin currently resides in Boca Raton, Florida, where her home doubles as the global headquarters for Jill & Ally. When she’s not on the phone with factories & overseeing the production of the brand’s growing lineup of products (hint: tie-dye hoodies and sweats are in the works), or hiring employees for the rapidly growing, women-owned and operated company, Zarin can be found on the tennis court or hanging out with family, friends and Bossi, her beloved Pomeranian.
