Stuart Codling sits down with Filip Clereen and Ronald Vording to review a climatic Canadian Grand Prix, with Lando Norris' late hit on Oscar Piastri dominating the headlines. Included in the video is a live reaction from Sunday night from Mark Mann-Bryans and Ben Hunt from trackside, and debate amongst themselves on whether Norris should have been penalised, and whether he's cracking under the pressure of his World Championship fight. Also included, the speculation in the Ferrari camp with Fred Vasseur reported to be on the hot seat, the control in George Russell's brilliant victory, and the delays in the steward's office, with the final result only confirmed nearly six hours after the flag dropped. The Canadian GP brought chaos, drama, and just the right amount of heartbreak for Kurt and Dylan. Lando Norris looked electric—until he misjudged a bold move on Piastri which almost wrecked both their races (Kurt might still be recovering). Meanwhile, Dylan's boy Max Verstappen kept it cool and consistent, finishing P2 behind a flawless George Russell, who finally got his redemption with pole, fastest lap, and the win. A Red Bull protest tried to steal the spotlight, but the stewards laughed it off, and Toto called it “petty and small.” Oh, and Lewis Hamilton sadly ran over a groundhog—yes, really—damaging his floor and finishing P6. Tune in as the guys break it all down with energy, laughs, and just enough shade to keep things spicy.
Norris turned what was looking like a great drive into an absolute nightmare this weekend gone, so we wil be unpacking the issues that lead to that as well as looking back at a return to form for the Mercedes boys and looking at how Russell and Antonelli could be aserious threat if the car continues to perform! A little bland, a little teammate spice. Enjoy our review of the Canadian GP!
Lap 67 was the moment the McLaren boys came together. Stay calm though because it's not as nasty as it seems. Hulk is back for another handful of points, whatever they have put on that Sauber is working, the question now is.... what is it? Norris put his hand up and took full responsibility, is this the new age racer attitude or a well-managed team. And it's the premier of the F1 movie this week, are you as excited as we are? This could be one for the ages. All the plus much much more on this week's episode of Beyond the Racing Line.
F1 correspondent and F1TV Presenter, Lawrence Barretto, and 2012 GP2 champion, Davide Valsecchi join Tom Clarkson in the Montreal paddock to reflect on that dramatic collision between McLaren teammates Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at the Canadian Grand Prix. What did Lando do wrong to cause the incident? How did Oscar's clever defence lure Lando into making a mistake? And what does this mean for the championship battle? George Russell secured his and Mercedes' first win of the season, while Kimi Antonelli scored his first podium in Formula 1 with P3. Is George ‘under-rated'? What makes him World Champion material? And what does reaching such a big milestone so early on in his F1 career say about Kimi's talent and how Mercedes have nurtured him. Plus, Tom, Lawrence and Davide discuss the recent criticism of Ferrari from Italian media and what Team Principal Fred Vasseur's reaction to it says about their situation. From Montreal, Edd Straw is joined by Jon Noble and Mark Hughes to review a dramatic and eventful Canadian Grand Prix.A somewhat pedestrian race was enlivened just before the flag when Lando Norris crashed into the back of his McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri - but how much has the incident hurt his title bid? That's one of the key questions answered.Edd, Jon and Mark also discuss Mercedes' stunning turn of form, explaining why George Russell - only fourth in Spain - was able to ease to victory here, ably backed up by rookie team-mate Kimi Antonelli, who took a maiden F1 podium in third behind Max Verstappen's Red Bull. There's also discussion of why Red Bull's protest against race winner Russell for “unsportsmanlike intent” was thrown out by the stewards. The episode is rounded out with chat about Ferrari's lacklustre showing against the backdrop of mounting pressure on team boss Fred Vasseur, and the usual Race Members' Club questions section. What would happen if all 20 F1 drivers competed on equal terms in the same machinery? That's a question we tackle in the latest edition of The Race F1 Podcast. Canadian motorsport journalist Tim Hauraney joins Ben Anderson and Edd Straw to discuss a ranking list answering that question he recently put together for TSN, based on a vote of F1 journalists. That leads to a question of what constitutes equal cars and also the role of simulator driving in the development of F1 drivers, as well as whether Lewis Hamilton's ranking has to take a hit because of his difficult recent times. We also tackle the popularity of F1 (and driver Lance Stroll) in Canada, and discuss the evolution of the grand prix in Montreal, which takes place this weekend. And with McLaren having won seven out of nine grands prix, we explain why the Canadian Grand Prix might not be so straightforward for F1's dominant force despite heading into the weekend as favourite. This week on FORMULA America: F1 Podcast, Kurt and Dylan help you get revved up for the Canadian Grand Prix— where the smoke's thick, the tension's thicker, and somehow Lance Stroll is still on the grid. Yes, Stroll's back for his home race (because of course he is), fresh off his latest wrist repair job. Will he impress the Canadian crowd? Let's be honest — probably not. But we'll cover it anyway, mostly out of obligation and mild disbelief. More importantly, the real battle is heating up between McLaren teammates. Kurt's boy Lando Norris is just 10 points behind Dylan's golden child Oscar Piastri in the championship standings. Expect some friendly banter, not-so-friendly jabs, and maybe a wager or two as the tension in the FORMULA America studio mirrors what's happening on track. Also on the docket: Max Verstappen's dangerously close to a race ban with just one penalty point to spare, the Canadian GP is fighting for survival on the calendar, and we throw down our predictions and fantasy league updates (where, let's be honest, at least one of us is delusional). Tune in for hot takes, cold sarcasm, and your favorite dose of F1 chaos — Canadian edition.
After a week off, we go back to Montreal, Canada for the 2025 edition of the Canadian Grand Prix, where all eyes will be on Max Verstappen and his penalty points.

Stuart Codling, Jake Boxall-Legge and Filip Clereen sit down to preview this weekend's 2025 Canadian Grand Prix. First, they deal with the breaking news of the 2026 F1 Calendar being revealed, with six races in seven weeks schedule to close out a busy 24-race season, and Madrid replacing Imola in September. There's also discussion on Ferrari and whether they need to park their development for 2026, who could replace Max Verstappen if the World Champion gets a ban, and ask if Fernando Alonso really is F1's unluckiest driver. Former Renault driver and F1TV commentator, Jolyon Palmer, and Sky Sports F1 presenter, Natalie Pinkham, join Tom Clarkson to discuss all the big talking points ahead of this weekend's Canadian Grand Prix. Should Lando Norris be worried about the 10-point gap to championship leader Oscar Piastri? Will their rivalry start to heat up in the coming races? Jolyon explains where Oscar has the edge over Lando in qualifying and why that seemingly small lead in the standings is something the Australian can use to his advantage now. After causing a collision with George Russell at the Spanish Grand Prix, Max Verstappen is now just one penalty point away from an automatic race ban. Will the four-time World Champion change his approach in Montreal, or will he bounce back to secure what would be a fourth straight win at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve? Also on the agenda: why does Jolyon think Canada will be Mercedes' best race of the year so far? Will Lewis Hamilton find ‘redemption' at one of his most successful tracks? And should Williams be concerned after their failure to score points in Barcelona? F1: THE MOVIE starring Brad Pitt Don't miss the chance to see F1 on the big screen.
