Shoot us a Text.Welcome to Tuesday, the most productive day of the week! Today we're talking about the anticipation that Florida is facing with Hurricane Milton and how dealers and EV owners can be prepared. Plus, we see some unexpected kindness between Kia dealers and learn how Cybertruck owners are having their insurance policies canceled. As Hurricane Milton looms, Florida dealerships across Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast prepare for impact. The storm, expected to hit Category 3 by landfall, still poses significant threats.Dealers like the Morgan Auto Group and Potamkin Automotive are closing stores early and initiating staff safety protocols and storm preparation.CEO Teddy Morse of Ed Morse Automotive Group is preparing for significant damage from Hurricane Milton, expecting it to be severe, saying “This isn't a scenario where you say, ‘Wow, I hope everything's OK.' It's not going to be OK.”Morse emphasized ensuring every eligible vehicle is floorplanned, because “if they're not on the floorplan, they're not insured.”Meanwhile, after Hurricane Helene destroyed 672 of Ken Ganley's Kia inventory, Raul Gomila, GM of City Kia in Orlando stepped up, selling 100 new and 25 pre-owned vehicles to assist.Gomila, who survived Hurricane Andrew in 1992, understands the devastation and felt compelled to help, despite not knowing Ganley personally."That kind of kindness just doesn't happen," Ganley said. "It just doesn't exist. I mean, I'm blown away.”"It's the right thing to do when a store is in need," Gomila said. "Sometimes even a little help goes a long way."For EV owners, hurricanes pose a unique set of uncertainties to navigate. Whether they stay or evacuate, here's some tips to protect vehicles and keep options open.Avoid parking EVs in areas prone to flooding or standing water, as saltwater can damage batteries.Relocate EVs to higher ground and shelter, with many counties offering free public garage access.Cybertruck owners have faced multiple challenges in 2024, including cleaning their new trucks, rusting issues, and five recalls. Now, insurance complications are adding to their woes as some drivers report policy cancellations.Geico confirmed some Cybertruck owners received non-renewal notices due to the vehicle not meeting underwriting guidelines.Geico cited the Cybertruck's heavy weight and challenges with repair part availability as reasons for some policy cancellations.Issues seem concentrated in New York and Kansas, though other regions report smoother experiences.Geico is seemingly still willing to insure the vehicles under commercial plans, saying “Some customers may have received notices stating that Private Passenger Automobile insurance would not be renewed for this vehicle. However, policies for this vehicle have always been available through our commercial insurance division.”Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

The company's tagline and mission are one in the same: shining a light on the independent spirit. Ganley-Roper has a background in wine and spirits retail, as well as working in operations for several startups. And before co-founding Lost Lantern, Polonski was a Senior Whisky Specialist at Whisky Advocate. He's also a recent addition to ACSA's board of directors. Ganley-Roper and Polonski met in 2014 and left their jobs to go on a road trip that helped start their company in 2018. They launched their first product in 2020 and opened their tasting room in the fall of 2023. Along the way, they also got married. In this episode, they reminisce on that road trip, discuss their process, dive into their summer bourbon collection and much more.

Kathleen Ganley's team is fed up with Jespo talking like their campaign's cooked. They say while the former Justice Minister might not be the favourite (or the biggest name) in the Alberta NDP leadership race, she's far from out of it. She argues her case - and tells us where she thinks the Hoffman and Nenshi campaigns are missing the mark - in a special episode of Real Talk. 2:50 | Team Ganley debuts its new campaign video exclusively on our show. Ryan asks Kathleen about the elephant in the room (6:00), opposing Danielle Smith (12:20), allegiance to "The Left" (15:22), raising minimum wage (17:20), reforming the Alberta Energy Regulator (19:20), private service providers in healthcare (28:50), the Hoffman campaign (33:30), divorcing from the federal NDP (38:20), increasing Alberta's corporate tax rate (46:00), the Nenshi disadvantage (49:14), fundraising (52:10), and a rumour the ban on union and corporate donations to political parties may be reversed (54:54). 1:06:17 | Did you know Real Talk Patrons receive exclusive perks, like whiskey tastings, film festival passes, VIP election night viewing parties, and Real Talk branded socks? As far as we're aware, you can count the number of US-based independent bottlers; bottling whisky in the Scottish tradition where the distillery is highlighted/mentioned on two fingers: Single Cask Nation and Lost Lantern. Listen in as Joshua and Jason (of SCN fame) discuss independent bottling with Nora & Adam (of Lost Lantern fame). There are also a number of Lost Lantern bottlings tasted in this episode. Spoiler alert: they're some highly quaffable bottlings, to be sure! ...as usual, have a seat, have a pour, and listen in. Unless you're driving. Host Sue Stockdale talks to Howden Ganley, a New Zealander who was inspired as a child to become a racing driver having been a spectator at the 1955 NZ Grand Prix. Howden talks about how he turned that passion into a reality, ultimately competing in 41 Formula One Championship Grand Prix races before he turned his attention to becoming a manufacturer.Howden went on to found Tiga Race Cars in 1975 along with ex F1-driver Tim Schenken with the name being derived from the first two letters of 'Tim & Ganley' and being pronounced “Tyga”. Tiga constructed racing cars for various forms of open wheel racing and sports car racing, with over 400 chassis being sold. He reflects on his life and the highlights of his career as a racing driver and manufacturer. Key Quotes:'My family used to say, you'll grow out of it by the time you're 21, but I never did grow out of the love of racing.' 'Drivers today do benefit from the improvement in safety because it was stupidly dangerous in my day, and when you are young you think you are immortal.''I went to my first F1 season as the number three driver. At the end of the year I was the only one left.''I suppose I do look at them (Tiga cars) as children and get terribly frustrated when I see how people have modified them.''I mostly achieved what I wanted to, but didn't get to where I really wanted to be and that was world champion.''Sadly most of today's Grand Prix drivers, with the notable exception of Sebastian Vettel, have zero interest in motorsport history.' 'Formula 1 engines have become so efficient. Its absolutely amazing. They are now aiming for 60% efficiency out of an internal combustion engine.'The Sports 2000 Championship has been established since 1977 and features Duratecs, Pintos and Historic Pintos. Circuito urbano y lluvia a mares igual a emoción garantizada.
Host Sue Stockdale rounds up the year with Sports 2000 Club Secretary, Roger Donnan, and finds out about all the winners in the 2021 Sports 2000 Championship. The episode includes additional stories from two of the guests we featured earlier in the year: Ross Hyett (Episode 8) sharing another recollection from Le Mans, and Derek Bell (Episode 6) talks about the cars he drives now. Amanda loves to help her clients tap into their authenticity and help them discover that being true to oneself is the pathway to connecting with their higher power. Through these teachings, she has helped her clients turn the corner and accomplish their major life and relationship goals. Irish entrepreneur and businessman Declan Ganley sits down with Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne for our pilot episode of 'The Conversation'. 00:02 - Catholic Youth on Fire 08:52 - Court case against the State's restrictions on religious services 12:33 - USA, Russia and China 37:32 - Three Solutions for the Catholic Church "Lets make sure that the Eucharist is put back at the centre of everything." "If they're not called to a vocation in the Holy Orders, then I will say get married young, have kids, and bring your kids up in the faith. The family is the domestic church, it's the building block of civilization." "Families of faith are going to be the wellsprings through which the renewal comes." "Beauty is very important, especially to the uncatechised... and we're all uncatechised in Ireland now. Lets put beauty back in the centre of the liturgy. A beauty that is challenging. A beauty that requires an act of surrender." "I am a layman and I'm a bottom-rung-of-the-ladder Catholic... I have my own duty of obedience. Obedience is not easy for me. It does not come naturally. There are thoughts that I have with regard to the Catholic church in Ireland that I need to keep to myself because I have to be obedient. I can pray that they happen."
"The appeal of Catholicism to young people is that it's hard, not easy." An excerpt from Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne's recent sit-down with Irish entrepreneur and businessman Declan Ganley. Here they discuss the young people in the church today who are on fire with the faith. "The future of the church belongs to them." "If they're not called to a vocation in the Holy Orders, then I will say get married young, have kids, and bring your kids up in the faith. The family is the domestic church, it's the building block of civilization." "Families of faith are going to be the wellsprings through which the renewal comes." - Full length interview coming soon. - Visit our website: www.immaculataproductions.org - - - ---------------- SUPPORT US ---------------- Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/immaculataproductions PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/ImmaculataProctions Our work won't be possible without your help. This week, Ash Ganley, CEO of GrowRay Technologies, discusses his collaborative manufacturing R&D effort to create patented LED lighting solutions for cannabis cultivation.Ganley is the former CTO of NOBO, a small, vertically integrated multi-state operator based in Boulder, Colorado. During his time at the cultivator, he observed the fractured, isolated nature of cannabis cultivation product development, particularly in lighting, and figured that he could find a better way of doing business. Cannabis lighting lacked research and development (R&D) and efficiency, mostly because non-cannabis technology vendors were marketing to a space coming out of a pre-legal growing culture. Essentially, operators didn't know what they didn't know, and lighting manufacturers took advantage of the situation. It created a lack of trust and transparency that caused a lot of waste in the industry. Early generation LEDs didn't work because they were essentially rebranded warehouse and commercial lighting fixtures. Called "shoebox fixtures" they offered a bad form factor and a non-uniform cone of light. Early LEDs generated a flashlight effect -- too much light directly underneath, and not enough on the edge, which led to conical grows. The fixtures were also being cooled by off-the-shelf computer fans, which caused them to fail thermally. While LED technology was a hard sell two years ago, times have changed and the technology is being embraced by cultivators to increase efficiency, productivity and sustainability. Cultivators are more willing to embrace LED as well as the associated standard operating procedures (SOPs) to get results equal to or better than legacy products, with the added energy savings. GrowRay recently received a new patent for its Triangular Extrusion Shade Bar. Specifically designed for greenhouse cannabis cultivation, the shade bar delivers a uniform footprint of light. It's addressed traditional problems with shading profiles by using a highly polished angled aluminum surface to reflect light from the sun. Other manufacturers have attempted to fix the shading problem by shrinking fixtures, but that has only sacrificed light uniformity. The shade bar has been under development for a couple of years, but came about as a common sense answer to a common problem: a simple sun reflector concept that they proved through R&D at their assembly shop in Colorado. However, product manufacturing is costly and GrowRay is launching a highly engineered product as cannabis light fixture costs are racing to the bottom with companies flooding the market with poorly designed products. To remain competitive, Ganley had kept the company lean, adding strategic partnerships, and taking a grassroots style of marketing. For example, GrowRay works as a partnership with NOBO.Ganley has recently set his sights on taking a more holistic, systems approach to cultivation. Soon, GrowRay will not just be a lighting technology, but an end-to-end technology solutions provider. The company recently ran a program to look for ag-tech startups via mentorships and proof of concept tests. The result uncovered a few candidates GrowRay hopes to pull into its portfolio, be it with full or partial ownership or strategic partnerships. Still, Ganley looks to the future of cultivation, and believes that the next generation of cannabis cultivation technology is actionable data.
