Declan Ganley's company, Rivada Networks, is developing a technology that may revolutionize global connectivity and security—and it appears that the Chinese communist regime is desperately seeking to gain control of it.As much as 99 percent of global internet traffic today relies on a series of subsea fiber-optic cables around the world that are vulnerable to natural disasters and attacks. Chinese cable-cutting incidents have shown how easily they can be sabotaged.Ganley is working on something called the Outernet, a constellation of 600 Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites that would make up the world's first self-contained communications network.Unlike traditional satellite networks that route data back to Earth repeatedly, the satellites are interlinked by high-speed lasers and advanced onboard routers, making it possible for data to travel directly through space, touching the Earth only at the start and the final destination. But progress has been slow. Why? Ganley refused to partner with Chinese companies on the project.“They decided to launch a torrent, a tsunami of lawsuits that were baseless, that were unwinnable, that were almost cartoonish in their flakiness—but in the full knowledge that we would have to spend money to defend against these insane lawsuits,” he says.So far, he and his company have already had to spend $36 million to defend against a flurry of lawsuits across multiple jurisdictions.Nonetheless, he believes it's a battle worth fighting.“I know what the Outernet can do. I would rather burn it down than have the Communist Party of China have the Outernet. Our way of life could depend on them not having the Outernet,” Ganley said.Ganley was one of the very early voices warning about the dangers of Chinese technology in Western telecommunications networks: “I know how dumb governments are. I saw them implement policies and regulations that allowed Huawei and China to dominate the global wireless industry and literally deploy 5G networks in Western democracies.”“We have absolutely handed them data network dominance on a plate, and now they want this Outernet. Why do they want it? Because they want the fastest network in the world, the lowest latency network in the world, the most secure network in the world,” Ganley added.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and the guest, and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.

Episode SummaryDance artists Mele Estrella and Damara Vita Ganley join show host Jef Szi and the How Humans Work Podcast for an illuminating conversation that explores the rich terrain of their artistic work. Throughout this remarkable episode, we learn about Mele and Damara's intensive creative ethics, efforts to engender trust, dedication to playfulness, and deep curiosity about the hidden stories around them. As dedicated movement artists, they are a powerful example of how attuning with one's body, relationships, and the performance spaces acts as a cohesive force. Their craft and their commitment to the process of art is the foundation for their dance, and we are well-instructed by listening to them. In particular, we hear the fascinating backstory to their recent project, Flock. Flock intertwines animal and human migration stories with ecological awareness, showing the importance of belonging through the metaphor of “flocking.” The Dance of Belonging also explores their “Vertical Dance” Bandaloop Project. Using rope and harnesses to dance on the sides of massive objects, like granite faces or skyscrapers, this innovative dance form is a uniquely stunning display of how art can inspire wonder in all of us. Naturally, we discuss the teachings that come with encountering fear as part of the artistic path. We come to find how Mele and Damara use fear as a guide for deeper connection and support, finding confidence in creative belonging. Many thanks to Mele and Damara for helping us see Social Cohesion in action. Through their creative efforts and commitment to authentic connection, we find that social cohesion is not so much a product of external forces but instead begins with our connection to our own bodies and the group of people we create the story of our lives with.*****About Melecio “Mele” Estrella:Mele Estrella is a director, choreographer, and educator who has been with BANDALOOP since 2002. As Artistic Director, Mele brings 2 decades of practice weaving vertical dance, dance theater, somatic facilitation. and ecological belonging to BANDALOOP's dance making. Mele also co-directs Fog Beast, a cross-disciplinary group that affirms ecological connectedness in landscape, live arts and education. He is a longtime member of the Joe Goode Performance Group. Carney wholly represents the saying 'a life well lived' and there is still a lot more to come.We pick up from Carney's early beginnings as a Northern Territory Police Officer in Alice Springs - which he was not enjoying so much. A chance position opening at the outback Police Station in the remote Aboriginal Community of Kintore changed all that for Carney. Over 20 years in remote policing takes it's toll on the mind and body, and Carney does not wrap any of the truth in bubble wrap for you.Kick back and listen to the fabulous storyteller that is Carney Ganley in part two of his story.**Sadly, since recording this, Carney's father passed away. We are all sending our deepest condolences to you, Carney, and family. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
Toni had the pleasure of going on a journey with Carney Ganley who was born in the desert country, at Woomera, the rocket launching capital of Australia. In part one we will hear his story and adventures, of signing up to a course at the Katherine Rural College after his father heard a story about it on the radio to becoming a 'ringer'.He has worked on cattle stations and helped his parents run a remote road house in Central Australia. He loved the life of a tour guide, spending a couple of years going to ‘The Rock' - Uluru - and many other spectacular places through out Central Australia, Kakadu National Park and across the Kimberly to Broome. He celebrated his 25th birthday on the edge of Ngorongoro Crater, looking across the African Serengeti in Tanzania where he went for three months and stayed for twelve. A great story-teller, Carney takes us across remote northern Australia, Africa, Europe, and India before finally settling back in Alice Springs and taking a life changing turn in his career. Who knew that some great life advice would come in the form of a washing machine analogy? What a story!Kate Ganley, a girl that grew up in rural New South Wales and attended one of Australia's top boarding schools. A cheeky kid and a rowing champion, who did well at university, Kate signed tup o do a medical degree. The Northern Territory was a place she had hardly heard of and was certainly not on her planned life path, until, a short volunteering trip to a remote indigenous community in Central Australia, saw her life plans take a dramatic turn and she has been here ever since.Feisty and passionate, Kate has run in NT elections, had a stint on Katherine Town Council, organised the famous Barunga Festival and had many adventures in between. Now Kate and her husband Carney along with their children Tjak and Goldie, are running a successful tourist venture, the ‘Gorge View Bush Retreat' located on beautiful Jawoyn country at the gateway to the magnificent Katherine Gorge and Nitmiluk National Park. When visiting the Northern Territory do not go past the Gorge View Bush Retreat - with glamping tents, swimming pool, and a beautiful outdoor deck to dine at night on homemade pizza, and be enveloped by the setting of the red sun and the haunting music of master didgeridoo player Dalabon man, Manuel Pampkal .For more information log on to: Gorge View Bush Retreat : Katherine Gorge NTFollow them on Facebook and Instagram Hosted on Acast. Shoot us a Text.Welcome to Tuesday, the most productive day of the week! Today we're talking about the anticipation that Florida is facing with Hurricane Milton and how dealers and EV owners can be prepared. Plus, we see some unexpected kindness between Kia dealers and learn how Cybertruck owners are having their insurance policies canceled. As Hurricane Milton looms, Florida dealerships across Tampa Bay and the Gulf Coast prepare for impact. The storm, expected to hit Category 3 by landfall, still poses significant threats.Dealers like the Morgan Auto Group and Potamkin Automotive are closing stores early and initiating staff safety protocols and storm preparation.CEO Teddy Morse of Ed Morse Automotive Group is preparing for significant damage from Hurricane Milton, expecting it to be severe, saying “This isn't a scenario where you say, ‘Wow, I hope everything's OK.' It's not going to be OK.”Morse emphasized ensuring every eligible vehicle is floorplanned, because “if they're not on the floorplan, they're not insured.”Meanwhile, after Hurricane Helene destroyed 672 of Ken Ganley's Kia inventory, Raul Gomila, GM of City Kia in Orlando stepped up, selling 100 new and 25 pre-owned vehicles to assist.Gomila, who survived Hurricane Andrew in 1992, understands the devastation and felt compelled to help, despite not knowing Ganley personally."That kind of kindness just doesn't happen," Ganley said. "It just doesn't exist. I mean, I'm blown away.”"It's the right thing to do when a store is in need," Gomila said. "Sometimes even a little help goes a long way."For EV owners, hurricanes pose a unique set of uncertainties to navigate. Whether they stay or evacuate, here's some tips to protect vehicles and keep options open.Avoid parking EVs in areas prone to flooding or standing water, as saltwater can damage batteries.Relocate EVs to higher ground and shelter, with many counties offering free public garage access.Cybertruck owners have faced multiple challenges in 2024, including cleaning their new trucks, rusting issues, and five recalls. Now, insurance complications are adding to their woes as some drivers report policy cancellations.Geico confirmed some Cybertruck owners received non-renewal notices due to the vehicle not meeting underwriting guidelines.Geico cited the Cybertruck's heavy weight and challenges with repair part availability as reasons for some policy cancellations.Issues seem concentrated in New York and Kansas, though other regions report smoother experiences.Geico is seemingly still willing to insure the vehicles under commercial plans, saying “Some customers may have received notices stating that Private Passenger Automobile insurance would not be renewed for this vehicle. However, policies for this vehicle have always been available through our commercial insurance division.”Hosts: Paul J Daly and Kyle MountsierGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email

Irish entrepreneur and businessman Declan Ganley sits down with Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne for our pilot episode of 'The Conversation'. 00:02 - Catholic Youth on Fire 08:52 - Court case against the State's restrictions on religious services 12:33 - USA, Russia and China 37:32 - Three Solutions for the Catholic Church "Lets make sure that the Eucharist is put back at the centre of everything." "If they're not called to a vocation in the Holy Orders, then I will say get married young, have kids, and bring your kids up in the faith. The family is the domestic church, it's the building block of civilization." "Families of faith are going to be the wellsprings through which the renewal comes." "Beauty is very important, especially to the uncatechised... and we're all uncatechised in Ireland now. Lets put beauty back in the centre of the liturgy. A beauty that is challenging. A beauty that requires an act of surrender." "I am a layman and I'm a bottom-rung-of-the-ladder Catholic... I have my own duty of obedience. Obedience is not easy for me. It does not come naturally. There are thoughts that I have with regard to the Catholic church in Ireland that I need to keep to myself because I have to be obedient. I can pray that they happen."
"The appeal of Catholicism to young people is that it's hard, not easy." An excerpt from Fr. Brendan Kilcoyne's recent sit-down with Irish entrepreneur and businessman Declan Ganley. Here they discuss the young people in the church today who are on fire with the faith. "The future of the church belongs to them." "If they're not called to a vocation in the Holy Orders, then I will say get married young, have kids, and bring your kids up in the faith. The family is the domestic church, it's the building block of civilization." "Families of faith are going to be the wellsprings through which the renewal comes." - Full length interview coming soon. - Visit our website: www.immaculataproductions.org - - - ---------------- SUPPORT US ---------------- Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/immaculataproductions PayPal: https://www.paypal.me/ImmaculataProctions Our work won't be possible without your help. This week, Ash Ganley, CEO of GrowRay Technologies, discusses his collaborative manufacturing R&D effort to create patented LED lighting solutions for cannabis cultivation.Ganley is the former CTO of NOBO, a small, vertically integrated multi-state operator based in Boulder, Colorado. During his time at the cultivator, he observed the fractured, isolated nature of cannabis cultivation product development, particularly in lighting, and figured that he could find a better way of doing business. Cannabis lighting lacked research and development (R&D) and efficiency, mostly because non-cannabis technology vendors were marketing to a space coming out of a pre-legal growing culture. Essentially, operators didn't know what they didn't know, and lighting manufacturers took advantage of the situation. It created a lack of trust and transparency that caused a lot of waste in the industry. Early generation LEDs didn't work because they were essentially rebranded warehouse and commercial lighting fixtures. Called "shoebox fixtures" they offered a bad form factor and a non-uniform cone of light. Early LEDs generated a flashlight effect -- too much light directly underneath, and not enough on the edge, which led to conical grows. The fixtures were also being cooled by off-the-shelf computer fans, which caused them to fail thermally. While LED technology was a hard sell two years ago, times have changed and the technology is being embraced by cultivators to increase efficiency, productivity and sustainability. Cultivators are more willing to embrace LED as well as the associated standard operating procedures (SOPs) to get results equal to or better than legacy products, with the added energy savings. GrowRay recently received a new patent for its Triangular Extrusion Shade Bar. Specifically designed for greenhouse cannabis cultivation, the shade bar delivers a uniform footprint of light. It's addressed traditional problems with shading profiles by using a highly polished angled aluminum surface to reflect light from the sun. Other manufacturers have attempted to fix the shading problem by shrinking fixtures, but that has only sacrificed light uniformity. The shade bar has been under development for a couple of years, but came about as a common sense answer to a common problem: a simple sun reflector concept that they proved through R&D at their assembly shop in Colorado. However, product manufacturing is costly and GrowRay is launching a highly engineered product as cannabis light fixture costs are racing to the bottom with companies flooding the market with poorly designed products. To remain competitive, Ganley had kept the company lean, adding strategic partnerships, and taking a grassroots style of marketing. For example, GrowRay works as a partnership with NOBO.Ganley has recently set his sights on taking a more holistic, systems approach to cultivation. Soon, GrowRay will not just be a lighting technology, but an end-to-end technology solutions provider. The company recently ran a program to look for ag-tech startups via mentorships and proof of concept tests. The result uncovered a few candidates GrowRay hopes to pull into its portfolio, be it with full or partial ownership or strategic partnerships. Still, Ganley looks to the future of cultivation, and believes that the next generation of cannabis cultivation technology is actionable data.
