OrigInal from Aaron Robinson's Podcast OPWAR podcast 126 Will Hardy: @suansatiThe Garden of MindfulnessThis is one of 2 podcasts I'm releasing in 2023. I decided at the beginning of the year that it would be one of learning and receiving. I traveled the world, went to 2 different trainings, and got certified in SomatiQ Breathwork & Yoga — further developing my ability to be of service while deepening my devotion to spiritual practice. Along this journey, I've met some pretty incredible people. One of them is this man. Someone with such a kind soul who lives a life with pure intention. I spent 4 weeks with him & his family along with a cohort of yogis for our 200 HR Yoga teacher training in Chiang Mai Thailand. It was one of the hardest things I've done, but it speaks to the integrity of this path that there are no shortcuts and so much to learn in discomfort. This conversation took place on the second to last day of our training. There was supposed to be a video that went along with it — but a common theme for me was ‘letting go'as I botched many many technological executions while on the property. Anyway, it felt really good to listen back to this convo and dip back into my podcast flow. Excited to get it back up and running in 2024 and beyond with some new skills and perspectives to share with you all. Much love, my beautiful listeners. ❤️

Up front, I want to say that the Dhari Dhevi in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is the best resort I have ever stayed. I also recently heard it closed its doors recently as a result of the covid era. Still trying to fin dout details. So unlike a hotel, this place exudes peacefulness and sophistication. The Thai hospitality is as gracious and exceptional as you can imagine. In my quest to mingle with the locals, I decided to help them plant rice in the paddy fields.Yes, I got caked in mud, but I also met Boonchop the Pink Buffalo in the fields and played some Thai music on authentic Thai instruments afterwards.I blame the Monsoon Valley wine for the experience with UFOs and foul mouth birds. You have to listen to this for details. It was all part of the experience in one of my favorite countries. I need to go back.http://www.malcolmteasdale.com

Alpha Sober Living https://www.worldsbest.rehab/alpha-sober-living/ https://www.worldsbest.rehab/th/alpha-sober-living/ https://www.worldsbest.rehab/es/alpha-sober-living/ Opened in February 2020, Alpha Sober Living is low in-take rehabilitation facility in the heart of Thailand's beautiful northern region. It offers individuals the chance to recover from their substance abuse issues and receive treatment for co-occurring issues. Guests at Alpha Sober Living are provided with private bedrooms in this five-person maximum rehab center. The rehab was founded by well-known substance abuse counselor and addiction treatment specialist Alastair Mordey. A founder of and former shareholder of The Cabin Addiction Services Group, Mordey is a pioneer in addiction treatment in Asia. Previously, addiction treatment in Asia was non-existence, but since Mordey began working in the region, individuals have received the help needed to recover from their substance abuse problems. Along with being the founder of Alpha Sober Living, Mordey is the program director. Mordey underwent substance abuse recovery and knows how to connect with people in rehab. Alpha Sober Living has a body-based therapy philosophy and combines them with talk therapy and psycho-social reintegration. Clients will experience one-to-one counseling, physical exercise to improve overall well-being, and group therapy. The rehab based in Chang Mai specializes in a male treatment program that uses martial arts and physical exercise to rehabilitate clients. The five-star rehab offers residential care and online addiction treatment. What is a day like at Alpha Sober Living? The Alpha Sober Living program is centered around Recovery Zones. Mordey created the Recovery Zones program around his own ideology for connecting with individuals suffering from substance abuse. The Alpha Sober Living founder created the program during his time at The Cabin where he was the program director. Many of southeast Asia's rehab centers now use elements of the recovery zone method. Recovery zones uses elements of a secular 12-step program. It also adds in CBT and mindfulness to bring a holistic therapy to guests at Alpha Sober Living. The rehab program is never fully finished as elements and modules have been added to continually provide the best care possible to clients. It now incorporates a secondary treatment and sober living atmosphere for guests. What sets the Recovery Zones program apart from other rehabs is its focus on body-based therapies. Jiu-Jitsu, Muay Thai, Qi Gong, Yoga, and Vipassana meditation are all parts of the program, which give clients the chance to cleanse their bodies and minds. It also allows them to have focus and get their minds and bodies on the same wavelength. Alpha Sober Living has an in-house dojo allowing guests to practice their body-based therapies without leaving the center. Guests will also spend time in the outdoors amongst nature. The area around Chiang Mai is scenic with hills, forests, and trails to explore. Alpha Sober Living accommodation The rehab center is in a residential property that has been recently refurbished. It is a five-bedroom center. The in-take at Alpha Sober Living is low, meaning guests have plenty of time for one-to-one therapy. The center is never overrun with guests and each client is a face and name, rather than a number. Guests will enjoy a private on-suite bedroom during their stay. The communal areas are impeccable giving clients the chance to sit and relax when studying. The Chiang Mai facility is first-class with an in-house meditation studio and an on-site health food restaurant catering to all diets from vegan to keto. Alpha Sober Living has an extensive network of associated coaches from all disciplines to give clients the chance to learn various martial arts. The center is situated in a chic, upmarket part of Chiang Mai. Clients can take advantage of living in an authentic, safe part of the city. Thanks to the authentic aspects of Chiang Mai, residents can take advantage of the local area. Alpha Sober Living Privacy Alpha Sober Living founder Alastair Mordey is seen as a world leader in addiction treatment. He is experienced in the world of addiction recovery and has a built a rehab center capable of providing guests the anonymity they seek during treatment. Alpha Sober Living provides guests with privacy from the first day onwards, meaning their stay will be completely private. One of the World's Best Rehabs Few people can claim to be a world leader in addiction treatment. Mordey is just one of the elements that sets Alpha Sober Living apart from the rest of the recovery programs in the world today. In addition, Alpha Sober Living uses body-based therapies with a focus on martial arts. This is a unique part of the program that helps and motivates men to recover from substance abuse. Alpha Sober Living Modality Alpha Sober Living uses the Recovery Zones program which was created by Mordey. It incorporates elements of secular 12-step rehabilitation, CBT, and mindfulness. There are also modules of secondary treatment and sober living environments. Body-based therapies make up a major part of the program with martial arts and exercises practiced. Alpha Sober Living Setting The recovery center is located in the beautiful Thai town of Chiang Mai. It is set in a chic part of the town but is close to nature allowing guests to explore the local hills and forests. There are also local markets to enjoy. Alpha Sober Living Cost Guests are provided an incredible recovery plan in a beautiful setting for a mid-level rehab cost. Rehabs in Asia such as Alpha Sober Living offer guests more treatment for their money than similar places in North America. This has helped make Alpha Sober Living a popular destination for non-Thai clients. The rehab offers visa assistance for extended stays, 24-hour English speaking staff, medical back up with substance-abuse specialist doctors, and sober living and extended care options. Rehabs in Chiang Mai - why go to rehab in Chiang Mai https://www.worldsbest.rehab/rehabs-in-chiang-mai-thailand/ https://www.worldsbest.rehab/th/rehabs-in-chiang-mai-thailand/ https://www.worldsbest.rehab/es/rehabs-in-chiang-mai-thailand/ Thailand is the world's No. 1 destination for medical and rehab tourism. While the country has a reputation with drinking, drugs, and party culture, a new wave of tourists is visiting the country to end their addictions and co-occurring disorders. The benefits of rehab in Chiang Mai A beautiful place to recover One of the cities that attracts people to Thailand for rehab is Chiang Mai. The historic city has a number of luxury rehabs that provide visitors with evidence-based therapies, medically assisted detox, and much more. These rehabs are welcoming hundreds, if not thousands, of clients each year who are all seeking the same goal – long-term sobriety. Chiang Mai is the culture and history capital of Thailand. Located in the northern region of Thailand, Chiang Mai provides visitors with comfortable weather throughout the year. The great weather allows for you to visit many of the great historical sites around the area or to partake in the many activities Chiang Mai has to offer. With this as the background, you have the ability to recover from drug and alcohol addiction in one of Asia's most beautiful cities. Luxury rehabs in Chiang Mai Compared to many of the luxury rehabs in western countries, you can attend rehab at a resort-style facility in Chiang Mai for a fraction of the price. Even when you factor in the cost of travel, rehab in Chiang Mai is often cheaper. Not only is the price of the world-class care cheaper than in western countries, but you will stay at a beautiful resort-style rehab in one of Thailand's most popular tourist destinations. Combining your stay in rehab with a vacation to Chiang Mai allows you to work towards full sobriety and experience one of Thailand's most amazing cities. After completing your stay in rehab, you can spend a few days or weeks exploring the local area. Regardless of what you decide to do, you will have plenty of time to spend in Chiang Mai's great outdoors while staying in rehab. High standards of care at Chiang Mai Rehabs Rehab in Chiang Mai means that you will likely stay at a center that has global standards. Due to the number of international visitors to rehabs in Chiang Mai, treatment centers must meet specific standards to attract clients. You will benefit from these high standards of care from the staff and the top-notch facilities. One of the aspects that upsets some individuals that attend rehab is a lack of facetime with the counselors and staff. Rehabs in Chiang Mai put a focus on interaction with clients. This could mean that there are low in-take numbers are centers, giving you plenty of time to work with counselors and therapists. Chiang Mai is one of Thailand's most beautiful cities. It is full of history, culture, and much more. With a thriving rehab industry, you will find a treatment program and facility that meets all of your needs.
A few weeks ago, we had the incredible privilege of welcoming Jacques Pepin on the podcast to talk about his life and legacy. Today we are turning the spotlight to further discuss the work he so passionately and generously pursues through the Jacques Pepin Foundation. To have this conversation we welcomed on the JPF executive director, and Jacques Son-in-law, Rollie Wesen. Through this episode you will learn about the ways community kitchens are being used to empower and give opportunity to those with high barriers of entry into society. You will see how powerful collaboration is and what is being done coast to coast through the non-profits that the JPF supports. Here at Gather, we are so passionate about this work because about 5 years ago, Gather started as a life skill training program based in my home kitchen half way across the world in Chiang Mai Thailand. We were working to assist at-risk youth re-enter society through baking and mentorship in the kitchen. While we have moved back stateside and evolved from this specific model, we are committed through all we do to bring awareness to the power of the kitchen, its ability to heal, open doors of opportunity & bring communities together. Through all we do, our goal is is to support this work being done around the world through education and finances to see that these programs have all they need to continue with strength! Join us in the conversation with Rollie Wesen, and if you are compelled, join us also in giving towards their nationwide, community-shifting work. Patrick is an incredibly intelligent agriculturist working in Chiang Mai Thailand with an organization called Echo. He works with local farmers to assist them with modern farming techniques, training on sustainable practices and introduces viable crops to help them maintain their farm's productivity.Patrick got his undergrad and graduate degrees in America as he is originally from Louisiana. But he was raised most of his youth on the island nation of Mauritius. Having also spent some time in Southern Africa, Patrick is very aware of the multitude of cultures, each having unique needs.Patrick loves to work with people and uses his university education to put himself in places where he can support others and serve them at their place of need. It really is a great story of how he puts others needs before his own, and what is so unique about him is he is using his science platform as a way to help others. He has great insights, just as you would expect from someone who has travelled the world the way he has. In this episode, Patrick tells us of the agricultural needs of the farmers, some of the innovative ways they are finding solutions towards sustainability and offers up advice on how others can find their own passions. It's been said that he who serves the most, reaps the most. Patrick is a great example of this as he uses his education and scientific knowledge with a servant attitude. Instagram: @trailstalesEcho: https://echonet.orgStudy in Thailand: https://isdsi.org

Have you ever wanted to run away from life? In 2015 I was feeling so overwhelmed that I fled the country and ran away from being a lawyer! I told no one where I was going and fled to Thailand to be alone and save myself from having a breakdown. It was one of the best things I had ever done. I went to Bali, Indonesia, then Chiang Mai, Thailand, and finally Calcutta, India for a month and told no one. In this podcast I'll share what I did, I'll talk about the awesome travellers I met, and the life changing lessons I learned along the way. Most people say you should always confront your problems and have the courage to keep getting up when you get knocked down. They're wrong. I learned that one of the best things you can do for your mental health is to run away from your problems and find happiness elsewhere. I did and it worked out great! As promised, here is the video of the morning after I arrived in Bali. I felt the weight of the world had lifted off of my shoulders in this moment. Also, here are random photos from my trip through Chiang Mai (and a few from Bali). Sometimes it's fun listening to the narrative of someone's journey and then seeing the actual photos. View from Green Tiger Vegetarian House in Chiang Mai Another view of my room while in Chiang Mai A cat cafe in Chiang Mai. Long philosophical talks with my friend Shivaun. Motorbiking through the Samoeng Loop. Riding the Samoeng Loop in Chiang Mai Hanging with new friends and the owner at the Green Tiger Vegetarian House One of the many night markets in Chiang Mai Awesome food at the night market! This baby elephant was so cute. It was fun feeding them! Fun with new friends on the way to the elephant sanctuary. Giving elephants a mud bath. Fun in the stream with the elephant! Delicious breakfasts every morning. Fish eating my dead skin Foot massage. She wasn't impressed. Even the cats had fun. Life advice that the Universe puts in front of you at the right time The moat around the city walls. Kuta Beach in Bali First stop was Bali! Rice terrace while drinking coffee. Volcano in Bali First stop: BALI Stick around to listen to the end of the video. I recorded the podcast almost five years after this video and hadn't watched it until just now. Even back then in a euphoric state, I had reached the same conclusion: that it's okay to run away from your problems.
