It all started on something called the nomad cruise, where other people were doing something similar. People who owned their time and owned their calendar, and were not location dependent.Yuri works remotely and often lives a higher quality of life. She makes the same money she would make in the States where she might only be getting by. Yet in some places the cost is 10x less.By living this way, one has the choice to reduce their workload and enjoy more activity, which equals more joy and fun, less stress. Not just living for the hustle and bustle.There are so many ways to live. Ours is not the only way. Far from it.How about:Late afternoon siestas in Spain where everything closes.Honking mopeds in Viet Nam just to say hello.In Argentina, fourth meals at midnight.Two hour lunches in Italy. For Yuri,  joy is found in the celebration of dance and music, especially Bachatta dance with a partner, is everywhere in Argentina, in the streets, lessons in the park. People old and young. For her, dancing is getting into the body with movement and flow. It is an unspoken language. Just surviving and want to travel? Just over 12 years ago, Cardinal Jorge Bergoglio was elected Pope Francis in the conclave of 2013. And Tiffany was in St. Peter's Square when it happened. Tomorrow is presidential election day in the US! (Cue the angst-ridden gnashing of teeth.) If you're so worried about the results of the election that you are considering fleeing the country if your side doesn't win, consider this first: The grass is not always greener on the other side of the fence. Countries like Italy, with its year-round sunshine, amazing food, and infamous "dolce far niente" lifestyle, can feel awfully tempting when things in your home country aren't going your way. What is it like to divide your life between two countries? It sounds like the best of both worlds, but is it really? Today we are joined by someone who does just that, Laurel Attanasio, founder of Laurel Ann, LLC a boutique travel company specializing in wellness adventures. Laurel divides her time between the US and Europe, mostly Italy but occasionally Spain and Portugal—or even further afield. She often spends as many as five months of the year abroad, leading yoga retreats and adventure travel—nice work if you can get it! But what are the downsides? Some are obvious—missing her bed, her friends, her husband—while some are more surprising (you never take for granted being able to throw a load of laundry in the washer when you live out of a suitcase for months at a time!). Laurel also discusses how her personality changes depending on which country she's living and working in, in both subtle and dramatic ways. new research has found that more than six million staff in the UK plan to “work from the beach” this summer as growing numbers of people take advantage of flexible working practices. Aisling O Rourke, Communications & Media Coach, has tried and tested the 'work from the beach' method and she tells us more.

We all have our beloved rituals, the things we do that center us, that comfort us, that make us feel that all is right with the world. It can be anything from the way we prepare and enjoy our favorite morning beverage, to walking our dog the same route every day, to watching a favorite show before bed. But what happens when we get so attached to these rituals that we can't do without them? Does this rigidity and inflexibiltiy not limit us? Is comfort overrated? To travel is, almost by definition, to get out of one's comfort zone. So perhaps we should aim to take as few of those comfortable rituals with us when we travel, and seek out new ways to do things. The Pope has given the green light to canonize the very first saint from the millennial generation, Italian Carlo Acutis. Does it seem strange to have a saint from your own generation? On our amazing listener trip to Rome this past October, we interviewed two of our guests, expats Vince and Lindy. These two native midwesterners talk about their backgrounds—traveling or not traveling as a child (depending on which member of the couple is talking), and how that has contributed to their life choices—and the challenges of being a twin (and being married to a twin). How often do actual Romans think about the Roman Empire? You probably saw the recent Tik Tok trend, in which women from around the world asked their male partners how often they thought about the Roman Empire. The results were surprising, with a lot more ancient Roman contemplation than the askers expected.
