It's the movie that finally got people back into the theaters after a global pandemic, a billion-dollar hype machine/feat of emotional manipulation that successfully weaponized our collective nostalgia by retrofitting two previous iterations of Marvel's flagship character into a snake sucking its own dick. Everything you once loved and found heart-wrenching pathos in will be reduced to fan service or lamp shaded to death with aloof ironic detachment. Digitally de-aged villains whose internal struggles can be cured with a homemade injection concocted with kitchen science. A once bustling metropolis filled with everyday citizens barren save for whatever extras can fit against a blue-screen. The entire multiverse fracturing under the weight of a wish to get into MIT. Great powers and great responsibilities in service of Kevin Feige's bank account, save for the cut Sony and Amy Pascal get to take home. The tragedy is that you don't realize what you're tasting is ash in your mouth because you've been convinced otherwise.  You are not immune to popaganda. But we are. Twenty-six cast members were announced painstakingly slowly and wordlessly, via the backs of chairs and it all ended with Robert Downey, Jr. himself strolling in and shushing the viewer.  Also in an interview this week, Scarlet Witch herself, Elizabeth Olsen, claims Wanda will not be returning for either of these Avengers films.Amy Pascal and David Heyman have officially been named as producers on the next James Bond film, according to a Variety article from Tuesday. Pascal is known for her work at Sony and continues to work with Phil Lord and Christopher Miller on different projects such as Spider-Man: Noir. Heyman's name ought to be familiar to Harry Potter fans as he produced all eight of the original films and is also in pre-production on the new series. Though it took first place this weekend, the $43 million domestic opening of Disney's live action remake of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is a box office failure. Along with dismal revenue for the controversy-embroiled film, it has received an overall CinemaScore of B+ - something no Disney live action remake has done yet. Production for the next installment in the Spider-Man franchise is ramping up, and it appears Tom Holland will be joined by a new co-star. Multiple sources confirm that Stranger Things star Sadie Sink is set to join the upcoming Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios project, though details surrounding her role remain under wraps.Marvel and Sony have yet to comment on the casting, but Sink's addition marks a significant shift in the franchise's evolving cast. Following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker's world was reset, setting the stage for fresh faces to enter the mix while familiar characters may take a step back. With Sink's signature red hair and growing reputation in Hollywood, fans have begun speculating about which character she could be portraying. The most prominent theory is that she will debut as Jean Grey, marking the beginning of the X-Men's integration into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, other Spider-Man characters, such as Mary Jane Watson or Felicia Hardy (Black Cat), remain possibilities.Whoever she plays, the role is expected to be significant, with insiders indicating that Sink's involvement will be pivotal in shaping the future of the franchise. With the trilogy's original arc concluding in No Way Home, the next Spider-Man movie is set to explore new territory. Holland's Peter Parker now exists in a world where no one remembers him, allowing for a fresh start in storytelling. This shift also means an opportunity to introduce new allies—and adversaries—into his life. The film will be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, known for his work on Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, with Amy Pascal and Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige producing.Sink has been in high demand following her breakout performance in Stranger Things, and her career shows no signs of slowing down. She recently wrapped filming on the Netflix series' final season, which is set to premiere in 2025. Before stepping onto the Spider-Man set, she will appear in the Broadway production John Proctor Is the Villain (opening April 4) and in the upcoming Searchlight musical O'Dessa, which debuted to strong reviews at SXSW and is set for a Hulu release next week.As for Holland, he is currently filming Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic The Odyssey and is expected to begin work on Spider-Man once that wraps. With production set to begin later this year, Sink's casting adds another layer of intrigue to an already highly anticipated film. Whether she's playing an X-Men mutant, a Spider-Man love interest, or a completely new character, her involvement signals a major moment for both the MCU and her own rising career.Who Is Sink Playing? Well, here we are. After 6 years, the Venom trilogy has come to a close... for now. Venom: The Last Dance has now hit theaters worldwide and for a long time, I have been very open that I am a big fan of these films because they're just fun! I've also always been a big Tom Hardy fan and these movies just really let him off the leash. As a huge Spider-Man fan though, I can't exactly say that these films' interpretation of Venom is what I always imagined the character to be in live-action, and it still disappoints me that we're still yet to get a truly definitive take on that character onscreen. Does Venom: The Last Dance provide the dumb fun of the previous two entires... or is this surpassingly the worst one yet? Find out in this NON-SPOILER review! Venom: The Last Dance: Directed by: Kelly Marcel Screenplay by: Kelly Marcel Story by: Tom Hardy & Kelly Marcel Based on the Marvel Comics Produced by: Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy, Hutch Parker Executive Producer: Joe Caracciolo Jr. Music by: Dan Deacon Cinematography by: Fabian Wagner Editing by: Mark Sanger Casting by: Bret Howe, Mary Vernieu Production Design by: Sean Haworth, Chris Lowe Costume Design by: Daniel Orlandi Cast: Tom Hardy, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans, Stephen Graham, Peggy Lu, Alanna Ubach Synopsis: Eddie and Venom are on the run. Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom has dropped its first TV spot teaser trailer with a full trailer to be released this Thursday. The film is currently scheduled to hit theaters on December 20th.   Haunted Mansion will begin streaming on Disney+ on October 4th.   Tim Burton recently told The Independent that the upcoming Beetlejuice 2 is 99% done and only needs less than 2 days of filming to complete. The film production was shut down due to the Hollywood strikes.   In the first five days since its Disney+ release on Sept. 6, The Little Mermaid — the live-action reimagining of the 1989 Oscar-winning animated classic — has collected 16 million views worldwide, according to the platform.   Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part One releases digitally on October 10 and is available on physical media on October 31.    A Murder, She Wrote film adaptation is in the works at Universal Studios. The film will be written by Lauren Schuker Blum and Rebecca Angelo with Amy Pascal attached to produce. A tv series reboot was planned in 2013, but was ultimately scrapped.   Netflix debuted an official trailer for Mike Flanagan's The Fall of the House of Usher series, based on the Edgar Allan Poe work of the same name.

The family feud has been cast aside, as Dwayne Johnson announces his return to the Fast and the Furious franchise. Bennett Miller was the 3rd director attached to the adaptation of Michael Lewis' classic baseball non-fiction book 'Moneyball', after Steven Soderbergh was replaced by Sony, who got nervous over his plan for interspersing interviews with real-life characters from the book like Lenny Dykstra and Darryl Strawberry throughout the film. His rewrite of Steve Zaillian's script made the studio nervous when paired with the $50 million dollar budget. Some of that technique remains in Miller's use of real baseball scouts and former players in the film, but it's blended seamlessly with the fantastic performances by Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill (who replaced Dmitri Martin in the role of Paul Brand/Paul DePodesta), Phillip Seymour Hoffman, and Chris Pratt. Pitt and Sony exec Amy Pascal and producer Mike DeLuca stuck with the project, reduced the budget, and luckily, the film got made.  On the face of it, it's an audacious undertaking: no less than an art-house take on baseball. Or is it a crowd-pleasing writer's film with a decidedly 70's bent?  Or is it a treatise on the limitations of collective conventional wisdom?  It's all these things and more.  Some Articles About 'Moneyball': https://www.looper.com/593376/the-untold-truth-of-moneyball/  https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/making-moneyball-272655/ Roundtable with Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill, and Bennett Miller:  https://youtu.be/r9g2Bk2GQYY?t=199 84th Academy Awards Nominees and Winners.
