It's February 6th. This day in 1937, President Franklin Delano Roosevelt announces a plan to reforming the judiciary, most notably forcing older members of the Supreme Court to retire, and expand the number of justices. Jody, Niki, and Kellie discuss why FDR felt that he had a mandate after the previous fall's election, and why he felt that expanding the court was a key step to passing many of his reforms. Ultimately, the plan backfired and helped close the window for FDR's reform efforts. Sign up for our newsletter! Get your hands on This Day merch! When most people talk about expanding the Supreme Court, they're talking about adding a few justices. Two or four to the bench. But I am not most people. I do not think we should add a few justices to get into an endless tit for tat. With Mitch McConnell and his federal Society forces, I think we should blow the lid, clear off this incremental, institutionalized motherfucker, and add 20 justices. Here's why.Advertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

The Zionist Organization of America (ZOA), the oldest pro-Israel organization in the U.S., is slamming Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) for hosting an antisemitic event commemorating the so-called Palestinian “Nakba.” MSNBC host Symone Sanders gave a dire warning to her followers on Saturday, claiming that the Supreme Court was poised to make a series of radical decisions — ranging from outlawing Black History to allowing daycares to refuse Jewish children. We continue our discussion on the judicial branch, this time focusing on packing the Supreme Court! Should we pack the courts to achieve a particular agenda? Should there be a constitutional amendment preventing congress from packing the bench? We discuss all that and more -- Don't miss it! Welcome to the limited series Blueprint, a collaboration between Ryan from Between the Liars and Ken from Taboo Topic! This series is designed to envision a smaller federal government that is limited in power and scope, much like the founding fathers originally intended. Conservatives like to talk about smaller government, but most don't know what that looks like in the 21st century, besides the usual buzzwords. Thus, it's about time we start giving Americans this vision of a smaller government. Ryan & Ken take one issue they see with the current government and discuss it, then they propose a constitutional amendment to rectify the situation. At the end of this series they will finalize their amendments and you will have the opportunity to ratify them (follow our social medias so you don't miss the vote!). Court Packing! In the wake of Roe v. Wade, Progressives want to insert new justices to tip back the majority. In this episode we explore the several times politicians have rigged the courts. And then analyze the best available reforms to make the Supreme Court less of a partisan volcano.

For decades, those on the Left weren't interested in packing the Supreme Court. But that all changed in 2020 when things didn't go their way for once. Now, with the possible repeal of Roe v. Wade on the horizon, they are getting desperate. Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah) knows a thing or two about the Supreme Court. As a boy, he used to watch the court in session, he clerked for Justice Samuel Alito (who wrote the leaked draft opinion), and his upcoming book, “Saving Nine: The Fight Against the Left's Audacious Plan to Pack the Supreme Court and Destroy American Liberty,” has a warning for America: Court packing will end in tyrannical KINGS, not presidents. On this episode of "The Glenn Beck Podcast," Glenn and Sen. Lee discuss the last time Democrats tried to pack the court as they search for a solution for the current chaos engulfing America.
