Scientific studies have shown a significant association between higher fluoride levels and decreased IQ in children. Judge Chen noted that the population exposed to fluoride in the U.S. is vast, including two million pregnant women and 300,000 formula-fed infants. A conclusive meta-analysis on fluoride from the National Toxicology Program was released this month as part of a lawsuit involving Fluoride Action Network and the EPA. The former is arguing to have fluoride removed from water supplies and listed as a toxic substance under the TSCA of 1976. Fluoride was first introduced into drinking water in 1945, based on limited associations that when present in water some people had less cavities. Mass fluoridation began in the 1960s. Since then it as been well documented that fluoride, and its many different varieties, usually mixed with metals, can only have associated and limited positive affects on teeth with kept under 0.7mg/liter of water. Despite this, the lowest EPA limit has been 2mg/L and even up to 4mg/L, though many areas in the us contain “fluoride levels at 4mg/L or higher,” according to the National Academies of Sciences Engineering and Medicine in 2006. The Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Register wrote In 2003 that “small amounts of fluoride help prevent tooth cavities, but high levels can harm your health.” The NASEM report concluded that “children exposed to the current maximum allowable connotation risk developing severe tooth enamel fluorosis…enamel loss, and pitting of the teeth.” Whether high or low, these doses are uncontrolled, usually over the EPA limit already, which is also just a recommendation, and have no consideration to fluoride exposure from other drinks, foods, drugs, etc., certainly blasting a person's daily intake to extremely high levels. Let us not forget that a lot of tooth decay is caused by diets saturated in processed foods and sugars too. A meta-analysis from 2012 further found that “children in high-fluoridated areas had significantly lower IQ scores than those who livd in low-fluoridated areas.” A JAMA Pediatrics article from 2019 found that “1-milligram higher daily intake of fluoride among pregnant women was associated with a 3.66 lower IQ score… in boys and girls.” However, the US Department of health can still claim in 2015 that fluoride can have “preventative benefits.” Yes, it can, “at 0.7mg/L,” and benefits that are only possible, not guaranteed. The accumulation of the substance naturally and artificially is more than cause for concern; it is cause for removing it from the water immediately where it is added by recommendation without knowledge or consent of the public. The US Federal government even acknowledged this in 2015 when the Department of Health and Human Services updated its recommendations that fluoride levels should never exceed 0.7mg/L. This week on the Global Research News Hour, we are taking a look at the landmark trial pitting multiple citizens groups against the EPA and seeing the elaborate interests other than teeth that benefits from adding Silicofluorides into drinking water and realizing the magnitude of efforts needed to stop it even after revealed by research studies. In our first half hour, we speak with Dr Robert C (Bob) Dickson chair of Fluoride free Canada about concerns about use of Fluoride in Canada. Then in our second half hour, we hear an interview by Journalist Derrick Broze of theconsciousresistance.com with Michael Connett, lead attorney for the Fluoride Action Network in the United States about the history of the current Lawsuit, the harms of fluoride to developing brains, and the number of interests networked with the EPA to keep the fluoridation work going.

Now I know we are all different species of bought-and-paid-for industry shills. For the dentists, exhibit A is dental products, B is fluorIdation, C is mercury amalgams and root canals.Exhibit B: fluorideIn America, phosphate fertilizer companies dispose of their industrial waste fluoride by putting it into our drinking water. These companies heavily subsidize the American Dental Association, which in return promotes fluoridation.Swartz (below) writes, "The more [fluoride] is used, the greater the damage to the central nervous system.[145] It should never be used in dentistry or in any product. Putting it in drinking water is criminal… It does not prevent tooth decay. It causes dental problems over time." Fluoride has also been conclusively proven to significantly lower children's IQs. The best way to understand these issues is through the Fluoride Action Network. They are pursuing fluoridators through the US federal courts. In a recent victory, the judge on the case released the summary of the expert science that condemned fluoride use. Biden officials, including Rachel Levine, a transgender admiral and later Secretary of Health, are involved in the litigation on the wrong side.Seventy percent of US communities are victimized by fluoride, but most of the world has banned it. In Europe, for example, 97% of the countries choose not to fluoridate drinking water. If you live in the USA, you must cleanse your water of fluoride using filters or reverse osmosis systems such as Culligan's.Exhibit C: Amalgam "silver" dental fillings and mercury root canalsAmalgams are a pre-Civil War technology that should be outlawed. Half of US dentists acknowledge this and never use them because of the well-known health hazards of their mercury, which has no safe dose. This type of filling is inexpensive and thus more profitable for dentists than newer technologies, so ignorant or unscrupulous practitioners often put them into poor or Medicaid patients. Many dental schools and the American Dental Association have never recognized these dangers and continue to promote mercury fillings against the established science.Support the show

The highly controversial fluoridation program in the U.S.  started in the 1940's. But despite over 73 percent of the US population being on a fluoridated community water system,  tooth decay remains the most prevalent chronic disease in both children and adults, even though it is largely preventable.   Many of the doctors who spoke out against it in the early days were called quacks and shunned. In 2017 a coalition of fluoride opposition groups including the Fluoride Action Network and the Food & Water Watch filed a landmark lawsuit against the EPA to “protect the public and susceptible subpopulations from the neurotoxic risks of fluoride by banning the addition of fluoridation chemicals to water.” This lawsuit is still ongoing due to many delays from the EPA,The case recently revealed government attempts to limit available evidence and avoid having the facts of water fluoridation reviewed in court.  There have also been well over 100 studies done since 2015 showing numerous detrimental health issues caused by fluoride including kidney and liver damage, brittle bones and more recently a study showing fluoride can be harmful to pregnant woman and can cause brain-based disorders in their offspring. If we want to continue learning how to optimize health, we have to stay open to new information that might contradict previous research, even if it questions the status quo. Fluoride and dental health are great examples of this process. Fluoride gained support due to an observation one man made many years ago, which has progressed into many cities fluoridating their water and most dentists singing its praises. Fluoride Action Network founder, Dr. Paul Connett, was on Lost Arts Radio about four years ago (https://youtu.be/flc5GiURnD4). He came to tell all our listeners what exactly is wrong with putting fluoride compounds in the public drinking water, and what it would take to get it removed. Many people in the general public are still under the misconception that fluoride in the drinking water is helping our health, and specifically helping dental health. The opposite is true, which can be proven to anyone even using data on CDC's own website, and some great books on the subject, such as The Case Against Fluoride. Even Dr. Connett was not aware of this prior to 1996, when his wife got him to look at some data on fluoridation prior to a meeting she was preparing to attend. The reality that drinking water polluted by fluoride lowers IQ and has many other detrimental health effects is not some crazy conspiracy theory, it is biological fact. Most places in New Zealand have fluoride in the water, but is it dumbing down the population and making people ill? Fluoride expert Dr Paul Connett, professor Emeritus in Chemistry from St Lawrence University New York USA, says “Yes”.For years health experts have been unable to agree on whether fluoride in the drinking water may be toxic to the developing human brain. Extremely high levels of fluoride are known to cause neurotoxicity in adults, and negative impacts on memory and learning have been reported in rodent studies, but little is known about the substance’s impact on children’s neurodevelopment. In a meta-analysis, researchers from Harvard School of Public Health (HSPH) and China Medical University in Shenyang for the first time combined 27 studies and found strong indications that fluoride may adversely affect cognitive development in children. Based on the findings, the authors say that this risk should not be ignored, and that more research on fluoride’s impact on the developing brain is warranted.Dr Connett questions the appropriateness of considering a miniscule amount of improvement in tooth surface above the importance of the brain. When the fluoridation of water began, there was little evidence for its long term safety (as for GMOs) and since then little attempt has been made to monitor its health effects systematically. Because there are so many unanswered health questions, fluoridation of water must be considered an ongoing experimental procedure, and as such it is a violation of the Nuremberg Code, which forbids experimentation on humans without their informed consent. In Europe, nearly all countries have never fluoridated their water or have ceased doing so. Yet the incidence of tooth decay has declined just as much as in those countries that practice fluoridation.
