The highly contentious battle over fluoridated water could be picking up steam again, despite many being over it. New Zealand First's new Member's Bill seeks to repeal the laws from 2021 giving the Director-General of Health central decision making authority. It would also mandate binding local council referendums. Dental Association Policy Director Robin Whyman told Mike Hosking the legislation already went through the whole select committee process where the public was consulted. He says there was a weighing up of the pros and cons so it's not fair to say there hasn't been any input from the public, and at some point we have to stop discussing it. NZ First's Winston Peters is determined to give Kiwis the right to choose as part of a new bill. The Party has introduced a member's bill that aims to repeal a 2021 fluoridation law - requiring councils to hold a referendum. It would look into the law giving the Director-General of Health authority to mandate having fluoride in local water supplies. Peters says people have had a right to vote on these matters for decades - and he hopes to re-instate that right. "We're saying - give people back the democracy they enjoyed all those decades and let them decide. Fluoride is a funny thing. I like it. Not too much, but just enough to help out in the water. Not everyone shares the view, but science is on the right side. Before he left his job Ashley Bloomfield (remember him?) issued an edict to a number of councils to fluoridate the local water. He had the power to compel them to do it. Most have, some have had a bit of an angst about it. Tauranga wasn't thrilled, but the problem was if you didn't, you could be fined a couple of hundred grand and then $10,000 a day for each day after that if you don't follow the rules. On Friday Whangarei voted not to. Their argument was several fold. It was a tight vote of 7-6. The public gallery was full, and I can bet who it was full of. The mayor says fluoride won't help the local area's dental hygiene, which is of course complete nonsense and probably why we have people specialising in the health area as opposed to councillors who generally specialise in nothing. They also argued the area doesn't want it. A decent question to ask is - does that matter? Are there areas and issues where the locals actually don't get a say, kind of like how we don't get to set our own speed limits or whether we pay our taxes? Or do you argue at local level democracy is everything? Mind you, even if you did argue that, they didn't poll everyone so who knows what the locals think in totality. The interesting thing for me is, is this an issue you really want to die on a hill over? If you're a council in the northern part of this country, are you honestly telling me this is as pressing as it gets? Forget the dilapidated state of the place, the fact it gets cut off from the country too often, or the grinding poverty and health issues. How long do you want that list to be? No, we will defy Wellington and get fined over fluoride. Too many councils nationally of late are not giving local representation a good name and this lot aren't helping. Florida's Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, declared in Winter Haven that the state of Florida will recommend cities and counties stop water fluoridation. He pointed to studies related to a lawsuit involving gthe EPA, that tie fluoride to conditions such as ADHD and low IQ in children. We get a response from Dr. Jeff Ottley of the Florida Dental Association.

At one point he was inaudible. At another, in North Carolina, he thought he was in Pennsylvania. Throughout, he sounded exactly like Hal the Computer in the movie “2001” when they unplugged him. PRACTICALLY SPEAKING on the eve of the election, the polls continue to support a Harris victory (size TBD) and this shocking poll where she's up by 3 in Iowa hides an even more shocking number (she's ahead by 20 among women in the whitest part of the midwest). And the reaction to the pollster who published this 21 point swing from June tells you all you need to know about polling. They have previously insisted Ann Selser was an immortal. Now they're saying she's making the rest of them look bad by not tailoring her poll to fit their narrative. Wellington Water has again failed to meet fluoridation targets. The water provider says there's been a drop in fluoride levels across the region over the past four months, so it has been unable to meet targets 95 percent of the time. It's blaming equipment issues, treatment plant outages and workplace health and safety improvements. Chief Executive Tonia Haskell says there's been maintenance issues at a couple of plants. "We put the new kit in Gear Island treatment plant- it was over Covid and it wasn't up to the level that we wanted, but we needed something in there in a hurry. After repeatedly ducking RNZ's requests for an interview since last Monday, he finally answered his phone today. The conversation, though, was soon cut short. After repeatedly ducking RNZ's requests for an interview about his past views - which contradict National's - he finally answered his phone and spoke briefly to RNZ deputy political editor Craig McCulloch. Labour's candidate Deborah Rhodes who shared misinformation about the Gardasil HPV vaccine online also insists she no longer holds those views. In 2019, she claimed on social media the vaccine was poison from big Pharma, which would sterilize boys. In a statement Rhodes says she's since looked into the matter further and no longer holds that view. Rhodes says she believes the vaccine is safe and effective. Rhodes is ranked 72 on Labour's party list, meaning she has no chance of making it to Parliament.

These companies heavily subsidize the American Dental Association, which in return promotes fluoridation.Swartz (below) writes, "The more [fluoride] is used, the greater the damage to the central nervous system.[145] It should never be used in dentistry or in any product. Putting it in drinking water is criminal… It does not prevent tooth decay. It causes dental problems over time." Fluoride has also been conclusively proven to significantly lower children's IQs. The best way to understand these issues is through the Fluoride Action Network. They are pursuing fluoridators through the US federal courts. In a recent victory, the judge on the case released the summary of the expert science that condemned fluoride use. Biden officials, including Rachel Levine, a transgender admiral and later Secretary of Health, are involved in the litigation on the wrong side.Seventy percent of US communities are victimized by fluoride, but most of the world has banned it. In Europe, for example, 97% of the countries choose not to fluoridate drinking water. If you live in the USA, you must cleanse your water of fluoride using filters or reverse osmosis systems such as Culligan's.Exhibit C: Amalgam "silver" dental fillings and mercury root canalsAmalgams are a pre-Civil War technology that should be outlawed. Half of US dentists acknowledge this and never use them because of the well-known health hazards of their mercury, which has no safe dose. This type of filling is inexpensive and thus more profitable for dentists than newer technologies, so ignorant or unscrupulous practitioners often put them into poor or Medicaid patients. Many dental schools and the American Dental Association have never recognized these dangers and continue to promote mercury fillings against the established science.Support the show
