Former Louisville metro police department detective, Kelly Goodlett, pleaded guilty to felony conspiracy in association with the murder of Breonna Taylor in March of 2020. Goodlett admitted to helping falsify information in order to obtain a search warrant. Taylor was asleep when police officers barged into her apartment and killed her in her bed, allegedly searching for Taylor's former boyfriend whom they suspected of dealing drugs. NCAA NEWS Five former Louisville basketball players and recruits told ESPN's Outside the Lines that the gist of Katina Powell's book alleging she provided dancers and escorts at the request of former UL staff member Andre McGee is true. "It was crazy," one former recruit told Outside the Lines. "It was like I was in a strip club." A source previously told CBS Sports that former Louisville recruit JaQuan Lyle told the NCAA much the same thing earlier this month. Powell spoke with Outside the Lines on camera and detailed many of the same allegations she made in a book published earlier this month, but nothing new. She provided incriminating text messages she exchanged with McGee that she had previously written about, which Outside the Lines reported it was able to independently confirm. Former Louisville Cardfinals RB Lionel Gates joins Joe Lisi On The Weekly Blitz. Gates was a standout from 2001-2004 rushing for 1,475 yards averaging 4.8 yards per carry with 20 touchdowns. He was an all-around running back who caught 40 passes for 469 yards averaging 11.7 yards per carry with 2 receiving touchdowns. Gates had great speed and was a tough inside runner who was not afraid of contact. The trio of Gates, Michael Bush and Eric Shelton was a loaded backfield for head coach Bobby Petrino in leading the Cardinals to a 11-1 record in 2004 with a top 10 ranking.
