We also discuss why CNN political commentator Scott Jennings is the only entertaining thing on CNN! His responses and pushback during panel discussions are awesome. We discuss Karoline Leavitt's nomination to serve as White House press secretary in the Trump administration and why she's a great follow-up to Kayleigh McEnany. Like McEnany, Leavitt is smart and tough. She worked on the staff that assisted McEnany and she also worked with Elise Stefanik. She then ran for Congress, winning the Republican nomination for New Hampshire's first congressional district in 2022, and then losing in the general election to Democrat Chris Pappas. At 27, Leavitt will be the youngest White House press secretary in US history. McEnany refuted this claim, highlighting the numerous accomplished women in Trump's administration. In a notable display of popularity, the previous U.S. President captured an impressive victory at the Iowa caucuses, losing only one vote across 99 counties. The overwhelming success speaks more about his grip over the electorate than anything else could. Kayleigh McEnany, known for her role on 'Outnumbered,' took a moment to weigh in on this remarkable event. Navigating through the political landscape, she voiced her thoughts on the undeniable triumph on the conservative side of the aisle and aired her criticism towards certain news outlets that chose silence over coverage. McEnany brought attention to a disconcerting trend in the media, hinting at a pattern of censorship against the former President. The culture of respect and openness that we herald, she implied, seemed to be conspicuously lacking when it pertained to the previous Commander-in-Chief. Her apprehension extended beyond just the apparent media silence. According to McEnany, it seemed to roll over into how his ardent followers, the very soul and spirit of America, were being portrayed on the national stage. In parallel, figures from more left-leaning media houses also chimed in with their opinions. High-profile CNN and MSNBC personalities, Jake Tapper and Rachel Maddow respectively, chose not to televise the former President's victory speech, pointing towards a policy breach and some heated immigrant discussions as their reasons.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Ohio disappoints Kayleigh McEnany as they elect to protect reproductive rights in the state constitution. Despite anti-abortion efforts, numerous states have seen their restrictions and bans on the procedure halted through a referendum by the electorate. “On the issue of abortion in Ohio tonight, we continue the losing streak in the pro-life movement,” McEnany told Sean Hannity. “Every ballot initiative has been lost post-Dobbs for the pro-life movement. As a party, Sean, we must, we must not just be a pro-baby party. That’s a great thing. We must be a pro-mother party. We need a national strategy… to help vulnerable women because the results of next year’s election could be determined by that.”

20230720KMC - McCarthy, McEnany, Goldberg by Kevin McCullough Radio
The timing of President Joe Biden's new student debt cancellation plan may position Democrats with a beneficial messaging opportunity in the 2024 election. Rep. James Comer (R-KY) said he is "hopeful" more of the House Oversight and Reform Committee's "disturbing findings" in its investigation of the Biden family's alleged criminal scheme will be revealed next week. The Delaware-based federal judge to preside over Hunter Biden's arraignment later this month is facing mounting pressure by former Department of Justice officials to reject his plea deal as a majority of the nation says the president's son received "sweetheart" treatment. Former White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany eliminated Hunter Biden as a suspect in the Biden administration's cocaine bag scandal despite the president's son's well-documented history of drug use. Somehow, it snowed at the Biden White House in July despite alleged climate change occurring — and the Biden administration has no interest in figuring out how it happened. In fact, on Wednesday, White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that President Joe Biden and his team won't be sniffing around the investigation into the bag of cocaine found at the People's House this past weekend.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Then, Dom welcomes back to the show former producer Joe Sibilia, who now serves as the producer of the Joe Piscopo Show in New York City. Full Hour | In today's second hour, Dom leads off by continuing a thread he began last hour, telling of former President Donald Trump's attack on former Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, who read back poll numbers on Fox News that Trump did not agree with. Dom, who's generally supportive of Trump's aggressive tone, takes umbrage with this attack, explaining why he sees this as an example of unhinged behavior. Then, Dom reveals a new push to teach about reparations in math classes in public schools, also telling that Hulu's 1619 Project will air tonight on 6ABC. Then, Dom welcomes in Freedom Caucus Chair Rep. Scott Perry back onto the Dom Giordano Program to hear why the Freedom Caucus has come out against a vote in favor of raising the debt ceiling. First, Perry tells of the background of the decision, telling of the suffering that so many have dealt with due to an economy rife with inflation, warning of the negative implications of allowing such a move by the Biden administration. Then, Dom asks about other members in the House, for example Rep. Massie, who are in favor of the ceiling, with Perry explaining why that is and why Republicans need to re-consider the effects that it would have on American citizens. Also, Perry delves in the continued attempt to bring accountability to the FBI after multiple instances of bias on display. (Photo by Alex Wong/Getty Images)

Self-described "fat, queer dyke", Abby McEnany is one of the first butch women to ever lead a TV show. Season Two of Work In Progress is now airing on Showtime. LGBTQ&A is hosted by Jeffrey Masters and produced by The Advocate magazine, in partnership with GLAAD. Come find us on Twitter @lgbtqpod.
Writer, comedian, actress, improviser (and if I'm being honest? friend!) Abby McEnany is on the podcast, and she's brought her deep, deep passion for the United States Postal Service. (UPS is also close to her but for different reasons.) Vincent D'Onofrio, brand-name ibuprofen, Abby's kickass nephews, and President Jimmy Carter himself are all going to space. Ok, President Carter himself isn't going, but the aliens do need to know about everything he's been up to.Abby's ArtifactsProcedural crime dramas (audio-visual)Mail (human institution and interaction)Advil (molecule)The knowledge of Abby's nephews' existences (human being)A record of Jimmy Carter's post-presidency (historical record)Watch Abby in the season premiere of Work in Progress on Showtime, on Sunday, August 22nd.--Follow the show @keepingrecordspodAdvertise on Keeping Records via Gumball.fmSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Danny Lavery welcomes Abby McEnany, mainstay of the Chicago improvisational comedy scene, and the creator of the Showtime comedy series, Work In Progress, and Celeste Pechous, a writer and actress, who also stars in Work In Progress, portraying Abby's best friend, Campbell. Lavery, McEnany, and Pechous tackle three letters: First, from a letter writer who is wondering how to find the right therapist. Another letter writer is wondering how to explain her asexuality to her family. The last letter is about someone who feels they lose their friends when they have babies. Plus, a deep dive into season 2 of Showtime's critically acclaimed series, Work In Progress. Need advice? Send Danny a question here. We've got to thank comedian Abby McEnany and writer Samantha Irby for both achieving fame and keeping it real. McEnany has adapted her Chicago's iO Theater one-woman show into the semi-autobiographical Showtime series “Work In Progress”—the “coming of age story of a 45-year-old self-identified queer dyke”. Irby's latest essay collection Wow, No Thank You, chronicles her “bourgeois life of a Hallmark Channel dream,” including turning 40, getting married, and moving out of Chicago. Come celebrate Pride and representing queer joy with McEnany and Irby. This program was livestreamed on June 25, 2020. If there's anything Abby McEnany is better at than making people laugh, it may be laughing at herself. Don't be fooled by the self-deprecating title: This conversation is about how Abby has embraced the person she is, how she has used it to influence her comedy, and how so much of one's path and career has to be about being happy in the place you are. In the same way that "improv is all about reframing," Abby is affecting change she wants to see by reframing and being true to herself, a "queer fat failure." See Abby's one-woman show, Work In Progress, 8/19 or 9/2 at 10:30 at the iO Theatre.
