In this episode of the show, Raj and Stu look back at two midweek games: Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans. We start by discussing the most recent game, which saw Gujarat spoil Raj's return to our IPL coverage with a dominant win in Bengaluru. Mohammed Siraj knocked the top off the RCB batting lineup and despite a recovery through the middle and a messy fielding performance from GT, it turned out that 169 wasn't close to enough. Sai Sudharsan set the platform for GT in the powerplay, before Jos Buttler's 73 guided them home. Next we move to Punjab's impressive win against LSG. There's talk about Shreyas Iyer's excellent run of form, PBKS's Indian core doing the business, LSG's absences, Nicholas Pooran's ball-striking and whether it's time to start worrying about Rishabh Pant's lack of runs. To finish, there's a quick look ahead to the upcoming SRH v KKR clash - a 2024 final rematch that now shapes as an important fixture for different reasons in 2025. In this episode of the show, Binksy, Baldy, Jamie and Stu look back at week 1 of IPL 2025 through a stock market lens. Who are we buying? Who are we selling? And what are we watching with our fingers poised ready to pounce in the coming weeks? We start on a positive note, highlighting a balanced RCB side unbeaten at the time of recording thanks to a bowling attack featuring the quality of Josh Hazlewood and a top order that's firing thanks to Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Rajit Patidar and co. In the Buy section of the show there's also praise for Sai Sudharsan, MS Dhoni and wicketkeepers in general. We're watching the impact player performances and how that's impacting games and batting lineups. We're selling a star-studded Mumbai Indians batting lineup featuring Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya and friends because we can't understand why they're continuing to struggle, and watching closely to see how much tinkering do with their teamsheet, tactics and batting lineup with the likes of Curran, Dhoni, Jadeja and Ashwin who could all slide up and down the middle order. To round out the show, there's chat about whether teams will score 300, how home ground advantage could play a role and if it is too early to be worried about Pat Cummins and his SRH bowling attack. We'll be back in your feed later in the week with more of a game review style show. Front Porch Politics and Tying It Together podcast host Tim Boyum is on the road, talking with everyday Americans and local leaders about the issues that matter to them this election season. He is cranking out bite-sized podcasts along the way, and in his first edition, he is making his way up the Pennsylvania turnpike with photojournalist John Stampf in a rented Tesla. Host Tim Boyum continues his treck across America with recent stops in Pittsburgh, Buttler, Pennsylvania and then to Lordstown, Ohio before landing in Lansing, Michigan for the vice presidential debate. He said they put on about 410 miles across three states. They've opted to choose the strategy of topping off rather than waiting to get to a 10% charge. The two topped off before leaving, taking about 28 minutes and costing them $7 dollars. They also stopped in Gerrard, Ohio for another charge, taking 37 minutes for $14 dollars, as well in Toledo for a 44 minute recharge at about $18 dollars. Their final charge was in Lancing, Michigan for a 35 minute charge at about $16 dollars. While in Butler, PA, Tim met with artist Bill Secunda who made what he estimates to be a 20-foot-tall, 200 lb statue of Donald Trump out of nails. Once arriving in Lordstown, Tim spoke to residents about what they need to hear from politicians after a GM plant shut down in 2019. The mayor asked for a pledge of support and for candidates to pull through on those promises. Tim and John head to Wisconsin for their next leg of the trip.

Three games for us to react to on this IPL 2024 show. Jos Buttler caused mayhem yesterday as he helped Rajasthan Royals complete the record IPL chase against the Kolkata Knight Riders. A game which also featured Sunil Narine scoring a maiden century! On Monday there was even more carnage, as Royals Challengers Bengaluru allowed Sunrisers Hyderbad to break the IPL record score AGAIN. They hit 287, with Travis Head notching a ton to lead the charge there. Then finally Gujarat Titans played terribly and were bowled out for 89 by a Delhi Capitals side who are on the march! Think DCOM Divas reviews too many Lindsay Lohan movies? Well then you better turn this off because you're about to get twice the Lohan in this review of the classic 1998 Disney flick, The Parent Trap. On this episode, Jana is joined not by her long-lost twin but definitely her sister in Christ (ahem, the two of them played nuns together in a musical), Amelia! Together these millenial queens reminisce over iconic characters like Meredith Blake, Martin the Buttler, and most importantly, Chessie! They discuss questions we should have been asking about this film all along like… Should these parents actually be getting back together because it seems like they have no valid reason to other than to reunite their kids who've they've intentionally separated and lied to for 11 years? Is Meredith Blake actually the horrendous bitch we make her out to be or is Nick Parker an overly hands-off and wildly irresponsible parent who got secretly engaged to his much younger girlfriend while his daughter was away at camp and expects her to just be ok with it? How is it possible to simultaneously worship Chessie as a queer icon yet whole-heartedly ship her and Martin as the one true love story of this movie? Virat Kohli hit another T20 hundred, his 8th IPL century but RCB lost yet again. Kohli anchored RCB's innings with a brilliant 113 off 72 balls, while the rest of the team could only muster 59 off 48 balls. Despite receiving 11 extra runs from RR, RCB's total never posed a threat as RR comfortably chased it down with 5 deliveries and 6 wickets to spare. Despite losing Yashasvi Jaiswal early, RR's Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson capitalized on the favorable batting conditions, with Buttler scoring an unbeaten century off 58 balls and Samson contributing a quickfire 69 off 41 balls.Questions arose about RCB's batting strategy despite Kohli's century on Saturday. Concerns were raised about the pace of his innings, with some suggesting it could hinder the team's performance. Speculation also emerged about Kohli's suitability as an opener for India in the upcoming T20 World Cup. Was Kohli's slow hundred responsible for RCB's loss against RR? Well, the numbers don't lie. While it's tempting to blame Kohli for his 'slowest' IPL hundred, the bigger issue lies in the lack of support from a seemingly dysfunctional RCB team. With two weeks of IPL gone, we look it into who are the automatic choices to play the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024. Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Rinku Singh and Ravindra Jadeja are all but in. Will Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant make the squad as the two wicketkeepers? In the latest episode of Sledging Room Podcast, Akshay Ramesh, Saurabh Kumar and Kingshuk Kusari discuss why it's wrong to blame Kohli.Produced and Mixed By: Sachin Dwivedi
A packed weekend in the IPL featured games between Rajasthan Royals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals, and Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. In game one Virat Kohli and Jos Buttler traded 100s. Rajasthan eventually came out on top, and there are questions for RCB. Can anyone except Virat Kohli score any runs for them? This morning, Mumbai Indians finally won a match, as they beat Delhi Capitals easily. Romario Shepherd hit over 30 from the final over, bowled by Anrich Nortje. Is there any hope for Delhi, and is the beginning of a charge for Mumbai Indians. Then finally, Lucknow Super Giants have Yash Thakur. Thakur picked up 5 wickets to help LSG fight back against the Titans to set fire to their innings and set up a win. Want to create live streams like this? They feature an explosive batting line up, including Jaiswal, Buttler, Samson and Hetmyer, as well as quality bowlers like Boult. However, might they be exposed at the death? Mumbai Indians have a god squad. The sky is the limit for Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, Tim David, Rohit Sharma, etc. But will a captaincy change cause trouble? Sunrisers Hyderabad finished bottom last season, but they went shopping in the auction and now things could change. Lead by Pat Cummins the team also features Hasaranga and Klaasen, but their domestic core is not as exciting as other sides. Joanna Buttler, Head of the Global Autonomous Technology Group, Daimler Truck North America joined Grayson Brulte on The Road to Autonomy podcast to discuss the development of the autonomous-ready Freightliner Cascadia and Daimler Truck's outlook for autonomous trucking. The conversation begins with Joanna discussing how Daimler Truck North America is approaching autonomy. We see autonomous as one of the biggest opportunities for us as a company. – Joanna ButtlerTo execute on this opportunity, Daimler Truck is focused on deploying long-haul autonomous trucks in the United States as part of a hub-to-hub strategy. As part of the strategy, Daimler is developing the autonomous-ready Freightliner Cascadia and Torc Robotics is developing the autonomous driving software. At Daimler Truck Capital Market Day 2023 in July, the company announced that autonomous trucks were a strong strategic pillar. Projecting that autonomous trucks have the potential to deliver € 3 billion in revenue by 2030 with the official launch for Daimler's trucks scheduled for 2027.When Daimler commercializes autonomous trucks, customers will purchase the autonomous-ready Freightliner Cascadia from Daimler Truck and an autonomous driving software subscription from Torc with flexible pricing models. To simplify the sales process, Daimler will coordinate the entire transaction and offer financing through Daimler Truck Financial. Daimler Truck's customers will be able to achieve a higher utilization with autonomous trucks as they will be able to operate 24/7 with limited downtime. Higher utilization could lead to lower shipping costs and increased margins for fleets. To achieve their vision for autonomous trucking, Daimler is developing a redundant autonomous-ready chassis to ensure the highest levels of safety and functionality. The development process started with a list of 1,500 requirements that they jointly developed with Waymo and Torc to identify the systems, features and tasks that are required to enable autonomous driving. When autonomous trucks scale, the benefits to society and the economy will be immense. Autonomy can and will bring great benefits for society. – Joanna ButtlerWrapping up the conversation, Joanna shares her outlook for autonomous trucking.Recorded on Thursday, December 14, 2023--------About The Road to AutonomyThe Road to Autonomy® is a leading source of data, insight and commentary on autonomous vehicles/trucks and the emerging autonomy economy™.
