On this week's episode we sit down with author and award-winning political journalist Harry McGee. Harry is the political correspondent with The Irish Times, and has previously worked for several publications, including being political editor of the Irish Examiner, as well as jobs with the Sunday Tribune, and the Sunday Press. Harry also authored “The Murderer and the Taoiseach: Death, Politics and GUBU”, which explores a notorious case in 1980s Ireland involving Malcolm Macarthur, an Irish aristocrat who committed a brutal killing spree in an attempt to alleviate his financial troubles. The case not only shocked the nation but also had profound political ramifications, leading to widespread damage to the reputation of then Taoiseach Charles Haughey. The term GUBU (grotesque, unbelievable, bizarre, and unprecedented) was coined by Haughey himself to describe the events, encapsulating the surreal and shocking nature of the scandal. You’ll want to tune in to hear this week’s guest explain the origin story of her company: Proxi. Melinda Haughey explains how a "mom problem" led to the creation of a customised mapping system. Frustrated with the complexity of Google maps, Melinda and co-founder Chelsey Roney created a simple way of creating personal and shareable maps. Proxi aims to monetise unique maps by providing analytics back to the users/map creators, but that’s not their only aim. The big vision is to create a robust infrastructure of guides that are mapped. Melinda explains how mapped lists make life much more simple and why people the time for their service is now. Join me as I talk to Andrea Haughey, a health and fulfillment coach who has certainly had her share of challenges to overcome.  A few years into her career as a personal trainer she hit a rock bottom which propelled her into a journey to recovery from an eating disorder that had controlled her life for over 15 years. During the process of healing her own relationship with food, her body, with movement, and ultimately her relationship to self, her mission shifted.Andrea realized that there was so much more to being well than a healthy diet and exercise. She realized that for women to truly feel whole, balanced, vibrant and alive; to be fulfilled in their bodies, their relationships and their lives, they had to reconnect with themselves. Andrea's mission now is to help busy and driven women, who in spite of all their external success, are feeling unfilled and disconnected from themselves, learn how to slow down, create space and lean into their truth as they listen to their bodies and intuition and start to live a life that truly lights them up. You can find connect with Andrea in many ways.Insta: https://www.instagram.com/sweat.inspire.live/FaceBook: https://www.facebook.com/andrea.w.haugheyLinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/andrea-haughey Free 15-minute Discovery Callhttps://calendly.com/andreahaughey/discovery-call?month=2022-05Private FB Grouphttps://www.facebook.com/groups/516486562613727/?ref=share

If you watched the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, or you're one of my listeners in Hong Kong, Siobhan Haughey will need absolutely no introduction as she is essentially a national treasure and the most recognisable celebrity in the country right now. Siobhan made sporting history last year,  winning two Olympic Silver Medals in the 200m and 100m freestyle events.  Not content with that she stormed to a new World Record in the 200m freestyle at the 2021 World Short Course Championships. As a general rule I prefer to have guests who are a bit longer in the tooth. People who are further along in their journey through life. Age is not a proxy for accomplishment, but there is something to be said for having done a few more laps around the sun. However, there are exceptions to every rule and this 24 year old is certainly one of them. The chance to learn from someone who is at the absolute peak of their profession so early in life, and a role model to millions, is an opportunity that I didn't want to pass up. She retains the infectious positivity and optimism of youth that makes her so likeable, but there's also a very mature head set on those young shoulders. She's given countless interviews since taking the podium at Tokyo 2020 and I wanted to make sure that this conversation had no sponsors, no corporate agenda, and that it went a little differently. I wanted to take a couple of off-ramps that might reveal a different side of her. I think that we succeeded. I thank Siobhan for being so open and generous in sharing how she is developing her inner game. Join us to find out what motivates this Olympian and what she is most proud of...
