The case not only shocked the nation but also had profound political ramifications, leading to widespread damage to the reputation of then Taoiseach Charles Haughey. The term GUBU (grotesque, unbelievable, bizarre, and unprecedented) was coined by Haughey himself to describe the events, encapsulating the surreal and shocking nature of the scandal. He learned guitar from a Haitian refugee in his hometown. He was a golden glove boxer who missed out on the Olympics due to a brush with the law. Both his parents died from drug overdoses and he made money digging graves at the local cemetery. He headed to LA with nothing but the shirt on his back and his guitar, living in an RV for two years whilst saving to record his first record. DID has one of my favourite channels on YouTube where he dives into some of the most horrific events throughout history, focussing serial killers, catastrophic events and the Nazi deathcamps. He has a fascinating depth of history knowledge, and We talk through some of the worst Nazi guards, delve into their crimes, explore the cases of Dennis Nielsen, Jeffery Dahmer, and so much. This is a psychopath power hour.Descent Into Darkness YT - https://www.youtube.com/@DiD86Dark Finds Podcast IG - https://www.instagram.com/darkfindspodcast/Patreon - https://www.patreon.com/darkfindspodcast/membershipDark Finds IG - https://www.instagram.com/dark.finds/Dark Finds book - https://www.amazon.com/Dark-Finds-Gary-Colton/dp/1805173634/ref=sr_1_1?crid=2B1OGRH86UD8C&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.PnwSkbnXkN0gbYp4qjuYe6XwQ4u6_0teHbxpQBWkKT2rxXkE4BuR_BWOF7t4rCFj40oCqVusYd8ANP9my9zV6gn2cOiusFigS_WzIscpAU1IvlLmkp1sPquNwHisNjXSAzhgY1hofC7pZbTW_5ld20X-6UGWkPvcQG5TSw7yJfzXnuyHMnvPVvQKYWNoRKJSL5lsTQvpKj-xQnOIXxeSLvWf_qPk6xcA71x1ZTIXmW8.PdxAZHJwxZSzy9_R9P5TRbcJxvf8NoQqT-d6y5C9yGs&dib_tag=se&keywords=dark+finds+book&qid=1714378235&sprefix=%2Caps%2C782&sr=8-1 Hosted on Acast. Hello everybody and welcome to the Dark Finds podcast. On toady's episode we have MMA fighter Yann Oliveira. Yann is not only the Combat FC Welterweight champion, but he also runs a successful construction company. I found his story so inspiring. He left Brazil as a teenager and landed in the US. He faced adversity and set back, but he came out swinging like a fighter would. Honestly, I love these types of stories, and talking to people who have that killer, do or die mentality. I hope you all enjoy this one as much as I did.Yann's IG: https://www.instagram.com/yannyoliveira/Dark Finds IG: https://www.instagram.com/dark.finds/Dark Finds Podcast IG: https://www.instagram.com/darkfindspo...Help keep coffee in my cup: patreon.com/DarkFindsPodcast#MMAJourney #FighterComeback #OvercomingAdversity #MMASuccessStories #FighterResilience #MartialArtsInspiration #MMAFighterLife #CombatSportsTriumph #AthleteMotivation #MMATraining Hosted on Acast.
