On today's episode, the girls discussed their holiday agenda and plans and goals for the new year. We also squeezed in some hot topics from the media. Vic, presented a question to the group and asked what does it truly mean to be a girl's girl. Next, we gave our thoughts on a recent viral video from the Gotta be Me podcast page. The page is ran by mixed race Amish sisters who gave their thoughts on why black women shouldn't rely on wigs and lashes and should present them selves more naturally. That's it for 2024! Have a safe and happy holiday from The Black Millennial Mamas, and we will see you next year! Peace and love
On this episode of Community News, we get ready for the holidays by talking about the weather, a crime spree and we celebrate a state wide winner.

Sporties! We're on a 2 week break while we survive school holidays but we'll be back on Wednesday 2 October. In the meantime, nominate someone (or a team) for the Mid Week Hall of Fame HERE (and why not make it a voice note?). What does a Mid Week Hall of Fame nominee look like?.... It's a grassroots, authentic moment that deserves to be celebrated. It doesn't have to be a win, it doesn't have to be a personal best time and a good test is "could this be a story line in a movie or episode". If in doubt, nominate away! Keri and Tom from Snow Windows join us to spread some holiday cheer. It all started back in 2007 when one Christmas Eve Tom decided to surprise her with a snow scene on their kitchen window. Tom has always been artistic and thought of a new way to use regular snow spray to decorate. He sprayed it onto the window and brushed an image of a little house into the spray. And the rest, as they say, is holiday history. Keri and Tom share the joys of working together, the art of doing the art itself, why being nostalgic is a good thing and so much more merriness. Join us as we kick off the holiday season by skating across the pond to the UK to chat the good chat with our new friends at Snow Windows. Looking for the prefect holiday gift? Then, Julia Layne calls in from Anaheim to review "Holiday Time at the Disneyland Resort," the 2023 version of the resort's holiday tour. She gives us the nitty gritty to help you decide if this tour is right for you. Julia also reports on the just-opened Advetureland Treehouse, and shares some highlights from her visit. Plus Swiss Family Treehouse history, ShopDisney woes - and more!

We have been following the work being done in Adventureland from a burst pipe near the entrance. The restrooms have been closed and the construction walls have been growing! Currently there is a small pathway in front of the Tiki Juice Bar to allow guests in and out of the land. Last week, a different pipe burst under the Storytellers Cafe dining room! This was a bit surprising to us since the resort has really been pushing mobile order, however it is a welcome change. When mobile order was in place, one whole counter and kitchen area was devoted to mobile order while the other was just for standby. We hope this change will greatly help the overall flow and wait times for this location! – https://www.micechat.com/363640-disneyland-update-crowd-crush-pipes-pop-holiday-happenings/ Goofy's Kitchen halloween (talk about spooky offerings) – https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland-hotel/goofys-kitchen/ Discussion Topic: The Walt Disney Family Museum with Alex W – https://www.waltdisney.org/ https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1I6wOHTj9llTa0bUa0VU6Jp1LJZ0b62uR?usp=sharing
In honor of our Christmas week break, we bring you an episode from way, way back in time. Holidays was taped all the way back in December 2013, although it aired a few months later. Back then, the Bittersweet Life podcast was in its earliest infancy (this is just the 3rd ever episode!), Katy was a brand-new expat celebrating her first Christmas abroad, and Aurelio hadn't even been dreamed of yet. Here are the original show notes from that early, early episode: When you become an expat, you expect things to be different. Yet culturally, the holidays make that contrast most vivid. Does Christmas feel different overseas because the commercialism is missing? Katy and Tiffany explore how the holidays affect, and sometimes alter, the expat experience. ------------------------------------- ADVERTISE WITH US: Reach expats, future expats, and travelers all over the world. Spending any holiday time, vacation time, family time, or even date time with a covert narcissist is an awful lot like pulling a Chance card in Monopoly. If you are an avid player of the game or even a casual player, then you know that feeling of landing on Chance and having no idea if this is a good thing or not. Will it be a reward of something great or a punishment for an imaginary crime? Either way, it has nothing to do with any action on your part. With the CN, this can turn out to be a good time, quite enjoyable, a relief that it stayed peaceful and happy or it can be a total disaster and sheer punishment. Not knowing what is coming and knowing the intense negativity that is always a tiny fuse away makes it incredibly difficult to relax and just enjoy. Even when the environment is positive, it is impossible to trust it. Whether things are peaceful and calm or explosive and disastrous depends an awful lot on the covert narcissist's narcissistic supply. Whether their bottomless internal pit of emptiness and insecurity, which constantly needs to be fed, is being filled sufficiently right then. Learning about narcissistic supply can help you to make sense out of this crazy-making situation.
It's the most wonderful time of the year again, and the RetroWDW crew is here with another festive holiday episode. Brian takes up back to the Walt Disney World in the early 1990s when the seasonal festivities shifted their focus from the Magic Kingdom to EPCOT Center. He tells us about Epcot's much beloved “Lights of Winter” musical light show and its European origins, as well as other early holiday offerings at the park. Then we make a stop at each of the monorail resorts and finally the Disney Marketplace and Pleasure Island. From chestnuts roasting on an open fire to electrical boat shows, the 1990s made WDW visitors' seasons bright.
