Before we even get into it the race, we touched on the World Trail Majors that had been announced one day before this recording and when opportunity presents itself, well, you ask. So that's what we did. In today's show we are focusing on the Black Canyon 100k. The race takes place in February, in Arizona, and is a point to point race along the Black Canyon Trail. The trail is a mix of single track, jeep roads and parts of it are along an old stagecoach route. The race has more elevation loss than gain, with an elevation gain of 5190 feet and loss of 7050 feet over the 100k. Runners have 20 hours to finish, and if you want to make it your Western States qualifier, you have to get it done in under 17.
