American jazz singer
POPULARITY
Tracklist: – Rolling Tales, Makoto Ozone; – Chasing the Horizon, Makoto Ozone; – Evanscape, Enrico Pieranunzi & Bebo Ferra; – Song for Helen, Enrico Pieranunzi, Bebo Ferra & Diego Imbert; – Nova Ilusão, Ron Carter & Yotam Silberstein; – La Belle Vie, Djamal B; – Las Trompetas de Nael, Ibrahim Maalouf; - Prisoner of Love, Gabrielle Cavassa.

A night at Smoke Jazz Club with Jazzmeia Horn. Guest Host Juliet Ewing.
This conversation was recorded on The Jazz Cruise earlier this year and it featured a talk with Jazzmeia Horn and Cyrille Aimee, moderated by fellow vocalist Catherine Russell, who is also one of the hosts of The Jazz Cruise. The two talked about their unique musical roots – Jazzmeia's in gospel and Cyrille's in French gypsy music and how they first got into jazz. They also share their creative process for recording and composing. And there's lots more, including questions from our discerning guests.

“Rural communities do not exist solely to be extracted from. They are also generative, they can host tech, sic (the example from) our radically Rural biotech (program) is to not just bring (biotech) to but grow from the people and places we already have.” Julianna Dodson, Director of Radically Rural and Deputy Director for the Hannah Grimes Center for Entrepreneurship spoke with us regarding the well documented need and regenerative benefit of our relationships in order for community development, the kind that is lasting and has a net positive effect, to develop. It was clear from our conversation Julianna has a deep commitment to her work and that of countless others bringing people together for business and social benefit in her community of Keene, NH. For those of us building local economies through tech or creative class industries, building a socially cohesive environment is essential for realizing a desirable city to live in. After living in New York City for a decade, JUNO nominated Lebanese-Canadian drummer, composer, educator and producer, Sanah Kadoura, has quickly risen to prominence as a first-call drummer and an inventive composer. She has a special approach to her playing, one that exhibits a rare musicality that infuses melody and nuance into all of her work. Sanah received her Masters of Music in Jazz Drum Set Performance from S.U.N.Y. Purchase in New York. She has produced, recorded or shared the stage with a number of legendary artists including Jon Baptiste, Joe Locke, Frank Lacy, Kirk Lighstey, Philip Harper, Ed Cherry, Mark Whitfield, Roy Hargrove, Jeremy Pelt, Johnny O'Neal, Jazzmeia Horn, Ronnie Foster, among many others. As a member of the Canadian All-Star group Ostara, Sanah recorded drums on their debut album, releasing in 2022. Her new release, ‘Duality', by her description is a blend of modern jazz, neo-soul, and Lebanese influences that weave a balance between dark and light to tell the story of hope and resilience. We discuss the theme, how they intertwine, and the inspiring message of “the flow of life” conveyed through the story.

This time on Jazz Unlimited with Paul Anthony we will feature the dynamic vocal stylings a 30 year singer with the perfect name for her profession, JAZZMEIA HORN. Only two releases to her name since winning the Thelonius Monk Jazz Competition in 2015 and already she has received Grammy Nominations for both of them. In addition the classic Buddy Rich version of the West Side Story Medley. and many more on Jazz Unlimited with Paul Anthony.
In the two years since Jazzmeia Horn, BFA Jazz, and Contemporary Music '14, released the Grammy Award-Nominated A Social Call, she has launched international tours, led masterclasses and workshops globally, and continued to hone her vocal skills while writing songs of personal relevance and social message.
