SEASON 4 EPISODE 62: COUNTDOWN WITH KEITH OLBERMANN A-Block (2:30) SPECIAL COMMENT: In case you somehow missed it, Kash Patel's enablers at the FBI (Fan Boys International) were busily denying he went to Italy for the Olympics just to see the hockey game and jock-sniff the victorious U.S. team when all sorts of video leaked out of the dressing room showing him doing exactly that - dancing, drinking, cringing. And then Patel himself couldn't resist Supposedly we sent 100 agents to help with security and he just had to be there. Guesstimated cost just for his latest stage of his perpetual vacation on our dime? $400,000. It would be bad - a future administration will probably address it as misappropriation of funds. But what makes it worse is there's a piece by Patel from 2022 complaining about previous FBI directors wasting money on vacation, and a clip about his FBI predecessor Christopher Wray's vacation travel. Simply impeaching him is insufficient. He needs to go to prison. NOT THAT TRUMP WOULD DO THAT; THIS IS THE BEHAVIOR TRUMP TEACHES: Trump is a thief and he owes you and me at least 293 billion dollars - and we want it back. The worst thief in American history - and 270 billion of that is in tariffs. Because on tariffs, the Supreme Court has given him his COMEUPPANCE. Well – it’s given him A comeuppance. Because his new argument for the new REPLACEMENT Monday tariffs was his old argument AGAINST overturning the old Friday tariffs. But the key thing the Court actually did was give his cult a mortal shock. It is the first official body to give the Trump-Town Guyana Death Cult the message: that he is making this crap up, as he goes ALONG. -- Plus: an actual good idea from Boris Johnson: to send peacekeepers to Ukraine – NOW. And I’M the guy who thinks the Hockey Gold Medal is a BAD THING. And no, the John Barron who called into C-SPAN wasn’t Trump – he was too coherent. B-Block (40:00) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: Mark Zuckerberg manages to lose a lawsuit before the trial starts, Kid Rock proves he's not charging $5000 for front row tickets by confessing he IS charging $5000 for front row tickets, and Stephen Miller's wife has another one of those Freudian slips that may be desperate pleas for help from inside a bad situation. C-Block (50:00) THINGS I PROMISED NOT TO TELL: Baseball has already started so time for my annual explanation: why I don't work for baseball's TV network even though they offered me my own show and I accepted it. It has to do with a big league club threatening them if they didn't renege.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

In the groundbreaking play “The Comeuppance” by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins, old wounds rise to the surface when a group of friends reunite 20 years after their high school graduation. The Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright wanted to shine a light on the elder millennial demographic — the kids that came of age alongside Columbine and the Sept. 11 attacks. Now, a new Canadian production of “The Comeuppance” is opening at Toronto's Soulpepper Theatre. Branden joins guest host Talia Schlanger to talk about the play and how it looks back on the events that shaped a generation.
It's a proper shit sandwich this week, Trawlers — a little light snack, a heavy main course and a very hopeful bite to finish. Followed, of course, as ever by a delicious pudding. This episode starts with bad news for snack lovers - Penguin bars are no longer technically chocolate (cheers, climate change). Then, Jemma and Marina bite into the grim meat of it all: the racism notch in British politics. From Reform MP Sarah Pochin's rant about “too many foreigners in adverts” to Katie Lam's calls for “cultural coherence,” it's open season for dog whistles. Marina and Jemma discuss how this stuff stopped being whispered and started being cheered. Though rest assured they've also trawled away and come up with plenty of wonderful clips and takes to offset it all, because it goes without saying, millions of people do not feel the same. Which brings them onto the recent council by- election results and what happened in Caerphilly. Wonderful. Reform's balloon well and truly popped.Details of the charity art auction that Jemma mentioned are as follows - ART AUCTION FOR PALESTINE : BID FOR HOPE auction hosts @wynnesteve & @hanazidek . They say that “Confession is good for the soul.” As you are about to hear in this week's PODCAST, how about a confession of vexation? Thank you for listening, and for sharing this message!!! Is there anyone you think of when you hear words like Payback, Retribution, Revenge, Comeuppance, Grudges, Vengeance? Is there someone you wish would experience some of these things? Why is it so easy & natural for us to hold onto someone’s failure, and so hard to extend grace & forgiveness? Why do we treat payback like it’s justice, or bitterness, like it’s righteous wisdom? We don’t say it out loud, but many of us are walking through life carrying receipts. We keep proof of how we’ve been wronged, stacked and ready. But those receipts are heavy, and they’re hurting us. They distort our worship, poison our relationships, and dim the light we’re called to shine in the world. Jesus never modeled retribution. He never once encouraged payback—so why are we so comfortable with it? The way we respond when we’ve been hurt is a clear sign of whether grace is something we actually believe in. If we’ve been rescued from darkness, then it’s time to stop walking around with receipts and start walking in mercy. If any of this gives you pause or pricks your heart, then you need this sermon, because God wants to set you free from the exhausting burden of keeping score.

"Comeuppance" is a word we need to bring back! "Punishment" and "retribution" are good words. But there's just something satisfying about the villain finally getting his comeuppance! In Romans 12, Paul uses the word "Wrath." And today Jim will show that God's wrath is better than our wrath - for at least a couple of reasons. Here's Part 2 of his sermon, Stretch Your Credibility. On this episode I talk and play music that incorporates weird sounds. That's probably not what you expected, but that's what we specialize in here - the unexpected! Like I never thought society would crumble so quickly but here we are. And I'm not going to sugar coat it for you! There will be zero coats made of sugar in this episode. None!Other than that there's nothing much to talk about. Listen to the episode. If you hate it, send me an email going into great detail on this matter. Okay. Thanks! Enjoy the show!!Support the show

FIGHT, FIGHT, FIGHT!! Those are the words that come to mind about this issue. What else can we say. Oh, I know, we can say that we have the awesome Brett Young from the Fantastic Pour podcast. He joined us to talk about how the Wizard brought this on, and now has to rue the consequences. You bet he is going to find out after he messed around. Comeuppance...bring them. If you are asking yourself, how did we come to this horrific location with these terrible choices....than you are not paying attention. The Wizard. He did it. It is all his fault. What is your problem. Do you have something in your eye? Or maybe you have been drinking. And if you have been drinking, what was it? And in what type of receptacle? Remember, if you are drinking out of some crazy horn or round bottomed crystal, that is chaos drinking. Back to the fight. The Wizard deserves everything that he gets. Especially being beaten by a sea monkey on a string. I mean, how can he even show his face at the Bar With No Name after this? And what about Dragon Man? What about Mr. Pacifism? Why would you flame someone in the backside if you are into peace? Nobody wants a heat enema!!! That just leaves us with Blaastar knocking the blocks off of Darla. I really have nothing else to say about this. Not without getting dirty. And that was this issue. It was a thing we read and discussed. Please check out Brett's podcast, Fantastic Pour podcast. Don't be a menace to fellow motorists when failing to use your headlights in the dark - and don't mind while the Gearhead Consultancy laughs its pretty heads off when you get lit up (pun intended) by the Johnnies for DRIVING ON THE FREEWAY IN THE DARK WITH NO LIGHTS. ...Way to act drunk or stoned or just dumb. There's also some cop-on-politician violence (good), the Colorado Highway Patrol versus the CHiPs, a few thoughts on why motorcyclists' shoes fall off all the time, how the $5 billion spent by Joke Biden's DOT bureaucracy (under the deleadership of Pothole Pete) created exactly eight electric car chargers (and how the failure was caused by... bureaucracy...), and an analysis of how ineffective little beta "trucks" like Ford's Maverick are a wonderful analog for the weakness of pajama-clad pepperoni-armed top-knot beta boys. A few thoughts for the gearheads: Do jury duty. It's so much fun (and you'll see law from it's unseemly underside). If you need your car to think for you, you're dumber. Remember when people bragged about being an elitist? Police bodycams are backfiring on politicians. While we're in there - and because the Garage Hour's audience appreciates folks who showed up and brought their A-game - we've got a heartfelt sendoff and Excellent Weirdo RIP for two great neighbors, George and Betty. THE COMEUPPANCEBY BRANDEN JACOBS-JENKINS DIRECTED BY MORGAN GREEN A CO-PRODUCTION WITH WOOLLY MAMMOTH THEATRE COMPANYSet in 2023, Jacobs-Jenkins' witty and moving dark comedy focuses on five friends who reunite 20 years after graduating from a high school in Prince George's County, outside of Washington, D.C. Known as the "Multi-Ethnic Reject Group," the group was once bonded by their outsider status and the traumas of their teenage years. Gathered on a porch ahead of their high school reunion, they reminisce about their younger selves over adult jungle juice and pot as they each reveal how their lives have unfolded since graduation. As the evening continues, they drink, fight, play a truth game, and lament the disappointments of their adult lives. Throughout the evening, they are haunted by a mysterious otherworldly figure that inhabits each character, forcing them to confront the possibility that their past actions may have sealed their present fates irrevocably.Jordan Bellow - EmilioSarah Gliko - KatelynAlana Raquel Bowers - UrsulaTaysha Marie Canales - KristinaJaime Meseda - Francisco/SimonIn this episode, host Darnelle Radford engages with Taysha Canales to discuss the Wilma Theatre's production of 'The Comeuppance' by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins.
