US trade policy and US-China competition concerns are high on the minds of South-east Asia observers. Synopsis: The Straits Times' global contributor Nirmal Ghosh shines a light on Asian perspectives of global and Asian issues with expert guests. Hardening strategic competition with China will remain front and centre of the foreign policy focus of the next US Administration in Washington DC. But while Asian countries have a mixed response to this superpower competition, most seek to stay on the right side of the United States and off the wrong side of China.  Ahead of the US presidential elections on Nov 5, South-east Asia would foresee more continuity under a Kamala Harris Administration, with the Indo Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF, launched in 2022 by the Joe Biden Administration) continuing - while a second Donald Trump regime's approach would be more bilateral, with Washington's relations with individual countries shaped by factors such as trade deficits.  Within the broader context of US-China competition though, South-east Asian countries would be looking for more clarity from Washington on distinctions between trade and investment and economic issues, and national security concerns, as host Nirmal Ghosh finds out in this episode. His guests are: Dr Satu Limaye, director of the East West Centre in Washington DC, creator of the Asia Matters for America initiative, and founding editor of the Asia Pacific Bulletin. Singapore-based APAC Advisors CEO Steven Okun served in the Clinton administration and is a veteran of numerous Democratic presidential campaigns. Congressman Matt Rosendale says the problems we're facing now are a direct result of almost 3 years of the Joe Biden Administration. Biden's damaged the economy so severely we're seeing inflation rates higher than they've been in decades, interest rates higher than they've been in a decade, people are underemployed and wages can't keep up with the rate of inflation. Rosendale says we are funding agencies that were never authorized. If we eliminated spending on these unauthorized agencies, we could get close to eliminating the annual deficit. The national debt is so monumental at $33 trillion, it's projected to be at $50 trillion in five years. When Rosendale and others proposed reducing discretionary spending by just $100 billion, 86% of the cuts were rejected by Republicans. Who would have thought Wuhan Flu would be found in a research lab in Hamilton, Montana? It was brought to the Rocky Mountain Lab a year before the Covid-19 outbreak by Tony Fauci for risky gain of function experiments. Rosendale has proposed an appropriation amendment to end funding for this deadly and dangerous research. GUEST: REP. Today we look at how poorly the Legacy/mainstream media seems to understand any of the basic tenants of democracy. If you believe in democratic principles, you have to believe in the value of debate. You have to cherish the concept of sharing ideas and arguing the merits. Unfortunately, we have unintelligent people who call themselves journalists. Leslie Stahl beclowned herself on the most recent edition of 60 Minutes talking about the 5 day delay for the Congress to start because of the 20 holdouts. She doesn't even really hear the argument she thinks she is making. Were she in a debate, she would have lost before even opening her mouth. I explain why taking time to establish the rules and confidence in a leader may be the most important vote these members of the House will cast. Mollie Hemingway, Editor in Chief of The Federalist, was on the Guy Benson Show where she was asked to comment on Leslie Stahl's inane comment about the opening of the 118th Congress. Without surprise, another Constitutionalist sees things in the same logical and methodical way we do here at The Alan Sanders Show. Next we move to the classified documents discovered back in early November at a private office used by, at the time, Vice President Joe Biden on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. CNN, in a move of brain-dead desperation, decided the best way to spin the issue to protect Joe Biden was to make a side-by-side comparison between the docs found in Biden's possession versus those found in Donald Trump's possession. While they attempt to excuse Biden, they have to hope you do not know the massive distinction they purposely left out of the discussion. That distinction, as we've discussed ad nauseum, Presidents have the Constitutional power to declassify anything they want for any reason, while no other position in government has that same power. Seems the documents contained highly classified subjects related to Iran, the United Kingdom and Ukraine. Why does it seem Ukraine is always part of the discussion over corruption and the Biden Crime Family. We cannot help but remember when he was VP, Joe Biden was asked by President Obama to manage the Ukraine portfolio right at the time his son, Hunter, was placed on the board of the corrupt energy company, Burisma. Constitutional expert and Law Professor Jonathan Turley put out a piece in the New York Post discussing the blatant hypocrisy of Joe Biden and how the Legacy/mainstream media is bending themselves over backwards to provide cover for him. Similarly, Representative Andy Biggs (R-AZ) tweeted Biden broke the law taking classified documents and now we know the Biden Center also received over $54 million dollars from anonymous Chinese donors with ties to the Communist Party. And the timing of those donations happened at the same time Hunter Biden was negotiation with the CEFC energy company in China where Joe Biden was designated as the Big Guy who was owed 10%. Representative Elise Stefanik (R-NY) brings up national security concerns related to these findings, especially related to why the DOJ knew about the issue in early November and we are only just now hearing about it. This ties into the need for the new “Church” committee to be chaired by Representative Jim Jordan (R-OH). The vote to create the committee was voted YES by every Republican, while every Democrat voted NO. That means the modern democrat party has fallen so far from the days of JFK, where today they are admitting they want an authoritarian regime and do not care to follow the Constitution or abide by the Bill of Rights. We end on a moment of stupidity, illustrating just how far gone the Joe Biden Administration has become. The US Consumer Product Safety Commission is looking to ban the use of natural gas stove and ranges for cooking. The absurdity is beyond belief and shows how much this government wants to control every element of your life. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. In today's episode, I start with some basics of economics. Sometimes we hear terms like record sales and record profits, but do we understand what that means? And how does profit margin factor into whether or not a company is raking in the dough? Plus, do corporations really pay taxes? Once that baseline is established, we can dive into a White House full of contradictions and in constant “blame game” mode. We have to deal with Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre who three times evoked the word “patriotic” in a effort to guilt the oil and gas companies into “doing their part.” She quote sales figures and uses the word profit a lot, but without context or understanding, it sounds as if she wants the American people to believe those corporations are taking advantage us. Secretary of Energy, Jennifer Granholm appeared on CNN with John Berman and first asserted Oil is selling for the same $120/barrel today as it was a few months ago, yet prices continue to rise. She does that as a means of blaming the oil companies for making money by raising prices when their costs are the same. Then, in the same segment, says, the price of gasoline always goes up in the summer due to the driving season and demand goes up. Then she says the oil companies are lacking around 100 rigs being used since before Covid, saying they need to get them up and running to meet supply. So, she admits, there is more demand and less supply, but has the audacity to suggest they are purposely raising the price at the pump for no other reason than to make record profits. She also fails to admit that the Administration put policies in place preventing those rigs from going online, preventing new drilling and preventing the means to get the oil to the refineries, either through pipelines, roads or other infrastructure. ExxonMobil, sick of being made a scapegoat, put out a statement to Business Wire, explaining how much they have invested and how much they have lost during the pandemic. They go on to say that “clear and consistent” policies for energy development, such as “regular and predictable lease sales, as well as a a streamlined regulatory approval and support for infrastructure such as pipelines” would allow them to meet the requested demand. Joe Biden still thinks excess spending has nothing to do with inflation, even though President Obama's former economist blames exactly that for our inflation levels. Senator John Kennedy (R-LA) provides a short bite of how misguided the Joe Biden Administration has been, totally out of touch with the average American, doing the exact opposite of what we need to fix inflation and domestic policy. And contrary to Biden's assertion that Americans are making more and have record savings to weather the storm, CNN's John King, along with his panel, show the exact opposite is happening for all but the elites in our country. In today's episode, we have to look at the way Taylor Lorenz, one of the biggest butt-hurt cry-babies in media, tried to characterize the fall of the Disinformation Governance Board. She writes such a biased and slanted piece, it would make even Nina Jankowicz give her a standing ovation. First, she starts by painting some evil and omni-present entity lurking all around us called, “the far right.” She never gives any evidence or detail. In her mean-girl world, that's irrelevant. What's worse, she fails to mention how the owner of the paper where she wrote this screed, Jeff Bezos, mocked Joe Biden over his Ministry of Truth. Additionally, a left-wing opinion columnist for the WaPo, Eugene Robinson, wrote a piece entitled, “The Disinformation Governance Board is a bad name and a sillier idea.” Neither of these were mentioned by cry-bully Lorenz. Civil liberties groups also went after the validity of the the DGB and her sloppy reporting of it. Jameel Jaffer, director of Knights First Amendment Institute at Columbia University tweeted, “This @washingtonpost piece should have acknowledged somewhere – perhaps even at the top? – that some of the criticism of the Biden admin's Disinfo Governance Board came from civil liberties and human rights groups.” Well, when you are in the business of spreading disinformation, why would you let something like “the whole story” enter into your lexicon? Even White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, downplaying the group, said they had never convened due to many “mischaracterizations from outside forces.” (There's those mysterious forces again!) This begged the question from the White House press pool asking if the Disinformation Governance Board was being shut down due to disinformation? Yes, folks, you cannot make this up. It's amazing how the work of this board was touted as being critical to the mission of Homeland Security just two weeks ago and now, less than a month since being introduced, has crumbled. Fox News's Emily Compagno summarizes the situation beautifully, saying it's very existence was antithetical to free speech and was doomed to fail, like most every policy thus far from the Joe Biden Administration. In an effort to end on a more up-lifting note, I close the show with quotes from two people. First, Governor Ron DeSantis destroys a hack Leftist journalist who tried to compare his policies to those of third-world dictatorships. The second comes from the UK rapper Zuby who appeared on the GBN to discuss Black Lives Matter and racisim. His articulate and to-the-point analysis should be required listening by everyone in the race-baiting and race-hustling industry. If it left me feeling positive, hopefully it will do the same for you. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Greg Palast, investigative reporter, joins us to discuss Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger's allegation of being asked by Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) to throw out mail-in ballots in Georgia. "Raffensperger said he was stunned Friday when the South Carolina senator called him and asked several questions about signature matching, including whether the state's top election official could toss all of the mail-in ballots in counties with high rates of mismatched signatures," the Washington Post reported Tuesday. Kevin Gosztola, managing editor of Shadowproof.com, joins us to discuss his latest article for The Grayzone. He argues that US President-elect Joe Biden has appointed "consultants, war profiteers, and national security hawks" to agency review teams "that will set the agenda for his administration." Gosztola writes, "The appointments should provide a rude awakening to anyone who believed a Biden administration could move in a progressive direction, especially on foreign policy."Ted Rall, political cartoonist and syndicated columnist, joins us to discuss a Monday report from the New York Times which said that US President Donald Trump "was dissuaded from moving ahead" with a military strike on an Iranian nuclear site "by advisers who warned that it could escalate into a broader conflict in his last weeks in office."Scott Ritter, former UN weapons inspector in Iraq, joins us to discuss his latest article, "The Return of Obama 'Adults' in a Joe Biden Administration is Likely to Spell Ruin for America." Ritter says that "a potential Biden cabinet would more than likely complement the existing predilection on the part of the president-elect for military intervention, pointing to a foreign and national security policy which not only sustains the current conflicts in Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, and elsewhere, but increases the likelihood of further military misadventures." Daniel Lazare, investigative journalist, and author of "The Velvet Coup," joins us to discuss Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) speaking out Monday against a US military withdrawal from Afghanistan, amid reports that the Pentagon is planning a troop drawdown in the country. McConnell argued that a rapid exit would "delight the people who wish us harm."Nick Davies, author of "Blood on Our Hands: The American Invasion and Destruction of Iraq," joins us to discuss a Monday report from Bloomberg which said that former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger thinks that "the incoming Biden administration should move quickly to restore lines of communication with China that frayed during the Trump years or risk a crisis that could escalate into a military conflict on the level of World War I." Gerald Horne, professor of history at the University of Houston, author, historian and researcher, joins us to discuss a Monday article in MintPress News which said, "Cuba has announced positive and promising results for a number of separate COVID-19 vaccines it is currently developing, but US sanctions against the small island nation are hampering the development and rollout of the potentially life-saving treatments."Mark Shmueli, immigration attorney, activist and former member of the Commission to Study the Impact of Immigrants on Maryland, joins us to discuss how Biden's election win could revive immigration reform talks in the US. "The uphill battle in Congress has immigration reform advocates urging Biden to change the system through executive action, including rolling back Trump orders," The Hill reported Tuesday.

How will the country's response to the coronavirus pandemic change now that Joe Biden will come into power? The Biden-Harris campaign has already announced a Covid advisory board, with a plan that includes more of a national strategy. This means more testing, a national mask mandate, and possibility of more lockdowns which no one wants. Biden would also like to see the CDC more involved and repair the relationship with the WHO. Noah Higgins-Dunn, reporter at CNBC, joins us for what the Biden coronavirus plan is all about. Next, President Trump has refused to concede and has numerous lawsuits hoping to overturn the outcome of the election. Meanwhile, the White House has ordered different agencies not to cooperate with the Biden transition team until the General Services Administration confirms the election. This office needs to sign paperwork that would release funds to the transition team and allow them to begin getting briefings from government offices. Lisa Rein, national reporter at the Washington Post, joins us for how the GSA is holding up the transition.
