Episode Summary: It's Episode 105, and I'm calling this the Tony Womack episode—a tribute to a player I got to know personally while he was coaching my son's high school team. Womack brought incredible energy to the game, and I hope this episode captures some of that as we dive into all things Cubs. The Cubs are off to a hot 9-2 start in spring training, and while wins don't mean much in March, it's been exciting to see young players step up. Today, I tackle a listener mailbag, covering everything from bullpen battles, underrated hitters, and the Cubs' roster depth, to whether the front office made the right moves this offseason. Plus, I'm giving away five Cubs PS Plus hats to some lucky listeners! Key Topics Covered:

Kevin Alcántara was sitting in his room in Arizona in late September, waiting to go back home to the Dominican Republic when he got the call of a lifetime from assistant general manager Jared Banner telling him he was going to the big leagues. The Cubs top prospect recalled that special day and much more on a prospect-heavy podcast that features both him and infielder James Triantos. Alcántara joined host Andy Martínez at Cubs Convention to discuss that special day and what it was like to become a major leaguer. Then, Alcántara discussed the difficult adjustment of going to the United States for the first time and having to learn a new language, culture and the adjustments that come with that. He discusses the friendships he's made with other top 100 prospects in the Cubs organization, including Matt Shaw, Triantos and Owen Caissie. Later in the podcast, another top-100 prospect Triantos discusses his time in the Cubs system and what it's like to be a part of such a talent-laden group. He shares his thoughts on some of the most underrated and underlooked prospects the Cubs have, too. Alcántara and Triantos have both been in the organization long enough to have seen it rise from one of the game's weakest to one of the best. They detail what it's like having seen that and what the players down on the farm share in common as they strive to try and reach Wrigley Field.
I'm on to Chicago in the City Blender series. How do players from the Blackhawks, Cubs, White Sox, Bears, and Bulls stack up? Discussions hit on Seth Jones, Keenan Allen, Josh Giddey, Dansby Swanson, Kevin Korchinski, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Edgar Quero, Kevin Alcantara, Matt Shaw, Frank Nazar, Noah Schultz, Colson Montgomery, Artyom Levshunov, Oliver Moore, De'Andre Swift, DJ Moore, Ian Happ, Nico Hoerner, Zach LaVine, Cody Bellinger, Garrett Crochet, Coby White, Justin Steele, Seiya Suzuki, Nikola Vucevic, Shota Imanaga, Luis Robert, Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze, Connor Bedard, and many more.Subscribe to Dynasty Sports Life for great dynasty talk about four dynasty sports. On this week's episode of From The Back Fields to The Bronx, managing editors Ricky Keeler and Matt Kardos discuss the Yankees big moves as the trade deadline happens today at 4 PM ET. In the last week, New York has added OF Joey Gallo and 1B Anthony Rizzo from the Rangers and Cubs respectively. Keeler and Kardos discuss whether or not the Yankees should have been a buyer with the inconsistencies the team has had all season and how surprising the Rizzo deal was. How can Gallo and Rizzo make this offense better as the team pushes for a postseason bid? Next, they dive into the prospects the Yankees gave up for Gallo (Ezequiel Duran, Trevor Hauver, Josh Smith, Glenn Otto). Did the Yankees give up too much as they cleared their middle infield logjam? Plus, Matt talks about his experience covering Otto, who is expected to make his big league debut for Texas at some point this season. They discuss Kevin Alcantara and Alexander Vizcaino going to the Cubs as well. The duo dives into the job Cashman was able to do in acquiring players without giving up the top 5 prospects in the system and to still stay under the CBT since they had prospect depth. What other moves do the Yankees have in store today? Finally, they react to Max Scherzer and Trea Turner going to the Dodgers and much more.
