Get Season Two of Pillow Talk HERE: https://pillowtalkpod.com"Chloe is mortified. Just in case anybody is unclear about her face, she is mortified," explains Christi as this week's return to your regularly scheduled episode of Dance Moms is just as rough as it's always been. But on "Sister Showdown" things are especially dire for quite literally everybody, and that's pretty wild for a week where the girls take home all the top spots at competition! Maddie doesn't even make it out unscathed (tho she does in the final edit of the episode so tune-in for some tea).Abby still hasn't settled on a new team and welcomes Payton back into the fold. She even gets a spot on the Pyramid despite not being present at the previous competition, but Abby uses her placement to chastise Payton for crying in the dressing room on her last appearance. This causes Payton to cry and leave the room, leaving Leslie officially on the offensive against Abby this week. To let Payton prove herself, Abby makes her the lead of the group number "Lift You Up", inspired by the musical Kinky Boots. But between the garish costuming and iffy choreography, it's hard not to feel as though Abby is still setting Payton up to fail. For perhaps the first time ever, Abby gives solos to both Maddie and Mackenzie for a sister vs sister conflict. It's a lot of pressure for Mackenzie who has to suffer through Abby's constant comparisons between the two. Meanwhile Chloe takes the third solo, a contemporary called Follow You. With the Hylands gone the number of Abby's targets grows smaller, and Chloe is starting to feel the pressure to not end up on Abby's bad side.Quotes“Please know that nothing irritated Abby more than the fact that those kids kept winning." (22:11-22:16 | Christi)“Here's all I'm going to say. If any of the Dance Moms cast goes missing we'll only be missing for less than 24 hours. One of our fans will find us.” (34:49-34:56 | Christi)“It's crazy that like people love [Abby]. Who loves her?! Fans. Hmmm, they have bad taste." (50:40-50:48 | Christi & Kelly)“Leslie, I know we got into a fist fight in New Orleans. I couldn't have your back more here." Hi Mamas, Have you ever met someone who completely changed your life... either by lifting you up or by challenging you in ways you didn't ask for? The truth is, every person we encounter is either a blessing or a lesson… and as busy working moms, we don't have time to waste on relationships that drain us. In today's episode, we're breaking down this quote that I heard while watching a Hallmark Christmas movie... yep, that's right! “People come into our lives as a blessing or a lesson, and it's up to us to figure out which is which.” Let's be real... some people bring nothing but love and joy, while others test our patience, challenge our boundaries, or even push us to grow in ways we never expected. But here's the key: both types serve a purpose in our lives. What You'll Learn in This Episode: ✔️ Blessings: The people who lift us up, support us, and bring joy to our lives ✔️ Lessons: The people who challenge us, test our patience, and help us grow ✔️ How to identify who belongs in each category and how to nurture or release those relationships ✔️ How to set boundaries with ‘lesson' people (because not everyone deserves unlimited access to your energy!) ✔️ Why some people can be both a blessing and a lesson at different stages of life
We can trust that God will lift us out of this life's mess.
One of the things I've talked about before is how I've learned to pay attention to the small stuff, the stuff that feels like more than coincidence. Over the years, I've noticed patterns, symbols and signs that show up, just when I need them. The more I've leaned into this awareness, the more I've realized these small moments can bring comfort, reassurance and even direction. A friend texted me about a white feather that showed up on her car dashboard, pristine and perfectly placed. This reminded me of how I used to dismiss the small stuff as random but later learned to see the meaning. I also started thinking about the role of signs in our lives and how they can be reminders that we are supported and never alone. In this episode, I share my own stories of unexpected signs, like finding pennies everywhere I went and how they led me to a deeper sense of connection. I also share stories from friends who found meaning in butterflies, frogs, numbers and even songs, all of which led us to feel close to loved ones who had passed. Today's Wise Walk encourages you to slow down, check in with yourself and get curious about the signs around you. Do you ever find yourself noticing something that seems out of the ordinary and wonder if it's a sign? When you notice a sign, do you take time to appreciate it, reflect on its meaning, or express gratitude for it? If you don't usually notice signs, are you open to the possibility of them? Are there opportunities for you to pay closer attention and recognize things that stand out in unexpected ways? What do you think a particular sign might mean for you? What signs are showing up for you, and which ones do you want to give meaning to? When you receive these messages, do you take a moment to acknowledge and appreciate them? Do you express gratitude for the signs you notice? How do you recognize and welcome these signs so they continue to appear when you need them? Are there signs appearing in your life, whether through numbers, animals, or objects like feathers or pennies? What are some consistent, unexpected events or reminders that feel meaningful to you right now? Is there something weighing on you, or do you seek comfort, protection, or alignment in some way? Once you give meaning to a sign, can you have fun with it and embrace the playful side? Can you actively look for more of these signs when you need reassurance or guidance? Thanks for joining me today. I would love to hear what resonated with you, what signs you notice in your life, and what they mean to you. I always enjoy learning from your experiences and getting curious together. If you enjoyed this conversation, be sure to tune in next Thursday for another Wise Walk. Until then, stay open, stay curious, and keep noticing the signs around you. In this episode: [02:44] The first time I started to appreciate signs, I was finding pennies all over the place. [04:00] I thought the pennies were a sign from a higher power, but I didn't know what they were trying to tell me. [05:03] I love that many of us feel a presence or connection and are open to receiving messages from beyond in whatever shape or form. [06:04] When my friend's sister was passing on, she said if you see butterflies it's me. Her family saw butterflies in all kinds of shapes and forms. [07:01] The signs were all over the place, and it gave the family great comfort. [08:03] I love the acceptance and receiving of signs that lift us up. The more we notice, the more we receive. [08:59] We all have ups and downs in life. These signs can be so comforting. [09:50] White feathers generally mean an angelic presence or protection. [12:18] Sometimes when I'm in a rough patch and need a reminder that I'm not alone, I'll just start looking for pennies. [14:02] I love that we can communicate our inner wants and needs and be surprised and delighted when we're open to receiving. [15:09] Start noticing any patterns that consistently show up for you. [16:22] If you think you've received a sign, you have. Memorable Quotes: “The more we notice, the more we receive. And when we acknowledge these moments with gratitude, they have a way of showing up just when we need them most.” - Mary Tess “If something catches your attention and makes you pause, trust that it's meant for you. The universe has a way of speaking in whispers—you just have to listen.” - Mary Tess “Sometimes, all we need is a little reminder that we are loved, protected, and supported. Those reminders are all around us if we choose to see them.” - Mary Tess Links and Resources: Mary Tess Rooney Email Facebook | LinkedIn | Twitter | Instagram Heart Value
4 What causes fights and quarrels among you? Don't they come from your desires that battle within you? 2 You desire but do not have, so you kill. You covet but you cannot get what you want, so you quarrel and fight. You do not have because you do not ask God. 3 When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures. 4 You adulterous people,[a] don't you know that friendship with the world means enmity against God? Therefore, anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think Scripture says without reason that he jealously longs for the spirit he has caused to dwell in us[b]? 6 But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”[c] 7 Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. 8 Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. 11 Brothers and sisters, do not slander one another. Anyone who speaks against a brother or sister[d] or judges them speaks against the law and judges it. When you judge the law, you are not keeping it, but sitting in judgment on it. 12 There is only one Lawgiver and Judge, the one who is able to save and destroy. But you—who are you to judge your neighbor?Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/faith-love-trust--3493635/support.
As we step into 2025, we wanted to pause and reflect on some of the incredible conversations we had in 2024. This episode celebrates some of our favorite moments, featuring powerful stories and insights from remarkable athletes. Here are just a few highlights: Caster Semenya, 2x Olympic champ and 3x World champ, reflects on her role as an advocate for women in sports: "It's about time we, as women, decide what is right for us. If women are respected, given opportunities, and treated equally, I will finally feel peace." Marine Fatoumatta Camara, Mali's first-ever female Olympic boxer shares the challenges of representing an African nation: "Competing for Mali is harder than people realize—lack of funding, political issues, and constant underestimation make every win even more rewarding." Anastasia Pagonis, 2x Paralympian, describes the freedom swimming gives her: "In the pool, I feel like a mermaid—it's the one place where my disability doesn't hold me back." Bryony Page, Olympic trampoline champion, opens up about overcoming fear in her sport: "Fear brings focus. Instead of dwelling on what could go wrong, I learned to focus on what will make me perform well."

It's probably the worst race, but it's always better when it's over.” -Farida Osman, Egyptian Olympic swimmer shares her journey to coping with expectations and pressure: “I realized I need to work with a sports psychologist to cope with expectations and pressure.” --------

When we read the Old Testament story of Joseph, we see a picture of the whole life and ministry of Jesus. One key theme that is evident within whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, God will lift us up! Let's listen as we study together how God lifted up Joseph. We will see how this reflects how Jesus, will in turn, lift you up.
We often underestimate just how powerful an influence our relationships can have on us. The people we surround ourselves with—their attitudes, energy, and support or lack thereof—shape not only our day-to-day experiences but also the paths we take in life. And yet, many of these influences happen in the background, almost without us noticing. In today's episode, we're diving into this idea of consciously choosing our circle. We'll explore how to evaluate the people in our lives, identify which relationships truly lift us up, and consider how we can make more intentional decisions about who we spend our time with. Our relationships can be one of the greatest assets to our growth and well-being—or they can quietly hold us back.❤️

Do you remember the promise of flying cars? Wouldn't that be amazing! It sure would be nice for those times we're stuck in a traffic jam with folks cutting each other off, envying those who were further ahead, and jockeying to see who could get in front of the other. James hints at a similar situation. In our culture where everyone is out for themselves there's going to be plenty of folks trying to cut each off in their rush to the top. It leads to frayed nerves and frustration. Tempers flare and resentment sets in. So, what's the answer? James tells us!

Today's promise: Psalm 37:23-24 Falling and failure are part of life. Most of us have or will have a great fall. It may be a financial fall, could be a relational fall, or even a moral fall. No matter what your fall looks like, it is common to all of us. For the Christian, there never has to be a fatal fall. You can survive, get back up, and keep going. Why? Because God has you by the hand. He is there, ready to pull you back up and get you going again.
