British citizens who identify as Jewish

On April 29th in London, an attacker stabbed a Muslim acquaintance before traveling to the largely Jewish neighborhood of Golders Green and stabbing two Jewish men at random. This was only the latest in a string of attacks on Jews, synagogues, or other communal infrastructure in the UK since mid-March; other instances have included arson attacks on three synagogues as well as Hatzola ambulances. The British Jewish community—already on edge since the Yom Kippur attack on a Manchester synagogue that killed two and injured three—is in a state of rising alarm. Predictably, Jewish communal leaders, politicians, and the police have baselessly sought to tie the attacks to the Palestine solidarity movement, justifying crackdowns in civil liberties and proposing increased police budgets. The backdrop to these attacks is a local election cycle in which the two major parties, Conservative and Labour, lost substantial ground to tertiary parties on their wings: Reform on the right, and the Green Party on the left. Though newly elected members of the Reform Party include avowed racists and Holocaust deniers, much of the media attention has been on candidates whom the Green Party has removed from contention because of charges of antisemitism. There is particular focus on the head of the Green Party, 43-year-old Zack Polanski, whose Jewish identity and pro-Palestine stance has shattered some of the received wisdom about who British Jews are, announcing a new era in UK Jewish left politics. To discuss the London attacks and their political fallout, Arielle Angel speaks with Brendan McGeever, co-director of the Birkbeck Institute for the Study of Antisemitism at the University of London, and Em Hilton, co-founder of Na'amod, an organization of British Jews opposing Israeli occupation and apartheid. They parse what we do and don't know about these attacks, and critique the government's response, which casts Jews as special wards of the state at the expense of civil liberties and the safety of other minority groups. Thanks to Jesse Brenneman for editing and to Nathan Salsburg for the use of his song “VIII (All That Were Calculated Have Passed).”Articles Mentioned and Further ReadingBrendan McGeever in the Jewish Currents newsletterJewish Policy Research survey on UK Jews' feelings about antisemitism, UK Jewish voters voting Green, and UK Jewish identification with Zionism“The present crisis,” editors of Vashti “Good Jews, Bad Jews,” Barnaby Raine interviewed by Gavin Jacobson, Equator“The difficult truth about antisemitism in the UK,” Brendan McGeever, Ben Gidley, David Feldman, Prospect“Anti-terrorist programme Prevent ‘outdated and inadequately prepared', report finds,” Rajeev Syal, The GuardianDavid Cameron's 2015 speech at the Community Security Trust Keir Starmer echoing Enoch Powell“U.K. Vows Crackdown on Pro-Palestinian Protests After Latest Antisemitic Attack,” David Luhnow, Wall Street Journal“Five members of biggest British Jewish body suspended after Israel criticisms,” Harriet Sherwood, The Guardian“Processing the Attack at Bondi Beach,” On the Nose, Jewish CurrentsAshok Kumar on Julia Hartley-Brewer“Over 2,000 U.K. Jews Sign Petition Against Nigel Farage Attending Antisemitism Rally,” Hagar Shezaf, Haaretz“How Palestine Action put the justice system on trial,” Rikki Blue, Declassified UK “Zack Polanski's Jewish identity is being erased because he is leftwing,” Owen Jones, The GuardianZack Polanski on Sky News“Green Party candidate arrested over antisemitic social media posts,” Athena...
Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring one key issue currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World. This week, founding editor David Horovitz speaks with CEO of the British Board of Deputies Michael Wegier. Wegier has been the CEO of the Board, the umbrella organization representing Anglo-Jewry, for the past five years -- an increasingly fraught period, especially since October 7, 2023. Anti-Israel demonstrators routinely march through central London, Palestine Action activists have attacked Israeli targets, a cultural boycott of Israel has picked up steam... We discuss how things have changed for Britain's Jews, especially amid a stream of antisemitic attacks, including deadly terrorism at a Manchester synagogue last Yom Kippur and the stabbing of two Jewish men in northwest London's Golders Green neighborhood last month. Wegier talks about who is behind the violence, how the police are facing up to it, and the role of Keir Starmer's Labour government. We also look more widely at British politics from a Jewish context, with this month's local elections marked by the dramatic rise of the hard-right UK Reform party, and unprecedented gains by a Green Party engulfed in antisemitism scandals, under a Jewish leader who made vicious criticism of Israel a centerpiece of the campaign. Finally, we look at the relationship between Anglo-Jewry and Israel, and the degree to which what Wegier describes as the "anxiety" in the community about day-to-day life is prompting thoughts of potential emigration to Israel. So this week, we ask Michael Wegier, what matters now? What Matters Now podcasts are available for download on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, YouTube or wherever you get your podcasts. The Iran war may be over — or it may not. In the space of a few hours this week, Washington ordered warships into the Strait of Hormuz, paused the operation, threatened to resume bombing at higher intensity, and then declared peace was near. Yonit and Jonathan cut through the chaos — and ask the question the ceasefire deal still hasn't answered: what happened to Iran's nuclear stockpile? Also this week: Bezalel Smotrich calls October 7th "a tactical failure" and says including Arab parties in government would be a thousand times worse. Gadi Eisenkot and former Shin Bet chief Yoram Cohen join forces. Netanyahu's plea deal murmurs get louder. The UK goes to the polls with antisemitism front and center. And the Chutzpah and Mensch awards both go to the same unlikely figure: Nick Cave, who told a hostile fan to go F himself — and blamed his wife's absence. As stabbing against Jews in Golders Green rises up, again, the question of security of Jewish communities around the world, Israel starts the countdown: 6 months to the elections. Yonit and Jonathan discuss the Golders Green knife attack and the wave of antisemitism hitting Britain since October 7th; the Bennett–Lapid merger and what it means for Israel's October elections; whether the Iran–Israel war is on pause or simply reloading; Jake Sullivan's bombshell statement on arms sales to Israel; and — in the awards — Israeli police cutting a Palestinian flag from a Jewish man's kippah, and King Charles delivering a Magna Carta reminder to Congress that Democrats jumped to their feet for. After a spate of attacks and foiled plots against British Jews since the the events of October 7th and the Iran war, including the stabbing of two men in Golders Green yesterday, many Jewish people say they do not feel safe in the UK any more. So, why have we seen this horrifying rise in attacks? And what can be done about it? On this episode of The Fourcast, Krishnan Guru-Murthy spoke to a range of guests from across the legal, cultural and security landscape: journalist Hadley Freeman, British-Israeli analyst and author Daniel Levy and former counter terrorism chief Nick Aldworth.
Condemnation is the only thing your government has produced at the scale this moment requires.
Howard Jacobson has screamed "liar" at the BBC, lost friends over a newspaper article, and started asking his wife whether it's still safe to live in London. Now he's written a novel about all of it. *Howl* is the story of Ferdinand Draxler — Jewish headmaster, reluctant marcher, man on the edge — who watches the world he believed in applaud the October 7th massacre and descends into a rage that may or may not be madness. Jacobson says he borrowed quite a lot from the last two years of his life. In this Unholy Conversations episode, Jacobson talks with Yonit and Jonathan about the ungovernable anger behind the novel, why he chose comedy as the only honest vehicle for it, the friends who wrote accusing him of celebrating Palestinian deaths, the Manchester synagogue where he was bar mitzvahed and which was attacked on Yom Kippur, and the question he can't shake: what would we have done in Berlin in 1932? This week on the rocket, co-pilots Halligan and Pearson dive into the political firestorm engulfing Westminster as Sir Keir Starmer faces intense scrutiny over the botched appointment of Peter Mandelson as Ambassador to the US. Following explosive evidence from former civil servant Sir Olly Robbins, the duo explores the ‘process-driven' culture of the current government and whether it is shielding a lack of transparency.Liam explains why even a potential ceasefire or the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz may not be enough to prevent a global energy crisis. Over the last week, a spate of Jewish communal targets have been attacked in North London. According to its founder Theodore Herzl, Zionism was supposed to normalize the position of Jews in the world. Has Zionism failed or is a new consensus form of Zionism still the answer to these outbursts of Disorderly Antisemitism? In 2026, April 21 is Israel's Independence Day. These are tough times for the Jewish State in international public opinion. By all accounts it has made mistakes, violated international law, committed war crimes. But it has also been defending itself against an unprecedented multipronged assault. Other states don't risk losing their international legitimacy because they have bad or immoral leadership. Support among Americans and Europeans for Israel is down and even young diasporic Jews report increasingly negative appraisals of Israel. To investigate the situation in the Middle East, the position of Jews in Britain, and the rise of anti-semitic attacks on Britain's Jewish community, I am joined by returning Champion Phil Rosenberg. He is the President of the Board of Deputies of British Jews. Phil is a former Labour councilor for West Hampstead and previously Director of the Faiths Forum for London. In today's episode, we wish to use this commemorative day to look at a few deeper questions: How is Antisemitism surging globally and why? How does Antisemitism manifest itself in the UK and Australia and how it is fascinating how differently it portrays from anti-Americanism? What is Zionism? Is it relevant in today's world? Is it part of an orderly world or is it a Disordering ideal? What is the Role of international entities and Diasporic Jews in supporting Israel's right to defend itself while criticizing certain policies? Wireless Festival has been cancelled, following the government's decision to block Kanye West's permission to travel to the UK. The American rapper, who's now known as Ye, was due to headline the festival in Finsbury Park in the summer. He has a long history of antisemitic comments and actions, including writing a song glorifying Adolf Hitler. Mr West has blamed this on a brain injury and missed Bi-polar diagnosis. He has apologised and says he has reached out to the Jewish community in the UK. On this episode of The Fourcast, Keme Nzerem is joined by Dr. Toby Greene from the Board of Deputies of British Jews and music journalist Yemi Abiade.
It took five years of DNA testing, forensic analysis and genealogical sleuthing to restore his name — and reveal a hidden past. Pte. Albert Henry Detmold, was the son of British Jews from London, and the nephew of Rufus Isaacs — better known as Lord Reading — who served as Britain's Chief Justice and later as Viceroy of India. It is the first time since Canada launched its missing war identification unit in 2007 that a Jewish soldier has been identified, although Detmold enlisted instead as Presbyterian. In this episode of The CJN's “North Star” podcast, host Ellin Bessner speaks with the historians and forensic experts who identified Detmold through DNA and traced his family. Sarah Lockyer, Alexandra McKinnon and Melissa Davidson of the Department of National Defence's Casualty Identification Unit describe how they uncovered both his identity — and a family history that had been largely forgotten. Rabbi Jonathan Romain discusses how Britain's Jewish communities are represented in UK media, particularly the BBC, against the backdrop of the current Middle East crisis. We examine the diversity of opinion among British Jews on Israel and the Netanyahu government, the meaning and use of the term "Zionism", and the distinction between criticism of Israel and antisemitism. We also explore the rising reports of antisemitic incidents in the UK, the impact of events in the Middle East on community relations, the development of interfaith work between Jews and Muslims, and the level of religious literacy within BBC newsrooms and public service broadcasting more widely.Have your say in the government's consultation by 10 March: https://www.gov.uk/government/consultations/britains-story-the-next-chapter-the-bbc-royal-charter-review-green-paper-and-public-consultation/britains-story-the-next-chapter-bbc-royal-charter-review-green-paper-and-public-consultationSuggested answers: British Broadcasting Challenge: https://britishbroadcastingchallenge.com/The Sandford St Martin Trust: https://sandfordawards.org.uk/religion-and-the-future-of-the-bbc-have-your-say/Listen to all our episodes here: https://podfollow.com/beebwatch To support our journalism and receive a weekly blog sign up now for £1.99 per month www.patreon.com/BeebWatch/membership @beebwatch.bsky.social@BeebRogerInstagram: rogerboltonsbeebwatchLinkedIn: Roger Bolton's Beeb Watchemail: roger@rogerboltonsbeebwatch.com Hosted on Acast. Welcome to What Matters Now, a weekly podcast exploring key issues currently shaping Israel and the Jewish World, with host Jessica Steinberg speaking with Unholy podcast hosts Yonit Levi and Jonathan Freedland. In this episode, Channel 12 news anchor Levi and Guardian columnist and BBC Radio 4's Jonathan Freedland look back on five years of podcasting together on "Unholy: Two Jews on the News," their weekly show that offers the perspectives of a Jewish Israeli and a Diaspora Jew. Freedland and Levi discuss their intention to foster dialogue between Israel and the diaspora at a time when those conversations have become increasingly difficult. They delve into the types of conversations carried out on "Unholy" following the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack, and how the podcast became a lifeline for them as much as their listeners, as the Jewish community worldwide has grappled with the massacre, bereavement, hostage crisis, and the war in Gaza. The two hosts discuss their own approaches as Levi is a Jewish Israeli who spent a portion of her childhood in the US, and Freedland is a British Jew who views Judaism and Israel through his own lens. They also chew over the intimacy of the podcast medium for them, particularly given Levi's usual role as a popular news anchor, with her face and voice familiar to most of the Israeli public. The podcast has created a setting that offers a different kind of opportunity for Levi and Freedland, their guests, and their listeners, with the capacity to foment real conversation and debate. Levi and Freedland reminisce about earlier, favorite episodes and the years when the podcast tackled other subjects, such as musicals or literature, and with different kinds of guests, including Etgar Keret, Howard Jacobson, and Helen Mirren. They talk about the books they each published this past year, including Freedland's 14th, a non-fiction historical thriller, "The Traitors Circle: The True Story of a Secret Resistance Network in Nazi Germany—and the Spy Who Betrayed Them." Levi's book, her first, was written with her friend and CNN anchor Bianna Golodryga. "Don't Feed the Lion" is for middle-grade readers and Levi talks about how young people grapple with antisemitism. Did you see the news that the Trump administration is considering offering asylum to British Jews as conditions for Jews in the UK grow increasingly dangerous? While it is reassuring that a country is willing to protect Jewish lives, the proposal also reveals a tragic misunderstanding of Jewish history and destiny: Jews do not need another place to flee to; we need to come home, to our ancestral homeland of Israel.Join Our Whatsapp Channel: https://chat.whatsapp.com/GkavRznXy731nxxRyptCMvFollow us on Twitter: https://x.com/AviAbelowJoin our Telegram Channel: https://t.me/aviabelowpulseFollow us on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/pulse_of_israel/?hl=enPulse of Israel on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/IsraelVideoNetworkVisit Our Website - https://pulseofisrael.com/Donate to Pulse of Israel: https://pulseofisrael.com/boost-this-video/

British Airways has paused its sponsorship of The Louis Theroux Podcast following an interview with Bob Vylan's frontman. Pascal Robinson-Foster, one half of the controversial punk duo, told Theroux in an episode which aired a few days ago that he was "not regretful" of chanting "death, death to the IDF " at this year's Glastonbury music festival. He added that he would "do it again, twice on Sundays." British Airways said on Saturday that the content "breaches" its sponsorship policy and has since paused its advertising on the podcast. Meanwhile, there is pressure from the Jewish community and elsewhere on the BBC to withdraw its support for the Louis Theroux Podcast after he referred in the podcast interview to Zionism as "a form of white supremacy." KAN's Mark Weiss spoke with Leo Pearlman who owns Fulwell Entertainment, a British television, film and music production company.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

There is much said in this episode that Jason does not agree with but rather than constantly arguing with the guest, Jason is committed to presenting different points of view and tried to err on the side of letting Sam speak so the listener can make up their own mind, especially when contrasting the narrative with the episode with Phil Rosenberg from last week. Sam and Jason discuss the implications of the recently announced and implemented Trump's ‘Eternal Peace' which is really just a Gaza ceasefire in exchange for Israeli hostage releases, the realities of life in the West Bank under Israeli occupation, the economic challenges of reconstruction of Gaza and standing up Palestinian institutions, and the role of the international community states in those state building and reconstruction efforts. Jason and Sam disagree agreeably about the role of the international community and technocratic governments in Palestine and beyond, while Bahour emphasizes the need for Palestinian self-determination and leadership. And as Sam Orders the Disorder, he highlights how changing dynamics in U.S. support for Israel and Palestine could result in a different dynamic in the Middle East. “Shocking... but not surprising” - the words of Stephen Bush, Associate Editor at the Financial Times and Chair of the Commission on Racial Inclusivity in the Jewish Community for the Board of Deputies of British Jews in 2020. Stephen joins Nish and Coco to discuss the fallout from the shocking attack on a synagogue in Manchester last week. The trio discuss solidarity and protest, and why the government's response to the Manchester attack is not making all British Jews feel safer. Stephen has also spent the weekend in an all-but empty exhibition hall, at Tory conference in Manchester. It's a land of misspelt chocolate bars and retro racism - have the Tories given up the ghost? Hello and welcome to this week's episode of The Fertility Podcast. I'm Natalie, and this is a slightly different one. Please note the trigger warning on this episode. As it is Baby Loss Awareness Week, I want to hold space for anyone who has experienced loss, is grieving, or is navigating uncertainty in their fertility journey. In this episode, I'm resharing a previous conversation hosted by Kate Davis, my former co-host and an independent fertility nurse. Kate spoke with Jade, who bravely shared her story of miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy. This episode comes with a trigger warning as it discusses pregnancy loss in detail. If this is not the right time for you to listen, please take care of yourself and maybe explore other episodes from our ten-year archive. Before we return to Jade's episode, I want to briefly share something personal.Last week, my family and I were caught up in the terrorist attack in Manchester during Yom Kippur, one of the holiest days in the Jewish calendar. We were at our synagogue when the lockdown happened. My husband, who volunteers for our community's security, was outside in a stab-proof vest, which is a sad reality for British Jews. We spent the day on edge, and in the days since, it has taken a toll emotionally. I want to thank those who reached out with kindness and acknowledgement. If you have Jewish friends or colleagues, please take a moment to check in. A small gesture goes a long way. Now, back to this important episode.About this episodeIn this powerful re-shared conversation, Kate speaks with Jade, who opens up about her journey through multiple pregnancy losses, including two ectopic pregnancies. Jade shares her experience navigating diagnosis, advocating for her own care, and the emotional and physical recovery process. This episode deals extensively with issues of antisemitism, humanitarian suffering in Gaza, and the potentialities of Middle East peace. As we mark 2 years since the horrific October 7th massacre in Israel -- and the disastrous regional wars and tragic humanitarian crisis in Gaza that have ensued in its wake-- we here at Disorder are producing a two-episode series dealing with the legacy of that fateful day: one from a British-Jewish perspective and one from a Palestinian-American perspective. To start with, we're joined by Phil Rosenberg, President of The Board of Deputies of British Jews. Phil is the highest-ranking communal official representing the Jewish community to the UK government and media. Jason and Phil discuss the ongoing ramifications of the attacks on Jewish life in the UK, the rise of global antisemitism, and the role played by misinformation and conspiracy theories in manipulating public perception of Jews. Plus: is the UK's position on the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict a help or a hinderance? And did the mass of Western states recognising a Palestinian state actually move the needle towards a two-state solution or has it just further entrenched the conflict? Join us next week to hear our conversation with Sam Bahour, who will give the perspective from Ramallah. So what is life like for British Jews in 2025 and with the government already under pressure for its handling of pro-Palestine protests, how will it respond? UK Editor Paul Brand tells Nina Hossain what you need to know.

It's Friday, October 3rd, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslim terrorist shot dead outside British synagogue on Yom Kippur On Thursday, a British terrorist of Syrian descent drove a car into people outside a synagogue in Manchester, England and then began stabbing them, killing two Jews and seriously wounding four others in a terrorist attack on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which is the holiest day of the Jewish calendar, reports the Associated Press. Officers shot and killed the suspect though authorities took some time to confirm he was dead because he was wearing a vest that made it appear as if he had explosives. Authorities later said he did not have a bomb. The man has been identified as 35-year-old Jihad Al-Shamie, a British citizen of Syrian descent, where 87% of the population is Muslim, reports the BBC. The Metropolitan Police in London, who lead counter-terrorism policing operations, declared the rampage a terrorist attack. Assistant Commissioner Laurence Taylor said two other suspects were arrested, though he provided no further information on the arrests. British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, an atheist, denounced the attack on the Jewish synagogue. STARMER: “Earlier today, on Yom Kippur, the holiest day for the Jewish community, a vile individual committed a terrorist attack that attacked Jews because they are Jews, and attacked Britain because of our values. “So many Jewish families first came to this country as a place of refuge fleeing the greatest evil ever inflicted on a people and Britain welcomed them. Communities like the one attacked in Manchester provided safety, but also the security that comes from a promise that this is a country that stands up to hatred and that we don't just provide refuge, we provide a home for so many Jewish families, that is the story of Britain. “But Britain is also a country where Jewish buildings, synagogues, even schools, require round-the-clock protection, where dedicated, specialist security is necessary because of the daily threat of antisemitic hatred. Today's horrific incident shows why.” Antisemitic incidents in the United Kingdom have hit record levels following Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack on Israel and Israel's ensuing military campaign in Gaza, according to Community Security Trust, an advocacy group for British Jews that works to eliminate antisemitism. More than 1,500 antisemitic incidents in Britain were reported in the first half of the year. Pope Leo blasts Trump's hard-line immigration policy as not “pro-life” Pope Leo XIV strongly criticized President Donald Trump's hardline immigration policies, questioning whether they were in line with the Catholic church's “pro-life” teachings, reports The Guardian. Outside the papal summer residence in the Alban Hills, near Rome, this is what Pope Leo, the first American pope, said about Trump in response to a question from a U.S. journalist. POPE LEO: “Someone who says that I'm against abortion, but I'm in agreement with the inhuman treatment of immigrants who are in the United States, I don't know if that's pro-life.” White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt reacted. LEAVITT: “I would reject there is inhumane treatment of illegal immigrants in the United States under this administration, there was, however, significant, inhumane treatment of illegal immigrants in the previous administration as they were being trafficked and raped and beaten and in many cases, killed over our United States southern border.” Texas megachurch pastor pleads guilty to sexually abusing a child The founder of a Texas megachurch who resigned last year after a woman in Oklahoma accused the pastor of sexually abusing her in the 1980s pleaded guilty Thursday to five counts of lewd and indecent acts with a child, reports KLTV. Robert Morris, age 64, entered the pleas before a judge in Oklahoma's Osage County as part of a plea agreement, according to the state attorney general's office. The abuse began in 1982 when the victim was 12 and Morris was a traveling evangelist staying in Hominy, Oklahoma, with her family. The abuse continued over the next four years. Numbers 32:23 says, “You have sinned against the Lord, and be sure your sin will find you out.” Morris was the senior pastor of Gateway Church in the Dallas-Fort Worth suburb of Southlake, where he led one of the nation's largest megachurches until his resignation. He was indicted earlier this year by an Oklahoma grand jury. Under the plea agreement, Morris received a 10-year suspended sentence with the first six months to be served in an Oklahoma County Jail. Christian wedding photographer wins in court A federal court has sided with a Christian photographer challenging misguided mandates she believes would force her to take pictures at a homosexual wedding despite her religious objections, reports The Christian Post. This is the latest example of U.S. courts ruling in favor of religious liberty protections. In the opinion published Tuesday, the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky sided with photographer Chelsey Nelson in her ongoing legal dispute with the city of Louisville. Miami Dolphins player Tua Tagovailoa credits Jesus after win And finally, Miami Dolphins player Tua Tagovailoa (Tah-go-VYE-lo-a) thanked and glorified God after his team's win in a recent game, marking the latest example of the athlete using his platform to highlight his Christian faith, reports The Christian Post. On Monday, the Miami Dolphins beat the New York Jets 27-21 in a game between the two National Football League teams. In a post-game interview with Peter Schrager following Monday's game, Tagovailoa did not hesitate to give God the glory. Listen. SCHRAGER: “You come out with a victory. All three facets dominated. The Jets today, your impression and take on the game." TAGOVAILOA: “First and foremost, all glory belongs to God, my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Just want to thank Him for this victory, for keeping us safe for the most part. My prayers go out to all the guys that got injured tonight. My boy Tyreke. It was a team win. That's all it was. That's all I could say about this. It was hard fought to the end. Just wanted to make sure that I glorified my Lord and Savior, Jesus, Christ.” His post-game interview was not the first time the athlete has put his Christian faith on display. In 2018, as a college football player for the University of Alabama, Tagovailoa reacted to his team's win against the Georgia Bulldogs by proclaiming, “First and foremost, I'd just like to thank my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. With Him, all things are possible.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 says, “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, October 3rd, in the year of our Lord 2025. On Tuesday's Mark Levin Show, there's enthusiasm for Christian revivals and Judeo-Christian values, but there are those exploiting faith to divide Jews and Christians, including a blood libel invoked by Tucker Carlson during the Charlie Kirk memorial service. People like Carlson, Candace Owens, Steve Bannon and others promote Jew hatred, aligning with Marxists, Islamists, and neo-Nazis rather than true conservatives like Presidents Trump or Reagan. The left-wing media amplifies them to smear patriotic Americans. We will not tolerate attacks on Christians, Jews, American WWII soldiers, or excuses for Hitler. We're gearing up for a massive political battle in 2028 within the GOP. We will see who turns out the most votes and who builds the strongest coalitions. And then there's the general election, which cannot be won without constitutional conservatives. We've had enough of the grifters and neo-Nazis, the Marxists and Islamists, and their patsies and lapdogs in the media and politics. Also, the Jimmy Kimmel's suspension was never a battle over free speech or government control of speech. Kimmel was dropped because he's a loathsome punk who made a highly inappropriate comment about the political assassination of Charlie Kirk. The chairman of the FCC had no role in any of it, no matter what he said or did not say. So, there's no 1st amendment at issue, despite the best efforts to concoct one. Kimmel is being brought back because he's a liberal propagandist loved by Democrat Party hacks and the pressure they brought on ABC. Afterward, Tommy Robinson has long been criticized by the media and political establishment, but many of us see him as someone who's bravely spoken out about uncomfortable truths. His warnings about radical Islam and unchecked migration were dismissed for years, yet recent events have shown he wasn't wrong to raise the alarm. Since the explosion of antisemitism after October 7, more British Jews are beginning to see the value in what he's been saying. Finally, Bill O'Reilly calls in to discuss his new book, Confronting Evil: Assessing the Worst of the Worst. This book is a warning to Americans not to look away but to actively choose right over wrong, lest evil grows more powerful. https://www.amazon.com/Confronting-Evil-Assessing-Worst/dp/1250374049 Learn more about your ad choices. The question of what is antisemitic and what is legitimate criticism of the state of Israel has long been a difficult question—but it has become even more fraught since 7th October 2023 and the continuing atrocities in Gaza. On 31st July 2025, Prospect brought two experts together to debate and discuss which kinds of speech and criticism are acceptable. Jo Glanville is the editor of Looking for an Enemy: Eight Essays on Antisemitism, while Dave Rich is head of policy at the Community Security Trust, whose stated mission is to work for the physical protection of British Jews. They both join Prospect's Alan Rusbridger and Alona Ferber to discuss what people misunderstand about anti-Jewish prejudice, and how it relates to Israel. To read an edited excerpt of this interview, click here. In this powerful and timely episode, Adam sits down with Olivier Award-winning director-turned-writer Mark Rosenblatt, the creative force behind Giant, the searing and sensational play that explores the genius and the darkness of Roald Dahl. Starring the legendary John Lithgow—who also took home an Olivier for Best Actor—Giant dives deep into the tangled web of brilliance, grief, controversy, and antisemitism that surrounded one of the world's most beloved and most complicated authors. Recorded in front of a live audience in central London to mark the 20th anniversary of The Heart Cells Foundation, this episode celebrates creativity, courage, and the quiet revolution of stepping into your truth. Just three days before filming, Mark received his own Olivier at the Royal Albert Hall, presented by Ewan McGregor and Elizabeth Debicki. In an emotional and honest conversation, he shares what it felt like to be recognised for his first-ever play and the journey that took him from self-doubt to centre stage. Mark reveals how the seed for Giant was planted when Sir Nicholas Hytner casually suggested he might try writing—an idea that sat dormant until lockdown gave him the space to bring it to life. Inspired by his own childhood love of Dahl's stories, and compelled by the writer's antisemitic remarks during the Lebanon War era, Mark began to unpick the moral complexity of Dahl's legacy. Rather than cancelling Dahl, Mark chose to examine him—with empathy, intellectual honesty, and a dramatic lens that lets the audience grapple with their own beliefs. We talk about the emotional weight of writing as a British Jew exploring antisemitism, the tension of launching a controversial play amid the Israel-Gaza conflict, and how Dahl's personal tragedies—from his daughter's death to his son's life-altering accident—informed both his work and Giant itself. With John Lithgow perfectly cast as Dahl (thanks to Hytner's inspired suggestion) and Elliot Levey winning Best Supporting Actor, Giant has become one of the most talked-about plays in the West End. A Broadway transfer is on the cards. This episode is a tribute to the healing power of art, the bravery of reinvention, and the impact of asking bold questions in a world that often demands easy answers. Special thanks to The Heart Cells Foundation for their incredible work and for hosting this unforgettable live event. www.heartcellsfoundation.com admin@heartcellsfoundation.com
