Matt Maust is the bass player for Cold War Kids, a visual artist and a t-shirt shirt collector based in Los Angeles. Ryan Kattner is a singer, composer, actor and founding member of the band Man Man. In this special episode, Joe talks with long time pals and bandmates about the movie Pavements, the experimental docufiction meta biopic about the legendary Stockton California band, Pavement. We begin with Ryan and Matt's experience with Pavement, their contrasting introductions to the band at different times of their lives and how they view Pavement's significance in their own rock n roll worlds. Next, Matt and Ryan share their passionate, thoughtful, and elaborate reviews of Pavements, including their expectations going in and their thoughts on rock docs in general. Ryan tells us why Stephen Malkmus made him quit playing guitar, Matt somehow keeps the subject of t-shirts in the conversation, and we get a brilliant “Cold War Kids as Pavement” re-casting suggestion from the original CWK drummer, Matt Aveiro. ⚔️ Being a real man isn't about status, comfort, or approval. A real man was designed to demonstrate the glory of God on this earth. Byron teaches us that: A real man discovers his mission in the Kingdom of Heaven — and he does it. A real man becomes a son of God, operating in the same Spirit Jesus promised through the Comforter. A real man moves with faith and obedience, like Abraham, without hesitation. This is the hardest, most masculine journey you will ever take — chasing after your God-given destiny. Just like David facing Goliath, a real man steps up because he knows who his God is. ⚜️ That's Man of Peace masculinity. That's what a true man looks like. To see more, subscribe

We continue our NBA Draft previews on Episode 733 as Jay Bilas helps us analyze Khaman Maluach's potential in the NBA! ManMan is a player that could go as high as 3rd in the draft or as low as the end of the lottery, but no one doubts his abilities on defense. Jay thinks the real upside comes on offense, where may think that if he can continue to add to his game, he will be a force for years to come. After Jay's comments and predictions on Maluach, Donald and Jason give their takes as well. We saw what he did at Duke and how much he improved in just one year. The sky's the limit for Khaman Maluach in the NBA. After the break, we get into some of the rules changes that are coming to college basketball, particularly the addition of the coach's challenge. We discuss whether it's good for the game and we get into some of the other rules changes we would bring to make the games more exciting and limit the delays. A flurry of news on Duke hit the feed today so Donald and Jason jumped on the Duke Basketball Roundup to chat about it. First up, we have another member of the 20226 team as Jack Scott, a wing from Princeton has committed to play at Duke. Jack figures to be a deep bench/practice player for the most part but the podcast gang have plenty of thoughts about how he fits and what he does for Duke. After the break, there is a ton of news coming out of the NBA Draft combine. Isaiah Evans isn't there (someone remind Jason that we need to talk about that), Tyrese Proctor isn't player, and we are getting measurements on Cooper, Kon, and Manman. The DBR Podcast has all the Duke news you could want as we await the lottery and learn where Copper will be planting his Flagg next season. Learn more about your ad choices. III. ManMan is the special creation of God, made in His own image. He created them male and female as the crowning work of His creation. The gift of gender is thus part of the goodness of God's creation. In the beginning man was innocent of sin and was endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice. By his free choice man sinned against God and brought sin into the human race. Through the temptation of Satan man transgressed the command of God, and fell from his original innocence whereby his posterity inherit a nature and an environment inclined toward sin. Therefore, as soon as they are capable of moral action, they become transgressors and are under condemnation. Only the grace of God can bring man into His holy fellowship and enable man to fulfill the creative purpose of God. The sacredness of human personality is evident in that God created man in His own image, and in that Christ died for man; therefore, every person of every race possesses full dignity and is worthy of respect and Christian love.
Week four of ASU's spring practice kicked off on Monday with a session that featured some big plays, loud hits, a the defense getting the edge. Get a rundown of the action and hear from ASU freshman running back Demarius "Man Man" Robinson.
ARE YOU A NICE GUY OR A GOOD MAN? | MAN OF PEACE PODCAST
A game at upstart SMU was supposed to be one of the biggest challenges left on Duke's schedule and most folks expected a close contest that would likely no be decided until the final minutes. It didn't take long for Duke to dispel that notion. The DBR Podcast crew cannot gush enough about this game where Duke jumped all over SMU and never let up for a second. Tyrese Proctor, Manman, Caleb Foster, and several guys get shout-outs but it is the performance of Cooper Flagg that really stands out as he impacts every aspect of the contest on both ends of the floor. A word of warning -- be careful as you listen or you might get caught up in a wee bit of irrational exuberance... the guys even calculate Duke's chances of winning out the rest of the regular season. The Duke Blue Devils didn't look great in a win against Incarnate Word, but a win's a win. Donald and Jason jump on quickly after the game to recap it on Episode 672. Duke was led by a career night from Khaman Maluach, who was the star of the first half. Isaiah Evans was the pace car in the second half. But while ManMan had a great night and Evans had a great half, Duke struggled on offense. After the headlines, Donald and Jason get to the good and bad from this game. It was a game where Duke really struggled to put Incarnate Word away in the first half and let them hang before the defense took over in the second half to make it a bigger win. Still, they needed to play through yet another slow start and needed to have more intensity and mental sharpness throughout the game. After the break, we discuss Maalik Murphy's decision to enter the transfer portal. He will not play for Duke in the bowl game against Ole Miss, and we discuss his season at Duke. We wish him the best as he moves on and we talk about the state of the portal in college football. Despite many fans being angry at him leaving and the transfer portal at large, Duke has so far had it pretty easy despite the high profile departure. And, help could be on the way. The Blue Devils took care of business in resounding fashion against another overmatched opponent on Friday night, hitting the century mark as they defeated the Army Black Knights. When the threes weren't working, Duke pounded the glass to stake themselves to a nice lead. And then, when the threes began to fall, the rout was on. The Duke Basketball Roundup breaks it all down from Manman's board dominance to a sterling showing by the Duke bench to Cooper's overall excellence (and his cramps). But, ever the analysts, Jason and Donald don't just focus on the good they saw, there is plenty of conversation about what Duke needs to work on as we prepare for much stiffer tests in coming weeks, including Kentucky in just a couple days. Today on the W&J show, the boys talk about companies going back and forth with DEI policies, and a horse named Man Man that keeps getting violated at night.
Here on the DBR Podcast, we get by with a little help from our friends. Jason and Donald welcome in dozens of fans of the podcast to their first ever live podcast. It was a huge weekend of Duke sports so there is plenty to talk about. It all begins with a recap of the exhibition win over Lincoln. The podcast crew (and friends) enjoyed the coming out party of Cooper Flagg and Kon Knueppel (who we are nicknaming Kon Ktripple). The guys also saw very positive things from Tyrese, Manman, and Maliq as Duke unveiled a lethal attack and also showed themselves to be a team full of long, pesky defenders. I mean, how can you not enjoy a 50+ point beatdown? After the break, the party continues with a look at the big, big football win on Friday, Duke's first ever victory over Florida State and a statement making win that ensures Duke is bowl eligible. There is much praised for the resiliency of this crew, especially the impressive defense. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Their super-secret-special friend, MLive crime reporter and stupendous social gathering contriver Cole Waterman joins the party to add some crackin' tunes to a mixtape. You should totally join along as the three old pals discuss music, writing, and the meaning of life and/or why it's a gruesome, tiresome, pointless goddamn slog. Enjoy! Sonic (non-mix) contributors to the twentieth bonus episode of Lightnin' Licks Radio podcast include: Prince Paul / De La Soul / Zach Braff / Natalie Portman / Amerigo Gazaway / River Shook / The Disarmers / Yesterday's New Quintet / Denzel Curry / Karriem Riggins / Mattiel / Brothers Johnson / Joe Diffy / Toby Keith / Kenny Chesney / Junkyard Band / Roy Ayers Ubiquity / Deadmau5 / Hayle / Michael Boyd / Gary Remal Malkin / Camp Lo / Ski / Trugoy the Dove / Craig Mack / Easy Moe Bee / Lung / Air / Heinz Kiesling / Lesley Gore / Wally Gold / Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band / Tiffany / Tommy James & the Shondells / Billy Idol / New Kids on the Block / Debbie Gibson / Dr. Dog / Kim Gordon / Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Jay brought to the dining room table the sounds of Chris Whitley, Sarah Bethe Nelson, A Taste of Honey, and Charles Wright. Deon suggested songs from Sarah Shook and the Devil, Jahari Massamba Unit, Adeem the Artist, and Man Man.
