Today's hot topic is all about what's new inside HerSuiteSpot. The tables are turned on me and I am interviewed by special guest Natasha Nurse, Coach, Speaker and Content Creator. Natasha and I speak about the new HerSuiteSpot Network and why it's important for women of color to have a space for us by us were we can get centered and focus directly on the tools we need to advance.
When you begin to accept who you truly are, you begin to expand and grow. I'm not referring to the things others think you are, but you, the real you -- the you that you believe is your truest self. It's when we begin to listen to ourselves, not others, where we begin to see the change and start understanding that we hold so much power when we stop worrying about what others think or say about us. Wondering or assuming what others want, need, and think creates a limit to who we can become as we are allowing them to take control of our thoughts, goals and how much we can truly motivate ourselves. In this episode, Natasha Nurse speaks to us about her personal journey pushing the boundaries of her own self-belief. She teaches us how to see ourselves as being limitless and how to create impact and how to live our days without fear and judgment determining how we should get things done.Natasha Nurse is a coach, magazine editor, licensed attorney, co-host of the WokeNFree podcast, and the founder of DressingRoom8. Her colorful life experiences led her to the area of diversity and inclusion which is one of the reasons she started DressingRoom8, a space for women who seek coaching and the opportunity to learn how to be comfortable in their own skin, physically and mentally.Timestamps: [2:20] Natasha and her ever-expanding limitless mindset[7:35] Why the power of fear holds us back[12:25] When it comes down to it, the only thing stopping you from your goals is you[14:21] Natasha's experience working in diversity and inclusion and how she learned how to create change from the inside[25:36] Question what is truly going to make you happy, and do it!__________________________________________________________For more information on the Make Time for Success podcast, visit:https://www.maketimeforsuccesspodcast.comConnect with Us!Dr. Christine Li [host] -Website: https://www.procrastinationcoach.comFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/procrastinationcoachInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/procrastinationcoach/Natasha Nurse [guest] -Website: https://www.wokenfree.com/ and https://www.dressingroom8.com/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wokenfree/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/wokenfree/LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/natashamnurse/ Book: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08LV5WYBT

Hitting a mid week wall? Recharge your batteries with this latest episode of SnackWalls, enjoy!Natasha believes the lack of diversity in tech is a systemic issue. Historically people of color were not necessarily encouraged in their early schooling to pursue STEM careers. If Black and Brown people are unaware of the roles and different opportunities available in tech, then they are less likely to pursue these jobs. Natasha can understand why some companies would want their software engineers to have a CS degree. However, she believes it is more important to focus on a candidate's skills and whether they can get the job done. If a job applicant is self-trained and understands how to get the job done, then the educational piece is just a barrier to entry. The apprenticeship model would be a great way to bring people into tech who may not understand the different opportunities available. If implemented properly, there should be a two way sharing of information and innovation that benefits both the organization and the apprentice. Natasha has found the key to retaining diverse talent is to create a fostering and nurturing environment where employees get resources, support and they have a pathway for elevation in their career, as well as the opportunity to innovate. This episode is dedicated to everyone trying to live up to other people’s expectations. It’s for everyone who’s held back on making a change until change was forced upon them. My guest today, Natasha Nurse, is here to share how she stopped reacting in her career, and started asking herself “What do I want?” A total badass and a native New Yorker, Natasha is an entrepreneur, media personality, coach, model, influencer, and recently — podcaster! Growing up in a culture that stressed hard work and success at all costs, Natasha was never going to be anything less than incredible. But for years, she pursued other people’s ideas of incredible, set to their expectations. “Choose you. When people are being toxic and naysayers, choose yourself, and choose to ignore the BS that other people try to impart upon you. It’s their own cry for help, their own sadness, their own jealousy, their own weakness. Guess what? That is not your problem. That is not your narrative.”
