Paul Coll admits fulfilling a dream by winning the New Zealand Open squash title in front of a record crowd in Christchurch. The 32-year-old says the tournament exceeded expectations. A 2-time British Open Champion as well as a Commonwealth Games Champion, Coll is currently ranked number 4 in the world. He told Mike Hosking the tournament was a really good week for everyone involved, especially him, but he knows that those who travelled from abroad to compete had a good time. He says he was trying to soak up the atmosphere and enjoy the competition, but he also played the best squash he has all season. “I'm looking forward to pushing off for the rest of the season – excited to keep playing.” Coll now travels to Brisbane to compete in the Australian Open, which is a gold ranking event. Another fun pod today. We start with the huge win of Ryan Peake in the New Zealand Open, without being dismissive of the past, it is a wonderful redemption story and Mark says a great example of what second chances can do. Mark and Nick both want to get Ryan on the pod when he is back in Australia. However, Mark is not a fan of the NZ Open being a Pro-Am calling it 'garbage'. Nick understands why it is and proposes a compromise approach, Mark then offers an alternate compromise.Jake Knapp's 59 at PGA National needs to be analysed by Mark Allen's patented 'Talk Birdie To Me 59 Analyser'. Which he does. Nick discusses Jakes plug shot out of the water.Joe Highsmith. What is with that hat, and what about that putting? Discussions are had, and laughs are had. Both are ridiculous. And why does Mark Allen call Ricky Pointing a 'disgrace' ? Trouble in paradise. We discuss Luke Clanton getting his card and his Dad's beautiful reaction, which gives Nick an idea about Q-School mini's...he reckons riveting viewing. Speaking of riveting viewing, for the wrong reasons. Mark plays the famous video of Joe Daly at Q-School in 2000. Brutal. We play a video of Jeff Guan's driving, looking pretty sharp. A tough road for him, but we wish him all the best.Marks Top 5 today is a cracker. The Top 5 ridiculous putting actions on tour that he has seen. It is very funny. Has he missed any? Let us know.Couple of stunning reno's in Sydney: Royal Sydney, and NSW Golf Club, we look at some pics of both and discuss.Lots of results to run through in the PING Global results, in what has been a big week for lefties. Unsurprisingly, Nick is pleased with that. And we run through some feedback, Mark gets a whack from Wolfpack member Don, and Mark gives tour pro David Micheluzzi a whack (again!). This could end in court. Lucky we've got our lawyer Dennis Denuto on retainer. And a great masterclass from Nick, inspired by Jake Knapp, on how to play plugged lies.We do the show from Titleist and FootJoy HQ, thanks to our great partners:Titleist, the #1 ball in golf;FootJoy, the #1 shoe and glove in golf; The watchMynumbers app, play smarter and use your data. This Monday episode quickly gets into the Sunday finish at the Cognizant Classic, where Jake Knapp melted on the back nine and Joe Highsmith shot a 64 to secure his first PGA Tour win. Andy takes no pride in a successful double-down on Knapp not winning after Thursday's 59 and wonders how he keeps getting himself in these situations with his takes. Highsmith and his caddie, Joe LaCava Jr., get props from Brendan and Andy for back-to-back 64s on the weekend, earning the win after making the cut on the number. Brendan shares some on-the-ground reports from a listener about the "worst edition" of the PGA National event yet. The two also touch on performances from Russell Henley, Doug Ghim, and Michael Kim, among others. Most importantly, Andy is thrilled that world No. 92, Luke Clanton, finally secured his PGA Tour card! From there, the two discuss a rain-shortened South African Open, where a runner-up finish secured Laurie Canter's place in the top 50 of the OWGR. Brendan openly wonders if the PGA Tour will let the former Cleek take his rightful place in the field at The Players. Lydia Ko won the HSBC Championship in dominant fashion for her 23rd career win. Andy's interest in biker gangs was rewarded at the New Zealand Open, where former biker gang member Ryan Peake won the event and a spot in The Open Championship this summer. Some news from the weekend is discussed, including the all-important TGL playoff push happening Monday and Tuesday. Nick Dunlap has signed a one-day deal with the Atlanta Drive, but Andy is wondering if their organization is laying down to keep the Ballfrogs out of the playoffs. The two discuss the Seminole Pro-Member field and a possible Tiger Woods appearance at TPC Sawgrass next week. To end the episode, Andy, Brendan, and PJ come up with some ideas for a PGA Tour Scouting Combine to celebrate the NFL Combine in Indianapolis coming to a close. Who's your pick to beat Sepp Straka in an Oklahoma drill?
