Recently, I had the honor of interviewing a truly remarkable woman on my podcast - Kim Rahir, a 60-year-old competitive Olympic weightlifter. Kim's incredible journey began in her late forties when she was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). Despite her neurologist's warnings to “take it slow,” Kim walked straight from his office into the gym, determined to reclaim power over her body. What began as a small act of defiance soon transformed into a lifelong passion. As Kim devoted herself to weight training, she grew measurably stronger and healthier, astonishing her doctors with her recovery. They credited her dedication to strength training and proper nutrition with successfully managing her MS when other options had failed. By her early fifties, Kim was getting strong and learning Olympic lifts under an experienced coach. Now, just over a decade later, Kim is redefining what is physically possible after 50. Last year, at age 60, she won a silver medal in Olympic weightlifting at the European Masters Championship. During our podcast interview, Kim eloquently dispelled prevailing myths surrounding age and athleticism. With her dedication to diet and intense training, she is living proof that maintaining supreme fitness well into retirement age is achievable. Her energy and lust for life moved me deeply. She encouraged my audience to ignore the doubters and recognize that transformative growth remains possible at any age. At 60, as she trains for upcoming international contests, Kim Rahir exemplifies grace, wisdom, and mighty strength - both inner and outer. Hers is the story not of youthful potential but of a maturity that empowers and enriches our second acts. In today's episode we're discussing something close to my heart - the privilege of aging. Here are three key takeaways for you: 1️⃣ Aging is a privilege: We often take our loved ones and our own lives for granted, assuming we have endless time. However, recent losses have reminded me that aging is indeed a privilege. Let's cherish the people we love and make the most of every moment we have together. 2️⃣ Embrace your age: Instead of hiding or being ashamed of your age, wear it with pride. Getting older is a gift not everyone gets to experience, so let's celebrate each year and acknowledge the wisdom and growth that comes with it. 3️⃣ Accept and appreciate the aging process: As human beings, we all go through physical changes as we age. Rather than resisting or complaining about these changes, let's embrace them and find joy in the process. By accepting the inevitability of aging, we can lead happier, more content lives. Remember, age is not just a number – it's a part of our unique journey. Let's make the most of it by embracing every stage and finding gratitude in the privilege of growing older. If you want to dive deeper into this topic, tune into the full episode of The Hormone Balance Solution podcast for more insights and inspiration. Keep learning, keep growing, and keep embracing the beautiful gift of aging. Hi this is Randy Randall. Have you ever asked yourself, how many things are too many things to do at once? Maybe you shift your focus every few years to new and exciting interests. This is super common with multi-hyphenates...or people with tandem professions, careers or passions that support and drive them throughout their life. I've always been interested in the hyphenate idea--how do people find their place in more than one job and what kind of energy and focus does it takes to sustain it? Now I am doing just that. In addition to recording and touring with my band NO AGE, I've started this podcast, Hyphenate with Randy Randall and I want to invite you to come along for the ride. We'll sit down and talk with people from the world of music, art, photography, sports and technology and we'll what drives their hyphenated life. If you have a passion for more than one thing, then this is the show for you. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Never be 'old'. Age is a state of mind. Some people in their 30s and 40s are old. They look old, act old, and think old. Many people in their 80s, 90s, and 100s are never going to be old. The story begins at infancy. Infants need to use the primitive instinctive brain region to cry for food and a diaper change. After that, thinking from this brain region self-destructs and prevents people from being successful adults making positive contributions to the world. I call this primitive brain region the stress center. People grow old because they don't shut down the stress center. They continue with endless self-centered thoughts and thinking about themselves causing lifelong stress and old age.Apply the principles of the Eplerian Life Philosophy by knowing where you're thinking from. Shut down negative self-centered thoughts from the stress center. Think from the heart with giving and kindness to yourself and helping others. Think from the mind with courage, inspiration, and creativity to solve problems and improve the world.Be your true authentic self. Shut down thinking from the stress center and you'll never be old. Gary Epler / Eplerian Life Philosophy

Kate Gilman Williams — How kids can save animals, why advocacy has no age limit and anyone can make a difference. | Brought to you by Trade Coffee (https://drinktrade.com/passionstruck). Kate is the Founder of Kids Can Save Animals, Founder of Club 15 – an extension of Project 15 from Microsoft, and Author! She launched Kids Can Save Animals to connect her generation with world-renowned conservation organizations, technologists, policymakers, and global leaders who work to save wildlife and wild spaces. Her goal is to save endangered animals. Born Free USA Kate was recently named the first Youth Ambassador for Born Free USA. In her role, Kate will speak to her generation about the exploitation and suffering of animals living in captivity, educate kids and teens that animals being used for any kind of human entertainment is wrong, what the illegal pet trade is, and how we all can help end the wildlife trade and trophy hunting. Let's Go On Safari At age 8, Kate authored the book Let's Go On Safari! which takes readers on a safari adventure and encourages children to speak up for animals who don't have a voice. All sales from the book support the Jane Goodall Institute, The Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, and Re:Wild. So far, her book has raised over $15,000 for her conservation partners. When Penguin Random House in South Africa picked up Let's Go On Safari! Kate became the youngest author in history to sign two publishing contracts resulting in a global title release. In the Summer of 2021, Kate partnered with Jenn Hartmann Luck, Austin-based singer, and songwriter, to produce a song “Kids Can Save Animals.” With each download, 15% supports Re:Wild where Leonardo DiCaprio is the founding board member.
