It's rare for us to review a 10 year-old game that's still in active development, but here we are. Much has already been said about the majestic comeback story that is No Man's Sky - and we do touch upon that here - but we mainly wanted to discuss what we did and didn't enjoy about playing the game in its 2026 form. Leon, James, Rich and Patreon posters do just that, telling tales of adventure in this practically infinite possibility space.

In today's Daily Fix:The cloud servers for Aliens: Fireteam Elite have been shut down, and Switch players who purchased the game no longer have access to it. Cloud versions need to be stored onto servers in order to run, and when gamers "buy" a copy, they're only buying a license to access the game, not to own the game in perpetuity. The shutdown and lack of any kind of refund or discount for the sequel have subsequently shined more light on Sony's decision to discontinue manufacturing physical game discs in 2028. In other news, Marvel's Spider-Man 2 for PS5 and Steam saw a surge in sales and player counts since the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day in theaters over a week ago. In the Market Call, David Snowball, publisher and chief analyst at MutualFundObserver.com, discusses the future of traditional mutual funds, the evolution of ETFs and how new funds today are different from classic offerings before getting down to some funds he likes and dislikes.

In this episode we look at the incredible story of a man who gave up his job as a Rector in a village church to serve on the Western Front. Kenelm Swallow arrived on the Somme battlefield in the mud of November 1916. We follow his journey from the Somme to Arras and discover how he performed various tasks to help the war effort, way beyond his spiritual duties. We find out how he went alone into No Man's Land at Ypres to ensure dead comrades were properly buried, and how he slipped down the steps of a dugout and landed on a stove, much to his amusement. He also describes what it was like to sleep in a dirty dugout. Kenelm was part of the BEF that liberated Belgium in 1918, and we hear how the civilians reacted to liberation and what he thought of the German enemy.

Trail runner, writer, and BRCA1 gene carrier Sara Aranda grew up watching breast and ovarian cancer devastate the women in her family and ultimately lose her mom while she was in college. This week, she brings us her story–what it was like choosing prophylactic mastectomy and bilateral salpingo‑oophorectomy in her mid‑30s, going from FKT‑strong to surgical menopause overnight, and the collision of relief and grief that follows. Sara shares how she used a massive “lowest to highest” FKT and a prayer run for missing and murdered Indigenous women as both metaphor and preparation, how she's navigating hormone therapy, sleep, body composition, bone worries, and shin splints, and why she wants other medically and/or surgically menopausal athletes to know they are not alone.Sara Aranda is a creative writer, trail runner, and coach who is passionate about craft, community, and challenging perceived notions of language and body, notably what it now means for her to be an athlete in surgical menopause.
