Die meisten reden über Tools. Wir reden darüber, was wirklich funktioniert.

Henry “Dynamite” Thompson wasn't built for comfort. He was trained for chaos. As an elite warrior in MACV-SOG, his life was one long classified mission behind enemy lines. In this raw conversation, Rafa J. Conde sits down with a true operator to uncover what it takes to survive betrayal, thrive under psychological warfare, and lead men in situations where failure meant death. This isn't a history lesson. This is a manual for men who want to sharpen their edge and reclaim their power.
When life feels loud and mentally crowded, a good story can soften time and calm the nervous system. In this episode of Healthy Mind, Healthy Life, host Yusuf sits down with author and consultant Henry L. Sullivan III to explore why audiobooks can feel like true mental rest, not just entertainment. This conversation is for anyone who feels too stressed or distracted to read like they used to, or wants a healthier way to decompress without numbing out. Henry shares how stories help us escape daily pressure while still gaining insight, plus simple ways to bring audiobooks into your routine. About the Guest: Henry L. Sullivan III is an author, traveler, and independent consultant. He writes speculative fiction and social reflection, including the thriller Colosseum, and produces audiobooks with voice actors and full performances. Key Takeaways: Use audiobooks as “active rest” when your mind is overloaded, especially during commutes or chores If focus is low, start with audiobooks to rebuild your reading habit without pressure A strong narrator or cast performance can pull you into calm, immersive attention Stories can help you process real-world stress indirectly, without constant news exposure Make one weekly choice to listen purely for enjoyment, not self-improvement How to Connect With the Guest: Find Henry's audiobooks by searching “Henry LSullivan III Colosseum” on Audible, Amazon, Spotify, TuneIn, Audiobooks.com, Storytel, and Libro.fm. You can also borrow via libraries on Hoopla Digital and Libby (formerly OverDrive). Substack Want to be a guest on Healthy Mind, Healthy Life? Henry L. "Dick" Thompson had to swear to stay silent for 20 years when he joined the ultra-secret, badass MACV-SOG. Now uncensored, he speaks about his insane adventures serving in the Vietnamese jungle, and how he applied his skills as a natural-born tracker raised on his grandparent's farm to the job of team leader: "I could actually smell the NVA." Though their mission was intel and recon, this famous SOG group saw frequent combat and worse casualties than any other: A small team (approx. 6-9 men) was routinely air-dropped behind enemy lines and often faced battalion-sized NVA and VC opponents during the U.S. Secret War in Laos and Cambodia. Not allowed to wear his dog tags or anything that would identify him, he chose any his "Dynamite" codename because as a kid, he liked to blow things up.Dick remains good friends with recent HBH guest "Tilt" Meyer, a former MACV-SOG comrade-in-arms. Let's take a look back at my conversation with one f the world's most loved historians, Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr. This takes us back to Episode 51 where we discuss his hit show Finding Your Roots and his journey to the show.
Claire de Mézerville López welcomes Henry McClendon, Jr., the Director of Community Engagement for the International Institute for Restorative Practices (IIRP) and Pastor at the Berean Chapel of Detroit. Henry was previously the Southeast Michigan Area Director for Prison Fellowship Ministries, Director of Youth Development for New Detroit, Inc., and Program Officer for the Skillman Foundation. He is a proud lifelong resident of Detroit and is steeped in the wellbeing of his community. Henry was introduced to the work of restorative justice in the 90's after witnessing a restorative conference between a convicted murderer and his victim's mother. He became inspired to bring restorative justice into his community and all communities he would touch in the future. The resolution and bond created from that conference would stoke the fire of his passion and lead him to spaces where he would implement restorative practices in K-12 education, policing, faith-based, and community health organizations. Henry tells stories of the “secret sauce” to high performing schools in low-income areas, methods to creating humanization between citizens and police in a community, and the importance of the wellbeing of families as integral to creating thriving communities. Tune in to hear more about Henry's experience and to learn about our upcoming conference, Building Thriving Communities: A Radical Approach Through Restorative Practices, happening October 2-4, 2023, in Detroit, MI.
Nädalavahetusel sõideti nii F1 kui WRC etapp. Kuidas sobivad näiteks Mehhikos meie mõistes ebatavalisel ajal sõidetud kiiruskatsed seda kajastavatele ajakirjanikele? Kas Ott Tänaku edu kiiruskatsetel kandub üle lugejate numbritesse ja vastupidi? Kas F1 sarja ülemaailmne populaarsuse kasv on nähtav ka Eesti lugejate seas? Neile küsimustele annab vastused Postimehe sporditoimetuse juht Henry Lääne. Saatejuht Margus Kiiver.

Decades-old housing policies, which included redlining, have had a detrimental and lasting effect on American society. As with housing, did you know that all communities do not receive the same benefits from transportation advancements and investments in the USA? On today's The Adverse Effects, Henry L Greenidge talks to us about the often-forgotten role that transportation plays in regard to mobility and opportunities. Henry covers the historical link in the design of the transportation and housing systems that promoted racial segregation and keeps black Americans away from opportunities. Discover how transportation has played a pivotal role in the context of civil rights. Also, learn about the actions that can be taken to initiate change for the better. Henry L. Greenidge is a dynamic attorney and government affairs professional with over ten years of experience in policy advising and legal advocacy. His areas of expertise span infrastructure issues such as broadband, energy, sustainability, and mobility—including autonomous transportation. Greenidge is currently the Director of Partnerships & Head of Public Affairs at REEF Technology and a Fellow-in-Residence at the NYU McSilver Institute. “Transportation can be used to keep us down or give us opportunities.” — Henry L Greenidge “When you pivot be ready to feel like you don't belong, but it doesn't mean those feelings are true.” — Henry L Greenidge “...there's a point in time you need to recognize that in order to get to the next level you need to leave some things behind and unfortunately sometimes that means people...” — Henry L Greenidge Today on The Adverse Effect: How to tackle the imposter syndrome Working in the Obama Administration Transportation and mobility How transportation can affect mobility Civil rights and transportation Implementing change Resources Mentioned: The McSilver Institute for Poverty Policy and Research at New York University Connect with Nubia Young: Henry L. Henry L. Caldwell III, of Dallas Texas is a businessman's businessman. He and his team knows what it takes to grow your business. He knows that first impressions make lasting impressions. With his dream team, CTO-Charles Gill and CMO-Michael Bailey, their combined knowledge of web design, telecommunication, marketing and customer service, they've created ProBizCa, an all-in-one Professional Business Card Digital Hub. Finally the business card has moved into the 21st century. Today's business card is tomorrow's trash. ProBizCa, short for Professional Business Card, is a digital business card that lists more than your name, address and phone number. Most importantly, it won't end up in tomorrow's trash. Delivered by your smartphone, the owner of a ProBizCa Digital Business Card, can deliver every facet of their business to a potential client's cell phone. Conveniently, it does not require an app to download. “A business card has a front and a back,” says Henry. “How can you communicate what you do on a two-by-three-and-one-half inch card? If your business card is your real estate, it's insufficient. ProBizCa allows the business owner to showcase all of his or her products and services by QR code, text message or email.” Henry, grew up in a family where owning your own business was second nature. He remembers helping his father when he was not quite a teenager, installing plastic slip covering on furniture. (Remember that? Yes, Henry is in his late fifties). It was ingrained in him that owning a business is not just selling something to someone, it's developing a relationship with your customer and creating business alliances. Caldwell hopes to inspire others to chase their passion. “You have to believe in yourself,” he states. “You have to have faith in yourself even when no one else will.” The mantra he lives by is, “Laziness pays off now, but hard work pays off in the future.” To learn more about ProBizCa please visit their website at www.ProBizCa.com You may also contact ProBizCa directly at 1-888-506-0418 To learn more about Huami Magazine please visit www.mykelmedia.com You may also follow Huami Magazine on Facebook and Instagram by putting "Huami Magazine" in your search box.
