The Two Mikes were joined today by Rob Montz for a discussion about the film-production company he founded and the documentary films it makes. He is the CEO and Co-founder of the company. Mr. Montz's company is named “Good Kid Productions”, and the films it makes are free to watch. Asked why he formed the company, Mr. Montz said that he wanted to make high-quality films about conservative-based issues that currently get little to no attention from other film companies and the rest of the media. His most recent production deals with the all but ignored non-crisis of free-speech on university campuses, especially on the country's elite campuses. Mr. Montz said that it is a non-crisis because you cannot have a crisis unless you have two opposing and warring parties, and at this time the woke rulers of the nation's university system have defeated free speech hands down. His documentary covers the troubles faced by three university professors – Roland Fryer, Amy Wax, and Josiah Wax -- who are now facing dismissal for their conservative and pro-Constitution views and speech. These scholars, Mr. Montz, says, are part of what appears to be a dying breed of Americans willing to fight for free speech, while most of the rest of their countrymen appear to have been “trained to be intellectual cowards” by woke and hyper-partisan indoctrinators. Mr. Montz's company's website is https://www.goodkidproductions.com/ and its YouTube channel is called God Kid Productions, which is at https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=good+kid+production Sponsors CARES Act Stimulus (COVID-19) Employee Retention Tax Credits (ERC): https://www.jornscpa.com/snap/?refid=11454757 Cambridge Credit: https://www.cambridge-credit.org/twomikes/ EMP Shield: https://www.empshield.com/?coupon=twomikes Our Gold Guy: https://www.ourgoldguy.com www.TwoMikes.us

In the summer of 2020 in Kenosha, Wisconsin, a cell phone captured video of a white police officer shooting a black man. The viral clip sparked mass protests and violent riots, culminating in Kyle Rittenhouse, a white teenager, going to Kenosha to defend it against the protestors. The media portrayed these incidents as another example of racism in law enforcement and irresponsible gun ownership. But is there more to the story? In this episode, Naomi and Ian are joined by Rob Montz, CEO of Good Kid Productions and creator of the documentary “The Broken Boys of Kenosha: Jacob Blake, Kyle Rittenhouse, and the Lies We Still Live By.” Rob dispels some of the common myths surrounding the shooting and reveals how partisan media coverage failed to report the underlying cause of these events. Each main character in this story lacked a present and loving father in their lives. Having a fatherless childhood has profound negative effects on boys, and Rob explains that policymakers and society need to start seeing fatherlessness as a morally urgent issue that matters for the future of the country.Resources:• The Broken Boys of Kenosha: Jacob Blake, Kyle Rittenhouse, and the Lies We Still Live By | Rob Montz | Good Kid Productions• The Power of Personal Agency | Ian Rowe | Wall Street Journal Show Notes:• 02:00 | Kenosha is an excellent case study of systemic corruption in the media environment• 05:30 | Recapping the shooting of Jacob Blake and the aftermath • 08:30 | Fatherlessness tied everyone together • 17:55 | People in Kenosha understood the impact of fatherlessness • 22:00 | Fatherlessness is a phenomenon that affects all races and can only be fixed by culture and individual agency

Do you think you know the stories of Jacob Blake and Kyle Rittenhouse? You only know the superficial and politically slanted version that the media has presented in soundbites. You may think that Jacob Blake was another black man unfairly targeted by white cops who shot him at random, and you may think that Kyle Rittenhouse was out for blood when he attended the riots that set Kenosha ablaze. Neither stories are true. Today's guest, Rob Montz, co-founder and CEO of Good Kid Productions, has created a stunning documentary. Stunning - not only visually - but by the shocking truth it reveals. The Broken Boys of Kenosha digs beneath the surface to find out the truth. Who are these people, really? What brought them to their spots in history? What is the profound connection that they share? How does fatherlessness affect boys (and girls) - and what is the danger of its growing impact on America? Rob Montz—Film Maker & CEO of Good Kid Productions—joins the show to talk about his new documentary, “Harvard Canceled Its Best Black Professor. Why?” Montz’ film documents the rise and fall of Harvard economics professor Dr. Roland Fryer. Dr. Fryer had become one of the nation’s most prominent economists with ground-breaking research that turned out to challenge progressive narratives, like the merits of defunding police and the frequency of race-targeted police brutality. However, in 2018, he was suspended by the university after being accused of harassment. The incident in question seemed to consist of several “unseemly jokes” made via text. Did his punishment fit the crime? Or were university officials attempting to silence opinions they didn’t like? The documentary is streaming for free at: WhoCanceledRoland.com. Earlier this week, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner spoke to the City Council about department budget increases. Council President Darrell Clarke told Krasner that city residents are demanding changes to his prosecutorial strategies, citing sky-high homicide rates and general safety concerns throughout Philadelphia.

For this week’s episode of The Glenn Show, we’ve upped our production game a little. In late August, John McWhorter and I met up for an all-too-rare in-person conversation in Manhattan, and the filmmaker Rob Montz and his crew were on hand to record it. It was wonderful to be able sit face-to-face with John, and Rob did a wonderful job capturing the energy in the room. It wouldn’t have been possible to pull all of this together without the support of the subscribers here: Thank you! We’re hoping to create more special content like this in the future, so your contributions are greatly appreciated. John and I begin by discussing his gig writing for the New York Times, in particular a recent piece about Harold Arlen and Johnny Mercer’s Blues Opera. It’s never been produced, and John is assisting in trying to usher it to the stage. We move from the blues to matters that are just plain blue: The word “motherfucker,” which began as black vernacular and has since been absorbed into the English language at large. This naturally leads us to talk about the treatment of sex and money in the TV show Billions. From there we move to more serious matters: The New York City mayor’s race. John is not a fan of the probable winner, Eric Adams, and I press him as to why. We get into it over the squandered opportunities of the Obama years, and we really get into it over Al Sharpton. John is ready to forgive him for the deplorable behavior that defined the first half of his career, and I’m not. And finally, we look at the Jacob Blake shooting a year after the fact. What do we know now that we didn’t know then?We had a lot of fun doing this one, and I hope you have just as much watching it. Let me know what you think here or on Discord.Next week I’ll be posting a conversation with historian David E. Kaiser about the role of “racial justice” in the politicization of historical studies. It’s a radical — and dangerous — departure from the Founding Fathers’ vision of a chief magistrate with limited powers, charged with faithfully executing the laws. The demands we’ve placed on the office have transformed it into a constitutional monstrosity with powers too vast to entrust to any single, fallible human being. How did we get here? Where does Donald Trump fit into the transformation of the presidency? Can we ever restore the Framers’ modest conception of the office and again limit its powers? Montz argues that a collective sense of purpose instilled by cradle-to-grave propaganda has been key to sustaining the country, and has created a quasi-religious fervor around the Kim dynasty that persists even as North Koreans suffer under the brutal regime. They discuss reaching the same age as Kim Jong-un without a hermit kingdom to rule; the question of why North Koreans continue to believe in their state, despite having good reason not to; his early fascination with North Korea's World Cup showing, and how pursuing that fascination led him from standard opinions on the country to newer, more interesting ones; his realization that North Korean ideology comes built upon the same basic structures of psychological truth that any of us have; his interviewing of experts on North Korea, and their disagreements about the nature of the Juche idea; his trip to Pyongyang, and how it didn't require him to hide underwater from North Korean commandos, breathing through a reed; the state's aspirations to totalitarian watchfulness, and how incompetence shatters that image right at the airport; the boredom a visitor to North Korea endures, and how that boredom differs from the boredom we experience in the developed world, where we've mostly cured it; the nihilism that sets upon a mind deprived of the ability to autonomously create meaning and provide purpose; how life in the constant American stimulation stream may render you more vulnerable to boredom when you momentarily step out of it; how many pleasures a people will willingly forego if they're given a larger sense of purpose and community, and how we know the North Korean government knows this; what North and South Korea still have ideologically in common, though the South chose the means of ideological expression that let its people get fed; Confucian values on both sides of the DMZ, and how they even manifest in the strange filial piety of East Asian friends; his extension of the examination of North Korean-style propaganda to United States politics, and especially the ceaseless repetition of the phrase "God bless America" therein; of Washington, D.C., where homosexual atheist political operatives instruct Republican politicians to insist  upon the divine ordainment of American exceptionalism an inveigh against the "gay menace"; and how you can help fund the completion of Juche Strong on Indie Go Go (not to mention the clam-roasting footage you can get for doing so).
