What if the future of chiropractic growth has less to do with hiring more people and more to do with freeing the right people to fully serve? Which means it's time to begin new seasons, in the middle of a couple of others and the conclusion of another where there'll be lots of scrutiny, attention and intrigue. I'll have it all for you right here as the latest podcast has arrived. On deck: (6:48) MLB will have the first ever trio of Game 3's in the wild card round. I'll breakdown how we got here, who will possibly move onto the Division Series and highlight the storylines involving the four teams (Milwaukee, Philadelphia, Toronto & Seattle) as play will commence on Saturday. (39:18) NFL Week 5 kicks off with an NFC West battle between division rival San Francisco vs. LA Rams. As for the rest of the schedule? It's actually pretty light. Also, the Browns have benched Joe Flacco with rookie QB Dillon Gabriel being promoted to starter. Do we really have to monitor when Shedeur Sanders may be able to play? (52:14) Nothing much is brewing on the college football schedule as Week 6 is upon us. (54:50) Minnesota Wild sniper Kirill Kaprizov is now the highest paid player in the history of the NHL as the season begins on Tuesday? If he's worth that much, what is free agent to possibly be Connor McDavid's asking price? (59:32) The WNBA Finals are set as Las Vegas will face Phoenix starting tomorrow night. The bigger story is how one of its top players (and WNBA vice president of players, Napheesa Collier) has called out the commissioner, Cathy Engelbert, for displaying the ‘worst leadership' in sports. Is she in danger of losing her job? Was Collier out of line for publicly expressing herself? (1:10:38) Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga signs a two year deal after a stalemate between he and the team throughout the summer. Is the hatchet buried? Or is there a possibility that something else could be brewing down the road? And MUCH MORE in between. What do you get when you mix scheduling, stories, auto posting, and Instagram? You get Sked Social. But things haven't always been this way… This episode's guest, Hugh Stephens, created Sked Social as an all-in-one tool for Instagram back in 2013. Remember your feedback then? It has evolved from hipster filters and casual posts to algorithm-driven feeds and AI-generated content. Now, it's a battle for creativity and a battle against the algorithm AND sameness. How should you stand out? When's the best time to post? Who even dictates this? And, what does brand voice have to do with community? Community happens with connection, and connection happens when brands have authentic interactions. Real, meaningful engagement doesn't happen on the feed—it happens in the DMs and stories. Plus, Hugh has his spiciest take: not everyone should be in marketing. If you're a marketer who wants to learn more about connecting with your audience beyond Instagram's main feed, this is the episode for you. Sked Social is the no-BS social media management platform built for teams who want to move fast, collaborate easily, and actually prove impact. No per-seat shakedowns, no absurd price hikes, no surprise add-ons—just powerful tools that save time and cut through the chaos. On Tuesday, New Orleans Saints coach Dennis Allen said All-Pro cornerback Marshon Lattimore will be back in 2024. Not saying we're not sure, but is it a big deal we have heard nothing from Lattimore's camp? What about how the team is lining up on the offensive line in OTAs, and what should we expect from Alvin Kamara, who also is a no show this week. Host Jim Derry will ask WWL-TV sports director Doug Mouton on Wednesday's Dattitude Podcast (Ep. 242) presented by Evangeline Securities. Doug also will share his thoughts on what Klint Kubiak is doing thus far and a big difference we might see in the role of Taysom Hill, as well as his viewpoint of the schedule and prediction for 2024. They also talked about LSU baseball live as they were whooping up on Kentucky in the SEC Baseball Tournament. On the 'Extra Point,' Jim thinks the “double first base” the SEC is experimenting with could be done quite differently. Is it safety or silly?

Fasten your seatbelts as this edition will be a sports roller coaster ride with pah-lenty of highs/lows, twists and turns that'll have your cup spilling over. On deck: (4:11) The NBA's second weekend was more thrilling than the previous one as there's a lot to uncover. The Clippers and Mavericks played a thriller in Game 4 as the Clips even the series at 2 from the heroics of Paul George and James Harden. Kyrie Irving almost pulled his team from the dead as they were down 31 in the second quarter, but fell short. The Bucks are on life support as they are facing a 3-1 series deficit with no Giannis Antetokounmpo, and perhaps no Damian Lillard as the Pacers look to wrap up their series. How the past 365+ for the Bucks have been a complete nightmare? I'll further explain. I'll also expound on the Phoenix Suns being the first team departed from the postseason as they were swept by the Minnesota Timberwolves. Give credit to Anthony Edwards and their maturity over the past couple of years, but this Suns team is facing some tough times ahead. With three players (Kevin Durant, Devin Booker and Bradley Beal) who are suffocating their payroll, will this team ever compete for an NBA Finals? What about the legacy of Kevin Durant? I'll divulge my thoughts and also, why it's smart for the Suns to trade Durant this offseason? I'll discuss the other series (PHI-NY, MIA-BOS, NO-OKC, LAL-DEN, ORL-CLE) in detail as we're getting into the deep end of the first round. (31:59) The Stanley Cup Playoffs have been underwhelming, which is a surprise. We have one sweep in the books (Rangers over Capitals) one series that's 2-1 (Vegas up on Dallas) and the other six are at 3-1, isn't shaping up to have one go seven games. The Predators suffered one of the most bitter defeats that you can ever imagine. Choking a two goal lead with three minutes to go and losing in OT to go down 3-1 back to Vancouver. Can they (or the Islanders, Lightning, Kings, Maple Leafs and Jets) extend their series to a sixth game? (47:59) Another NFL Draft is in the books. I'll recap the highlights of Round 1, which was lacking drama or intrigue. Plus, other notable players that were drafted in the later rounds. The Shield (aka the NFL) are mulling an 18 game schedule with the Super Bowl falling on President's Weekend. How do I feel about that? (1:04:54) There was baseball in Mexico over the weekend? Was MLB trying to keep this a secret/under wraps? Why wasn't this promoted? Well, the Astros and Rockies matched up for a couple of games as the league expands their visibility outside of the United States. One series that I'm all over is the Yankees invading Baltimore for the first time this year in a battle for AL East supremacy. I'll take a look at what else is happening in the sport as we're just past the first month of the season. We've got an absolute power house of knowledge on the podcast this week, as Dr. Lauryn is joined by Dr. Amy Haas to discuss all things vertebral subluxation, evidence informed research, and the chiropractic community at large. Originally with a PhD in Biochemistry, Dr. Amy was working as a scientist when her own amazing results and experience with chiropractic care led her to change course, go back to school, and enter the world of chiropractic with a goal of sharing the truth of its potential. Her scientific and research based background has not gone by the wayside however, as Dr. Amy has made many contributions to the world of chiropractic research during her time in the industry, even having been named 2022 Foundation for Vertebral Subluxation Chiropractic Researcher of the Year.During her conversation with Dr. Lauryn, she fills us in on her latest work, a study and report that she has spent the past three plus years working on that is now in its peer review stage. Topics of that paper and this conversation include the difference in framework between spinal manipulation and chiropractic adjustment, the importance of defining and using the proper terminology for what chiropractors do, why evidence informed research is necessary and valid for chiropractic, and so much more.
