Americans, the Real ID is not a driver's license... for starters, it is a federal ID/domestic passport. The states have given up their rights and, I believe, that soon this ID will be the way the government can not only track your travel within the U.S., yet a way to start moving us into a trackable digital ID system, carbon footprinting, social credit scoring, needing this to get banking, health care, etc, etc. Not only is it unconstitutional, but it is also a step into a very unbelievable, dark reality that I do not want to be part of. This week, Katherine and special guest Bobby are Telling Everybody Everything about former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's CONFIRMED romance with astro-dweeb pop princess, Katy Perry. Yucky. Why did he and his wife get divorced anyway and what's up with his tattoo? Also, when are we allowed to speak ill of the dead? Has it been long enough since Kelly Clarkson's ex-husband's tragic passing to discuss mishandling of finances between them while he was her manager? We think YES. Also, we deep dive on Eastern-inspired luxury postpartum recovery stays as Katherine plans to rock up to Claridges Hotel with a newborn for some rest. Plus, your letters on a SAUCY account discovery that could also be 'suggested' to other family members on the same algorithm, and whether or not to pull your teen out of school for mental health recovery. x Hosted on Acast. In this episode, Rachel and Luisa return to the Procrastibaking Book Club for another trip through B. Dylan Hollis' Baking Yesteryear. Luisa whips up the decadently named "Food for the Gods" from 1909, while Rachel bakes the retro-tastic "PB King Cake." Then it's back From the Bookstacks for more deep dives into cookbook margins, headnotes, and blog comments—including a surprising (and romantic!) origin story behind baking powder. Sweet nostalgia, curious crumbs, and vintage bakes await!

OK, we have finished up this arc of the Avengers Academy. A good capper for this series and the main story lines that have been running for the past 20 issues. Now it is on to the final two issues. The theme for this week is horror movies. I am going to see if I can think of a horror movie that each picture reminds me of. Ok. I am going with Night of the Demons. Something about the magic being wielded and a weird scene....I remember watching it in high school with a mess a friends during a Halloween party. And this one scene has stuck with me for years. Ok, maybe not horror as we know it today, but the first Terminator movie has some downright creepy scenes that stay with you. The Terminator in the hotel room dealing with is dying skin. Yucky. For some reason I am thinking about Scream and the first scene. Drew Barrymore wishes that she could have teleported out of that house. That would have saved the coroner a mess of work. Have you seen Godzilla Minus One? If you have not, you should. I guess it is more of a monster movie, or action even, but it is one heck of a show. It really puts you in the mindset of Japan after the war, and the terror of the unknown. What to say about The Ring or Ringu. It is a frightening horror movie that scared the pants off of us back in the late 90's. And the sight of the kid crawling through the TV just might be the creepiest thing ever. The most infamous stomach horror scene of all time is, of course, from Alien. I mean, what can you say. The situation has ended, the victim looks fine, let's have some laughs...OH MY GOD WHAT IS COMING OUT OF HIS STOMACH! Yeah, good times. In my opinion, one of the classic horror movies is Halloween. There is just a lot of perfect fear in that film, and there is a simplicity to it as well. The monster that just kills and has not feeling, and the ominous score. Chefs kiss. That's a question a lot of people have, honestly. But a kid named Rosie was bold enough to ask us to investigate why. So, in the latest episode, we dig in on why cockroaches get such a bad rap and why you might want to reconsider if you're not a fan. Only two percent of the world's cockroaches are considered pests. Those are the ones that can live in houses and potentially make us sick. But the vast majority of cockroaches don't bother humans at all! Some, like the social cockroach species known as termites, work to decompose organic material and are hugely important to our environment. So where do people learn negative attitudes toward insects? We dig deep into insects with Jessica Ware, an entomologist and curator at the American Museum of Natural History. She's also the host of the PBS digital series Insectarium. Answers to your questions about cockroaches, termites, dragonflies, praying mantises and more! Download our learning guides: PDF | Google Slide
In this episode, Jess is joined by Dr. Joey Munoz to discuss various topics related to nutrition, including the monetization of expertise, the role of supplements, and the marketing tactics used in the supplement industry. They emphasize the importance of evidence-based claims and the need for individualized approaches to supplementation. The conversation covers the importance of dose and type of supplements, the limitations of marketing claims, and the Yuka app's oversimplification of food ratings. The hosts discuss the need for nuance and context in nutrition, the role of overall dietary patterns, and the potential for food anxiety and disordered eating caused by black-and-white labeling. They emphasize the importance of individual goals and habits, rather than focusing on good and bad foods.
