High-Tech Sunday will be a one-hour conversational style program where alumni would engage and inform the audience about professional development utilizing spiritual philosophies.Weekly discussions will be focused around topics like professional development, science and technology, workforce and family balance, ethics, and respect for others.Stemming from each of these five principles, the weekly events will focus on discussing and analyzing the societal problems at the intersection of technology and culture through a lens informed by spiritual philosophies.

CDR Walker has served on USS BATAAN, where he received the Humanitarian Service Medal after support of Hurricane Katrina humantarian assistance and disaster relief. Later, the Commander served on USS CARL VINSON, where he excelled at anticipating problem areas in management of 26 assessable chemical and radiological programs. Ashore, CDR Walker served as a Nuclear Programs Manager, Section Head for Amphibious Warfare In-Service Readiness, and most recently, the Executive Assistant to Commander, Second Fleet / Commander, Joint Forces Command Norfolk. In addition, Smith belongs to organizations such as the American Gas Association, Midwest Energy Association, and the National Society of Black Engineers, just to name a few. Frenae takes the time to volunteer with the Engineering Society of Detroit with Future Cities and the Engineering & Technology Job Fair. On today's episode of High-Tech Sunday, our hosts, Dr. Mark Vaughn and Lango Deen sit down with Dr. Mark Vaughn and Lango Deen sit down with Postdoctoral Researcher for Columbia University and 2021 Women of Color STEM Conference GEM Outstanding Young Alumnus awardee, Dr. Yazmin Feliz, for a conversation on Blazing Your Own Path!  Dr. Feliz tackles big challenges and upon embarking on her PhD journey has worked to solve one of the most pressing global problems in healthcare; the inaccessibility to affordable medical imaging used for helping diagnose and treat conditions ranging from pregnancy complications to cardiovascular malignancies.     On today’s episode of High-Tech Sunday, Dr. Mark Vaughn and Lango Deen sit down with 2011 BEYA Scientist of the Year, Dr. Victor McCrary. Vice President for Research and Graduate Programs at the University of the District of Columbia, Dr. McCrary leads the growth, development, direction, and oversight of the University’s research enterprise. He is a change agent and serial innovator, responsible for developing comprehensive, sustainable research strategies, fostering trans-disciplinary research and expanding research programs via engagement with federal and state agencies and private entities, including his significant contributions to Morgan State University becoming one of only 130 universities nationwide to have an R2 status in the Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education.Dr. McCrary has authored and co-authored more than 60 technical papers and co-edited two books during his career at AT&T Bell Laboratories and the National Institute of Standards and Technology. In October 2016, President Barack Obama appointed Dr. McCrary to serve on the National Science Board which oversees the National Science Foundation. Dr. Lyle successfully passed the Patent Bar and is a registered United States Patent and Trade Mark Office (USPTO) Patent Agent with credentials to prosecute patent applications before the USPTO.
