Many Restaurants With Kobe Beef on Their Menus Are Not Actually Serving Kobe Beef….

Many Restaurants With Kobe Beef on Their Menus Are Not Actually Serving Kobe Beef…. Japanese Kobe beef is considered the tastiest beef money can buy: a single steak can cost as much as $600. But an INSIDE EDITION investigation found that while some menus advertise Kobe beef, they are actually serving up meat of lesser value. Kobe beef, which has a marbled appearance, comes from pure-bred cattle raised on a special diet in Japan. The meat can cost $55 dollars an ounce, and only 400 pounds get shipped to in the U.S. each month, according to Kobe beef distributor Brent Nakama. Today, there are only 8 US retailers authorized to sell this rare, premium product, and only 37 to 43 US restaurants have the certification to serve it. Crowd Cow is honored to have earned our license and to work with Kobe farmers and processors as an official member of the Kobe Beef Association. #kobebeef #KobeBeefSteaks #Vansilk1127 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

Colorado collapses in second half against Stanford in improbable 46-43 2OT loss. Colorado's chances at a bowl game might have disappeared in an incredible second-half collapse against Stanford on Friday night. The Cardinal overcame a 29-0 halftime deficit to stun Colorado 46-43 in double overtime. Wide receiver Elic Ayomanor was unstoppable after halftime and made an amazing catch over Colorado star Travis Hunter to send the game to a second overtime. Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders threw an ill-advised interception on third down on the Buffs' possession in the second overtime as Stanford was able to win the game on a 31-yard field goal by Joshua Karty. The overtime TD catch was Ayomanor's third of the game. He finished with 13 catches for a school-record 294 yards as Colorado could do nothing to slow him down. Ayomanor scored Stanford's first TD of the game in the third quarter on a 97-yard catch-and-run. He scored on a 60-yard TD on the following possession and Stanford QB Ashton Daniels soon started to look his way nearly every pass play. The Buffs ended up with Hunter shadowing Ayomanor but even that didn't work. Daniels was 27-of-45 passing for 396 yards and four TDs. He had thrown for fewer than 60 yards and completed just a third of his passes before Ayomanor's 97-yard catch. Colorado looked great in the first half Colorado appeared on the way to a dominant win through the first 30 minutes. Hunter returned to the lineup for the first time since he suffered a lacerated liver on a late hit in Week 3 and scored the first TD of his Colorado career to give the Buffs a 14-0 lead. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

Rick Ross And Funk Flex Clown DJ Envy Over Real Estate Fraud Allegations According to Vibe.com. ick Ross and Funk Flex have thrown jabs at DJ Envy in light of accusations surrounding his involvement in an alleged real estate ponzi scheme. On Thursday night (Sept. 28), Ross appeared on Flex's Hot 97 radio show ahead of the release of he and Meek Mill's new single “Shaq & Kobe.” During his time on the station, the MMG boss took the opportunity to ridicule the Breakfast Club host and mixtape legend about being tied to the alleged fraud scheme involving his real estate venture. Earlier this summer, DJ Envy was included in a lawsuit against Cesar and Jennifer Pina, who are accused of defrauding investors of $1.5 million under the guise of numerous false promises and fraudulent statements.” According to the suit, the Pinas, the operators of Flip 2 Dao, “convinced plaintiffs Anthony Barone and Anthony Martinito to invest into a real estate project in Paterson, New Jersey. Envy is alleged to have introduced Barone and Marinito to fellow Hip-Hop figure DJ Clue and entrepreneur and influencer Gary “Vee” Vaynerchuck at a lunch meeting to help seal the deal. The plaintiffs say they became involved with the Pinas after hearing Envy speaking of the success of his real estate ventures on radio and his work with the Pinas to buy depreciating homes in the New Jersey area. However, multiple delays on the construction of the property caused the investor to grow concerned, resulting in him filing suit against the Pinas and Envy. Envy has since denied the allegations, claiming he wasn't involved directly with Flip 2 Dao and requesting that the lawsuit against him be dismissed. He also accused the plaintiffs of naming him in the suit due to his fame and popularity. The Pinas have since been hit with additional lawsuits and have been accused by other real estate moguls of committing fraud against their clients. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

On Wednesday (September 20), blogger Tasha K — who is perhaps best known for her costly legal battle with Cardi B — added fuel to the cheating rumors by sharing the image on social media. When he wasn't beating up Adam Sandler on a golf course, he was spending more than a half-century presiding over 'Truth or Consequences' and 'The Price Is Right.' Bob Barker, the energetic game show legend who for more than 50 years made every day entertaining as host of Truth or Consequences and The Price Is Right, has died. He was 99. Barker, who also was celebrated for his animal-rights activism and for one hilarious brawl with Adam Sandler in the 1996 golf comedy Happy Gilmore, died Saturday morning of natural causes in his longtime Hollywood Hills home, his representative, Roger Neal, told The Hollywood Reporter. Barker collected 15 Emmy Awards, including 12 for hosting. He was presented a Daytime Emmy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1999 and was inducted into the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Hall of Fame five years later. The Guinness World Records named him TV's Most Durable Performer as well as the Most Generous Host in Television History, having doled out, by its estimation, more than $200 million worth of prizes. In 1987, Barker stopped coloring his gray hair because of the animal products used in dyes and chastised the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants, which he hosted, for their use of furs. While he was doing Truth for nighttime viewing, Barker accepted producer Mark Goodson's offer to host a daytime show, a new version of The Price Is Right. He said he would have asked for more money had he known that CBS daytime head Bud Grant would not have bought the show unless Barker was on board. According to USA Today Clarence Avant, the executive and businessman known as “The Black Godfather” of music and entertainment, died Sunday at 92. Avant died at his Los Angeles home, his son Alex Avant, daughter Nicole Avant and son-in-law Ted Sarandos shared in a statement Monday. “It is with a heavy heart that the Avant/Sarandos family announce the passing of Clarence Alexander Avant,” the family said. “Through his revolutionary business leadership, Clarence became affectionately known as ‘The Black Godfather' in the worlds of music, entertainment, politics, and sports.” Avant's family added: “Clarence leaves behind a loving family and a sea of friends and associates that have changed the world and will continue to change the world for generations to come. The joy of his legacy eases the sorrow of our loss.” Avant's first foray into steering a record label came in 1967 with Venture Records, originally founded as an outlet for the soul recording artists on MGM Records. Venture Records lasted only two years, but Avant was ready to jump to his next assignment: helping to broker the sale of legendary Stax Records, which he did in 1968, before founding Sussex Records. Sussex, however, folded in 1975 after the IRS auctioned off the company's assets due to $48,000 in federal tax liens. In 2019, Avant received the Industry Icon Award as the honoree at fellow music mogul Clive Davis' annual Pre-Grammy Gala. “Clarence Avant was truly one of a kind. His passing is a great loss of someone who is irreplaceable,” Davis told USA TODAY in a statement Monday. “Clarence's extraordinary contribution to music and the barriers he broke throughout his career are unrivaled. He was the mentor to all Black executives in the music industry for decades, providing invaluable guidance and support while always standing up for equal rights. Clarence was humane and fair and inspired love and respect from all who knew him. As the chaos unfolded, a vehicle, believed to have been carrying Cenat, attempted to leave. The crowd could be seen mobbing it. It moved slowly through throngs of people before eventually speeding off, with people clinging to the sides and back. At least three people could be seen tumbling off the vehicle onto the pavement as it sped away. Cenat was taken into police custody for questioning at around 5 p.m. He did not have a permit for the event or preplan it with police. Police confirmed Friday evening that Cenat will be charged with at least two counts of inciting a riot and unlawful assembly, along with a few other charges. Earlier in the day, Cenat posted on social media that he would be there in person for the giveaway. He has more than 9 million combined followers on Twitch and other social media platforms. "Once the people for the giveaway started coming out, that's when, like, things started to get out of control because people started pushing and stuff," one witness said. LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lizzo has been sued by three former dancers who accuse the Grammy winner of sexual harassment and allege the singer and her production company created a hostile work environment. The civil lawsuit filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court claims Lizzo pressured the dancers to engage with nude performers at a club in Amsterdam and shamed one of them for her weight gain before firing her. Plaintiffs Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams and Noelle Rodriguez make numerous charges including sexual, religious and racial harassment, disability discrimination, assault and false imprisonment. Representatives for Lizzo didn't immediately respond to emails seeking comment on the lawsuit. The court filing claims that after performing a concert in Amsterdam, Lizzo and her crew attended a sexually themed show at a club in the city's notorious Red Light District where “Lizzo began inviting cast members to take turns touching the nude performers.” During the show, Lizzo led a chant pressuring Davis to touch the breasts of one of the nude women performing at the club, the filing states. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

Smith slaps Errol Spence Jr. with harsh retirement take after brutal loss vs. Terence Crawford Stephen A. Smith believes Errol Spence Jr. took such a beating against Terence Crawford that he should now consider retirement. Spence suffered the first defeat of his professional career following a ninth-round TKO loss to Terence Crawford in their welterweight title unification clash this past weekend. However, it was the manner of the defeat that shocked just about everyone in the combat sports world as Spence — who had never been knocked down before — was not only outclassed; he was battered and bloodied by Crawford who scored three knockdowns on the now-former three-belt welterweight champion. It certainly shocked Smith who had at one point prior to the fight, had Spence beating Crawford. Now, he feels the 33-year-old should consider stopping boxing entirely. “I believe that Errol Spence Jr. should consider retirement,” Smith said on First Take (via ESPN Ringside). Speaking of a rematch, it looks like we'll get to see just that as Errol Spence Jr. revealed post-fight that he not only planned on activating his rematch clause, but that it could happen before the end of the year. The weight would have to be decided, but clearly, “The Truth” has no plans to retire just yet. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

Her family and friends are devastated and have requested privacy at this very difficult time,” the singer's family said in a statement to The Irish Times and the BBC. A cause of death was not given. The artist, who courted controversy throughout her long career, rose to fame with her 1990 rendition of the Prince song “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 that same year. Her death comes one year after her 17-year-old son, Shane O'Connor, died of an apparent suicide. She announced his passing in January 2022. For much of her career, she spoke candidly and openly about her spiritual life, political views and struggles with mental health, which she detailed in her 2021 memoir “Rememberings.” In 2018, O'Connor converted to Islam and changed her name to “Shuhada.” “This is to announce that I am proud to have become a Muslim,” she wrote on Twitter on October 2018. “This is the natural conclusion of any intelligent theologian's journey. Carlee Russell admitted she did not see a toddler wandering on the side of the highway and lied about being kidnapped in a hoax that set off a nationwide effort to find her, an attorney for the Alabama woman said Monday. Hoover Police Chief Nicholas C. Derzis read the statement provided by Russell's attorney during a news conference, in which the 25-year-old nursing student said she was not abducted as the nation was led to believe when she disappeared July 13. Russell said she had not left the Hoover area. She returned home about 49 hours after a call to 911 reporting seeing the child on the interstate. “My client apologizes for her actions to this community, to the volunteers who were searching for her, to the Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well,” the statement said. The police department is consulting with the district attorney's office regarding potential criminal charges, according to Derzis. Authorities had said they were unable to verify initial statements made by Russell after she returned home two days later. Russell's parents, Talitha and Carlos Russell, told “TODAY” last week that their daughter was not in a “good state” when she returned and appeared to have undergone serious trauma. “There were moments when she physically had to fight for her life, and there were moments when she had to mentally fight for her life,” Talitha Russell said. “She made it back.” #CarleeRussell #vansilk1127 --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

A clip circulating social media sees Usher serenading the Nope actress who plays into the performance, sings along and dances with the There Goes My Baby singer. Palmer is dressed to the nines for the concert at Usher's Las Vegas residency in a black bodysuit and sheer dress. Since commenting on the video, Jackson has been slammed on social media by fans calling him "insecure" and "corny," but the fitness instructor has continued to double down on the remarks. "We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn't want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is," Jackson wrote in a followup tweet. India.Arie's Criticism of Megan Thee Stallion, Janelle Monáe's Essence Fest Performances Sparks Debate. According to the ROOT.com. When you're a Black woman in the entertainment industry, everyone has opinions on how you should act and present yourself. Even other Black women feel the need to chime in on your art. To that end, Neo-soul pioneer India.Arie sparked debate when she criticized the sexuality presented by Megan Thee Stallion and Janelle Monáe during their performances at the 2023 ESSENCE Festival of Culture. Toward the end of her set on Sunday, the “Savage” rapper invited a group of fans on stage to give them an expert lesson in twerking. Monáe, who was also criticized for flashing one of her breasts during her performance, played cheerleader from the side of the stage and everyone seemed to be having fun. Essence posted a short video of the moment on its Instagram page with the caption, “Hot girl bootcamp was in full effect last night. It's @janellemonae with the encouragement for us.” While there were plenty of disapproving replies to the video, Arie's IG post is getting the most attention. The issue is what is CONTEXT. Humanity does EVERYTHING. But does EVERYTHING BELONG IN A STAGE. No. is everything for KIDS? No. is everything for EVERY BODY?,” Arie wrote. “NO. so when we as a culture make something like this main stream ~ it shows a lack of discretion [and] discernment.” Just as many folks have the right to want our MAINSTREAM International export—out Music—to show us in a respectful light,” she continued. “[I'd] like to go on the record saying : this wont age well and thats my issue. i LOVE Janelle and Meg the way i love us all—And i dont like this moment. Diddy sues company behind his liquor brands for discrimination. According to New York Times. Business mogul Sean “Diddy” Combs has sued the British beverage company that co-owns his liquor brands, claiming that the spirits giant Diageo has “kneecapped” his Ciroc and DeLeon labels' sales growth for almost a decade and starved them of resources while better marketing its other brands such as Don Julio and Casamigos. Diddy's Combs Wines and Spirits LLC is alleging that Diageo treated his DeLeon tequila and Ciroc vodka as inferior “Black brands” or “ethnic brands” that should be targeted to “urban” consumers, according to a racial discrimination lawsuit his company filed Wednesday in New York Supreme Court in Manhattan. Combs Wines also alleges that Diageo produced lower quantities of DeLeon compared to Don Julio and Casamigos, distributed it in far fewer outlets, failed to provide “sufficient and substantially consistent support” for the brand, limited its marketing and promotion to “urban” communities and failed to include DeLeon in non-brand-specific pages and promos online where its other brands were showcased. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

Network management was expected to inform approximately 20 on-air employees that they were being let go Friday, but it did not make the names public, instead leaving it to the talent and their agents to confirm their status. Among those who were informed that they were being let go Friday were NBA analysts Jeff Van Gundy and Jalen Rose; NFL studio host Suzy Kolber and analysts Steve Young, Keyshawn Johnson, and Matt Hasselbeck; NFL draft expert Todd McShay; MLB writer and analyst Joon Lee; men's college basketball analyst LaPhonso Ellis; “SportsCenter” anchor Ashley Brewer; host Max Kellerman; and ESPN Radio host Jason Fitz. The decision to cut ties with Van Gundy was perhaps the most stunning. The former Knicks and Rockets coach had been part of ESPN's NBA broadcasts for 16 years, working with Mike Breen and Mark Jackson since the 2014 NBA Finals. Rose, a versatile commentator who has been part of several ESPN programs, including its “NBA Countdown” studio show since 2012, also was a surprising dismissal. The global mega-tour was set to hit 43 cities and last through the end of January 2024. As part of the racketeering conspiracy, Senior participated in a shooting in Florida on July 5, 2020, and a robbery in New York City on August 5, 2018, and conspired to traffic over 100 kilograms of marijuana. Advertisement U.S. Attorney Damian Williams said: “Caswell Senior is not just a notorious recording artist, but he is also a high-profile leader of a vicious street gang and a magnet for gang violence. At a crowded Miami house party, Senior personally fired a gun that seriously injured and could have killed a victim, inciting a shootout. Further, Senior's stature in the community was central to Gorilla Stone's successful recruitment and nationwide expansion. Today's sentencing — along with the other significant sentences that have been imposed in this case — shows once again that gang life is not worth it and will lead to many years in prison.” According to the Indictment, public court filings, and statements made in court: Since at least 2004, Gorilla Stone has been a brutally violent street gang with a national presence that was founded by SENIOR's co-defendant Dwight Reid, a/k/a “Dick Wolf.” Gorilla Stone has many members across New York State, including throughout New York City, Westchester, and the New York State Prison System, and all over the country — such as in Florida, where SENIOR engaged in substantial criminal conduct. Gorilla Stone is comprised of various sets (or “Caves,” as they are called by gang members). Gorilla Stone is a highly organized and efficient street gang with an organizational commitment to violence that strictly enforces its internal laws. SENIOR's Gorilla Stone co-defendants were charged with a host of crimes committed in furtherance of their joint enterprise. Some of the charges against Gorilla Stone members include racketeering conspiracy, various frauds, a large-scale narcotics conspiracy that SENIOR actively participated in, myriad firearms offenses, and numerous acts of violence, including a daytime murder of a juvenile in the middle of a Poughkeepsie street; multiple attempted murders and shootings, including two in Florida in which SENIOR was involved; a gunpoint drug-related robbery; and a brutal slashing. For over a decade, SENIOR participated in and was associated with the Gorilla Stone racketeering conspiracy. SENIOR was a powerful, respected, high-profile member of the gang. SENIOR admitted that he was an organizer or leader of a criminal activity that involved five or more participants. SENIOR joined the gang while incarcerated over a decade ago and has remained an active member ever since, including upon his release from custody from a prior case in 2013. As part of the racketeering activity, on or about July 5, 2020, while in Florida for a gang member's birthday, SENIOR shot a gun at a gang member with whom he was having a gambling dispute, hitting one gang member in the leg/calf area and a second, different gang member in the foot when the bullet ricocheted. A victim suffered serious bodily injury because of the shooting and was treated at a Miami-area hospital for a gunshot wound to the foot. Thereafter, other party attendees, including a member of Gorilla Stone, discharged multiple firearms. Additionally, as part of an August 5, 2018, robbery at a Manhattan diner that SENIOR participated in, a victim was restrained and suffered serious bodily injury. The robbery started when SENIOR appeared to believe that a female victim took a photo of him from the booth where the victim was sitting. SENIOR then proceeded to forcefully take the victim's cellphone. SENIOR's gang member associate then came up behind the victim and put her in a headlock until she fell to the floor unconscious from lack of oxygen. SENIOR further agreed to traffic at least 100 kilograms of marijuana. During an approximately nine-month period, SENIOR was responsible for distributing between 100 kilograms and 400 kilograms of his personally branded “2x” marijuana. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support

Congratulations to Denver Nuggets 2023 NBA CHAMPS! Kitchener's Jamal Murray and the Denver Nuggets are NBA champions for the first time. The wait was more than worth it. The Denver Nuggets refused to give up on Jamal Murray on his long and difficult rehabilitation after knee surgery: no knee-jerk reaction to a tough break, no resets, no trades, no panic. Just organizational patience and poise in the knowledge that when Murray got all the way back, anything was possible. Anything became something special in Denver on Monday night, when Murray and the Nuggets captured the NBA championship with a 94-89 win over the Miami Heat to win the series in five games. It was the first championship in the 47-year NBA history of the Nuggets franchise. The Kitchener-raised Murray, who missed more than an entire season after ACL surgery, firmly re-established himself as a big-game, big-time performer throughout the Finals, and the playoffs overall. He wasn't brilliant in Monday's clincher, but he made a series of big shots and big plays at big moments at Ball Arena. The Nuggets didn't play skittishly, but they weren't entirely in sync in the first half. Jokic, Murray and Gordon all battled foul trouble and Denver was an abysmal 1-for-15 from three-point range in the first half. And with Adebayo racking up 18 points and nine rebounds in the first half alone, the Heat led 51-44 at the break. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/van-silk/support
