Als eingefleischte Hitchcock-Fans war es für Michael und Rüdiger nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis sie sich den ersten Film des Regie-Altmeisters für ein Filmduell aussuchen. Die Wahl fiel auf "Bei Anruf Mord", nicht zuletzt weil sie das perfekte Pendant dazu hatten: "Nicht Auflegen" mit Colin Farrell. Der fast 50 Jahre jüngere Thriller von Joel Schumacher hat nicht nur ebenfalls einen mörderischen Anruf im Fokus, er gaht sogar auch noch auf eine Idee von Alfred Hitchcock zurück. Und so philosophieren die beiden über die Entstehung der Filme, die Fehlentscheidung aus einem von ihnen einen 3D-Film zu machen, Hitchcocks wegweisenden Cameo-Auftritt oder Joel Schumachers Stress mit Diamantenhändlern.  Und natürlich gibt es dazwischen auch wieder das obligatorische Trivia-Duell wo sich die beiden tief in die Recherche gestürzt haben und dabei unter anderem den unglaublichen Box-Office-Erfolg von "Bei Anruf Mord" in Neuseeland, einen Oscar-Gewinner unter dem Schneidetisch, das Bollywood-Remake eines der Filme sowie eine ungelöste Frage bei "Wer wird Millionär?" gefunden haben. Tucked into a small corner of Disney's Hollywood Studios, Muppet Vision 3D has been hosting guests for thirty years.  While the surrounding areas of the park have seen, shall we say, drastic renovations and rethemes throughout that time, this stalwart little attraction remains nearly unchanged from its opening day version.  This week, we're taking a look at the history of this classic 3D attraction, the massive land that was originally planned for the area, as well as the other iterations of Muppets in Disney parks. Music by Colin Paul.

Vor 10 Jahren kam der Film in die Kinos, der bis heute das höchste Einspielergebnis erziehlen konnte, inflationsbereinigt immerhin noch das zweithöchste. "Avatar" machte den 3D-Film wieder (Kino)sa(a)lonfähig. Fast jeder hat ihn 2009 gesehen, wir natürlich auch. Doch wie macht sich der Film eine Dekade nach dem großen Hype? Wir zumindest können auf 3D verzichten und wirklich viel hängen geblieben ist auch nicht mehr von damals. Bevor es jedoch um "Avatar" geht, schweifen wir erst einmal in gewohnter Manier ein Stündchen ab und reden über (Gott und) die Welt. Eine sehr gute Folge also um einfach mal den Kopf abzuschalten. Viel Spaß! Im "Neue Helden" Podcast (angelehnt an den völlig beknackten deutschen Titel von "Trainspotting" von 1996) quatschen Yorick und Andreas über Filme. Und das sehr gut. Es soll aber nicht ausschließlich um Reviews und Talks über einzelne Werke gehen, sondern auch um alles drum herum: Kinokultur, Filmemacher, Franchises, Sehgewohnheiten und nicht zuletzt auch um uns und unsere eigene Film-Produktionen, denn auch die gibt es.

3D-Festival BEYOND 2012 | Symposium Thu, June 21 – Sun, June 24, 2012 Karlsruhe becomes the epicenter of the 3D pioneer work: The 3D-Symposium BEYOND is the continuation of the successfully conducted 3D-Festival BEYOND, gathering the most important national and international signposts and innovators of stereoscopic 3D, such as Wim Wenders, Keith Cunningham and Jeffrey Shaw featuring lectures to impel new contents next to application devices in the area of TV, art, science, storytelling and education within this future technology. These different topic areas build the bases of an unusual 3D experience, while the focus of the symposium will refer to the intermediation and transfer of knowledge with help of discussions and lectures. All lectures will be held in English!

Er ist wieder zurück, kritischer denn je: Dr. Raebi! Mein Name ist Dr Raebi, ich bin 76 Jahre alt, schaue seit 74 Jahren Filme, und bin stolzer Besitzer eines Ultraschall-Gebissreinigers. „TRON LEGACY“ gilt als der beste 3D Film seit AVATAR. Reines Erlebniskino, dabei erlebt man doch immer im Kino etwas, wenn es sich nicht gerade um ein französisches Programmkino handelt. Da erlebe ich mehr, wenn ich den ganzen Tag aus dem Fenster schaue, mit geschlossener Jalousie. Optisch sieht der Film so aus, als wäre er mit Energiesparlampen beleuchtet worden. Reicht doch, wenn man zu Hause im Dunkeln sitzt. Genauso bleibt leider auch der Sinn des Films im Dunkeln. Er spielt nämlich in einer Art futuristischem Flipperautomaten. Dieser Hightech Mist ist nichts für mich, ich bin froh, wenn ich meinen Videorekorder bedienen kann und meinen Toaster. Schon in den Fünfzigern wurden die ersten 3D Filme gedreht. In den Achtzigern, kam dann die zweite Welle, in denen man vermutete, dreidimensionale Filme würden das Kino revolutionieren. Ich bin gespannt wie lange es diesmal dauern wird, bis man merkt, dass man auch ohne 3D Brille das Pinkelbecken trifft.

Die Rätsel der Zelle besser aufl ösen – das gelingt nun dank einer bahnbrechenden Mikroskoptechnik. Das Team um Professor Heinrich Leonhardt konnte mit dieser neuen Technologie erstmals Strukturen einer Säugerzelle in 3D, mehreren Farben und in bislang unerreichter Aufl ösung darstellen. Dabei sind Details zu sehen wie das genetische Material, die umgebende Kernhülle und sogar einzelne Kernporen. Die Forscher wollen zelluläre Vorgänge nun auch als 3D Film aufnehmen.
