The Dreadcast is back in the world of Jigsaw and his wonderfully horrifying creative traps. Techincally, we actually ARE in the world of 'Jigsaw' in this episode as we take a deep look at the traps laid out in 2010's SAW 3D, and the first attempt of a return to the franchise, Jigsaw from 2017. It's time to get back in the Cage! Nicolas Cage recently starred in the VOD western GUNSLINGERS, also starring Stephen Dorff, Heather Graham, and Officer Mark Hoffman from SAW III, SAW IV, SAW V, SAW VI, SAW 3D, and SAW X. Mike and Mike will spend the episode debating the question: is this among the worst Nicolas Cage VOD releases?
This is our holidays episode. Our gift to you is a review of a mid-bad movie. I this episode, Mandy discusses her log and we find out that Kam is a giver. We appreciated some old people candies. Kam discovers that crows and pigs sound a lot alike. This movie really does have it all though; a thirsty TV host, murder crime, tooth stuff, go karts with sharp metal protuberances, throat stabs for everyone, and Jill Saw's lack of hiding ability. Happy holidays, and remember, we're all pink and squishy on the inside. www.franchisefrightspodcast.com
Is it really a franchise if there isn't at least one in 3D? Alas, join Sam and Liz as they talk about Saw: The Final Chapter aka Saw 3D which brought us weird sub plots, an incredible amount of abandoned warehouses, man child Detective Hoffman's weird grudge and lastly, a jigsaw trap in full public display. 20 years ago, the first Saw was released to theaters and movies haven't ever been the same since. James Wan's directorial debut spawned one of the most lucrative, if not polarizing franchises in horror history, with a sequel being pumped out on a yearly basis. With each entry, the timeline got more hopelessly convoluted and backlash intensified over the franchise's penchant for torment. So the producers decided to pump the breaks and end the series with Saw 3D, an entry that was so disappointing that they had no choice but to reboot the franchise several times over. "Saw 3D" has often been regarded as a low point for a franchise that was already seeing diminishing returns, but the resurgence of the Saw franchise has led some to reevaluate the "Hoffman" era.Gabe and Connor ask: is Saw 3D a mess of a finale that prioritizes gimmicks over story? Or is it a solid Saw film with some franchise highlights in it? Well strap on that Reverse Bear Claw and grab those 3D glasses, because Gabe and Connor are going to play a game... the game of Saw 3D. #sawfranchise #3d #sequels #jameswan

PUBLIC VERSION. Writer and Director Marcus Dunstan (FEAST, FEAST 2, SAW IV, SAW V, SAW VI, SAW 3D, THE COLLECTOR, THE COLLECTION, THE NEIGHBOR, SCARY STORIES TO TELL IN THE DARK) makes his triumphant return to THE MOVIE CRYPT to discuss the making of his latest film #AMFAD: ALL MY FRIENDS ARE DEAD (in theaters and available on VOD now). From rolling with the changes that Hollywood has undergone over the last decade and surviving through the pandemic and strikes… to how he got involved with #AMFAD… to how he pulled off the film on such extremely tight resources (the initial production schedule was just 12 days!)… to how he found a way to solve some of the craziest hurdles he faced… to the film's world premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival… to BREAKING NEWS about the status of a new COLLECTOR film which Marcus received just minutes before this recording… to a discussion about which films each of the guys would remake if given the chance (and who they would cast)… to why leaning on fellow filmmakers for support and encouragement is such a pivotal part of staying sane in the business… to everyone's favorite X-FILES episode and SO much more… this extremely uplifting conversation is just what you need to hear this week and the perfect example why Marcus is one of our favorite people in the known universe.
The time has come for the seventh Saw installment: Saw 3D where the only thing more cutting edge than Jigsaw's knives is the stunning use of 3D technology. Laura and Nate are opening yet another bottle of Apothic Red to wind down and see what happens next in the epic tale that is Jigsaw's kingdom of murder. New Jigsaw is not happy with the late Jigsaw's wife and he will do anything to get back at her. Will he win? Will he lose? Who knows! (We do because we watched the movie!)

The 2 Guys 5 Movies podcast continues their latest journey this year as they continue to delve into the universe of Saw. This episode features Saw VI and Saw 3D, which wraps up the Detective Hoffman storyline. Surprisingly, the 2 Guys are more positive about these installments! Finally, if you have your own ideas for the podcast, you can also email us with list suggestions at 2guys5movies@gmail.com, and thank you all for listening and your support.
Episode 276 It must be Spring– there's no new horror this week. Instead, we'll take a look at some more oldies. We'll start with the seventh Saw movie, “Saw 3D: The Final Chapter.” It wasn't in 3D for us, and it wasn't the final chapter, but that's the way things go sometimes. We'll stop in on Johnny Depp and Tim Burton with 2012's “Dark Shadows” spoof. Then we'll watch a contender for Worst Movie of All Time with “Dead Sea.” As a palette cleanser, we'll watch the stalker movie “Cold Creek Manor.” The weekly newsletter this time around has two more oldies. Neither of these films are horror, but both star Peter Lorre, the subject of this week's free biography: “The Man Who Knew Too Much” (1932 ) Hitchcock! “The Maltese Falcon” (1941) Bogart! Those two can be found at http://horrorbulletin.com Check out all our books with one easy link: https://brianschell.com/collection/horrorguys Announcement! We've launched a new series of books under a new imprint: Hourlong Press now offers a new, free, nonfiction book every week. Check out https://hourlongpress.com/ and sign up for the weekly free book newsletter. The first half-dozen or so books will be about legendary horror icons: Vincent Price, Lon Chaney Jr., Bela Lugosi, Christopher Lee, etc., so I'll be pointing those out in this newsletter, but to get future, non-horror–related books, you'll need to be on that email list. For the next five days, you can get “Peter Lorre: The Biography” absolutely for free from Amazon. Next week, there'll be another! Here. We. Go! Finally, we've reached the end of the road, the final chapter, the – wait, aren't there 3 more movies after this? Jordan and Stefan watch Saw 3D (or possible Saw: The Final Chapter) and reflect on the long, twisty, flashback- and trap-filled journey to get here. What does it all mean? Have we been rehabilitated yet? Let's find out.
What's good, #teamdoom! This is the 100th episode of Let's Talk about Horror and the show is packed with topics. First, I want to talk about my journey on why I started my podcast and how it's going. Am I coming back for another 100? Next, I start you guys' theme of Banned Movies with our first film Saw 3D. Was this film deserving of a ban? A certain European country thinks so. Last, we are getting back to animals on drugs when I react to the news that Cocaine Werewolf is on the way. Are we ready for this wild ride? As always I have a Slasher Corner movie of the week and this one is relative to Women's Horror Month. WARNING: SPOILERS ARE IN THE SHOW. Christian and Elle refuse to pull out any of their teeth. At the end of each Overkill episode we answer the question- are we still in on this franchise or is it overkill? We continue our series by reviewing SAW 3D. We dig into the world building, the return of Dr. Gordon, and wrapping up storylines for some main characters. We also discuss waffles, wet dreams, and our preferred Saw trap wardrobe. We'd love to hear your thoughts, questions, or any requests you have. this is a comedy ""podcast"" btw believe it or not. It is a joke, it is parody, it is satire. It is not serious; it is not meant to be taken seriously. I do not condone the physical harming or even light harassment of real estate agents in any way shape or form. Do not call, text, or email Jeffrey Doussan or Keller Williams of New Orleans. Do not write funny bad reviews on yelp or google or furnished finder. Do not send pipe bombs or bomb threats to his house or any of his listed properties. I mean it! If you do any of these things you will be banned from podcasts forever. Thank you enjoy the show. Looking at rentals is really fun cuz real estate agents and property managers are some of the most redacted and oblivious people you have to trust with your livelihood. Recently I had scheduled to see a place and the guy no showed, no contact I messaged and emailed him multiple times and 3 days later he texted "apologies out of town." He then proceeds to try to reschedule immediately for the next day at 11am I say can we do 2pm he says no we can't let's do Monday 2pm I say okay Monday 2pm he says great I say great and then he says actually we can do tomorrow Friday 2pm i say perfect cool then Friday at 11am he says you must think we're crazy but we're actually just short-handed can you do monday 2pm and then i showed up today Monday at 2pm and the guy is 10 minutes late, I text the guy and he said "oh Philip's not there?" Philip the minion shows up within 1 minute of me texting, Philip says haha it's good thing our office is right around the corner and he points to a building literally right behind the rental and gives me the dorkiest fcking smile and I want to drown Philip in a puddle. We go to open the door and he doesn't have the right keypad code. I stand around in the rain for about 5 minutes while he calls and texts people and then he's like oh we can just try the other side of the duplex and I asked if the other side is the same layout and price and furnishings and he said no so I said no and so we sat in the rain for another 5 minutes and he finally gets the code and we go in. It looks like the last tenant had just left, all the lights and tvs are on and trash cans full, poop splatters on the toilet and it smells like cat piss. Despite this, I message the property manager that I am interested and would like to move forward with my application and he likes my message and says nothing else. $1400/month. a few years ago, a property manager was stunned that I requested to inspect the house before signing a legal document that said we conducted an inspection and told me I was the first person to ever do so. He addressed me as "Gay bro" in a text and it was never acknowledged $1754/month 440 sq feet #italiano #realestateagent #propertymanagement When you were investing in real estate, I studied the blade. When you were having open houses, I mastered the blockchain. While you wasted your days at the bank in pursuit of equity, I cultivated inner strength. And now that the world is on fire and the barbarians are at the gate you have the audacity to come to me for rent. It's free! Real estate! We're giving you land! It's free. We're giving you a house. It's real estate. Free. It's a free house for you, Jim. This is free real estate! You gotta bring furniture, but the house is free! Two bedrooms, no rugs. It's free! You unlock the door to your free house, we got you the real estate! It's a two bedroom house, its free, its got a pool in the back. I'm not carrying this around all day! It's for your house! Free real estate, I'll pee my pants. Jim, come get your damn land. It's a free house! Jim, I got real estate. Jim, does it get better than this? Jim! The house is free! Jim! The house is free! It's been four movies since the pompous “not-a-murderer” murderer, John Kramer, left this world worse than he found it. Yet, somehow we have more Jigsaws than ever! So, us Judys have our hands tied (up) with all the Jigsaw judging that needs to be done. This week we are back with a not so final chapter of Saw 3D. We are here to find out how the story of John Kramer, Amanda, and John's large adult son Detective Hoffman wraps up once and for all. We enter the 3rd Dimension to do so and we get even more of cops being stupid the movie, more gore, and the first public display of Jigsaw's talents with one of the most ludicrous and over the top traps the franchise has ever gifted us. We also discuss the Intriguing premise of John punishing someone for lying about being in one of his traps while lamenting with the fact that this great idea wasn't presented all that well. all this in so much more with perhaps the most over the top in goofiest entry of the franchise to date with special guest Sarah Stubbs from Final Girls Feast and Geeks Who Eat. Minor spoilers for SAW X between 1:40:30 & 1:43:39 where Mike asks a question that literally breaks Ari's brain in real time. Check out Ariel's article “The Hypocrisy of Jigsaw” here
A silly episode for a silly movie. Good silly! We had a lot of fun with this Extremely Goofy Movie that attempts to wrap up the series with a slightly more heightened style than your average Saw (which is really saying something). Kevin Greutert is back and thank god Twisted Pictures forced him into it. Jigsaw/Hoffman/Dr. Cary Elwes take their revenge on cheaters, racists, liars, and, of course, the haters and the losers. Guts are spilled, saws are thrown into the audience 3D-style, flashback Jigsaw wears a backwards hat signalling his relative youth... what a picture. This wraps up the one-a-year Sawmill approach to the franchise... next week is the 2017 release Jigsaw which is more of a spinoff as far as I understand. This is the end... or is it... just the beginning of the first part of the end?
Join the host next week as they plunge into the film that marks the conclusion of the original timeline of movies. Will this serve as an epic finale to the story that began with "Saw" 2004? Will they successfully address loose ends and bring the narrative to a satisfying close? Stay tuned to uncover the answers! --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/haddonfieldhorrors/message
Jigsaw's long-term apprentice Mia Lee Vicino sat down with the director of Saw X, Kevin Greutert, to pick his brain about the long-running horror franchise. Kevin has edited the first five Saw films, directed fan-favorite Saw VI and Saw 3D, and now returns to the electric director's chair for the tenth installment, which is—as of recording—the most critically acclaimed Saw since Lawrence and Adam initially got trapped in that fateful bathroom nineteen years ago. We chat about the beauty and brutality of New French Extremity and practical gore, which Saw traps we could most likely survive and whether or not Jigsaw's claims of “never having killed anyone” are credible, or just delusional. Blades up, little murder puppets! Credits: Recorded in Brooklyn NY and Los Angeles CA. Edited by Slim. Theme music: “Vampiros Danceoteque” by Moniker. Editorial producer: Brian Formo. Production manager: Sophie Shin. The Letterboxd Show is a TAPEDECK production.

THE ONE WHERE EVERYONE REPLACED THEIR BLOOD WITH PEPTO.Despite having the perfect opportunity to end the franchise with Saw VI, Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures sought to squeeze out one more, with the extra gimmick that every sizable film from 2010 onward had to have: 3D. Yes, even the Saw franchise wasn't immune to Jim Cameron's unintended influence, and it's put to use here about as well as a mid-2000's Robert Rodriguez kid's film. So, with all of this baggage mixed in with the long-awaited return of Cary Elwes as Dr. Gordon, how did the then-ending of the Saw franchise fare? Come continue the MaraSAWn with Brian and Alec to find out as they revisit the reviled Saw 3D: The Final Chapter!
Our rewatch/recap of the Saw franchise continues with a late, great entry to the series--SAW VI! This is the film where John Kramer develops something close to a coherent moral code! Some of the people in this movie actually deserve what they get!AND get ready for next week, because we'll be rounding out the existing franchise. That's right! We'll be watching SAW 3D (2010), JIGSAW (2017), and *sigh* SPIRAL (2021). This season of ScaryCrit keeps coinciding with some must-watch horror releases and we'd be remiss if we didn't take full advantage! This week's episode is no different as we grab hold of A24's horror feature Talk to Me (2023), having seen it on its opening night. We think that Talk to Me is a unique film in that it operates parallel to your typical possession horror flick (which makes for some unforgettable results). Listen in as we unpack that as well as the Philippou bros.'s direction (and career beginnings), the bystander effect and what it means to bear witness in regards to social media as a narrative device, the jarring juxtaposition in framing possession as a party game, and Mia's intense and lonely bout as a grieving protagonist. This episode might be a long one but we'd like to think it's quite gripping all the same. So, take our hand and let us guide you straight into another stellar episode of ScaryCrit! It's so cool that John Kramer died in Saw III and then also in Saw IV but he's still in every movie. RIP Chester. And Jill Tuck. And Luke Danes.
