Another year, another festival recap! In today's episode of Behind the Pursuit we reflect on our experiences at the recent Kentucky Bourbon Festival and Bourbon and Beyond Festival. We discuss the evolution of Pursuit Spirits over the last three years and how our presence at these festivals has changed over those years. The conversation highlights the importance of brand storytelling, the growing popularity of Double Oaked, and the intersection of bourbon culture with music festivals. We share insights on consumer behavior, sales performance, and the overall atmosphere at the events, emphasizing the excitement and community surrounding bourbon and whiskey tasting. We hit on: With this being the first year hosting the events on separate weeks, did you prefer that to when it was all on one weekend? What did you look forward going into KBF this year? Did you do anything differently? How does it feel that people aren't asking your story anymore? How do you keep your story integrated but pivot to what's more of the focus with consumers? Was anything surprising about what people enjoyed during the tastings at the booth? Did KBF feel bigger without sharing the stage with Bourbon & Beyond? What role do you feel bourbon plays in a growing annual music festival? What do the results of these last two weeks have you thinking about for next year? and much more. Welcome to Louisville, Kentucky! We are here to run a race that supports the Navy Seals Foundation and attend the Bourbon and Beyond Festival! RUN We ran the Joggin for Frogmen 5K to benefit the Navy Seals Foundation on Saturday. EAT After Bourbon and Beyond was canceled, on Sunday, we discovered Guy Fieri's Smokehouse. We had to try the Trashcan Nachos because they combine our love of great nachos with brisket and a bourbon brown sugar BBQ sauce! The presentation alone is worth ordering them, but the taste is "off the hook" as Guy might say! DRINK We washed those nachos down with one of our favorite beers made in Kentucky, the Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale from AllTech. Aged in Bourbon Barrels, it has between 7-9% ABV and a caramel goodness and color. Not too sweet and no bitter finish. One of our favorites anywhere we go! Thank you for hanging in there with us, even though plans changed after Bourbon and Beyond was canceled in the interest of safety for everyone. We hope you'll try Guy's amazing restaurant! We wanted to get so much more there! The meatloaf looked incredible and the Pit Ends Chili sounded tasty, too! THAT'S A WRAP Thank you for watching! Here's hoping for a great second year of the podcast because of all your support! Please subscribe and rate us on iTunes. We would love to hear your feedback and need your help getting discovered as a podcast! Follow us on our website, Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
Welcome to Louisville, Kentucky! We are here to run a race that supports the Navy Seals Foundation and attend the Bourbon and Beyond Festival! RUN In this episode, we run the Joggin for Frogmen 5K to benefit the Navy Seals Foundation on Saturday. It was at South Oldham High School in Crestwood, not too far outside Louisville. The weather was awesome and the course was almost entirely on the high school campus. It was mainly flat and it is an inexpensive race that everyone can run or walk and feel inspired knowing they are supporting a great cause. We talk to the media manager for the event, Steve Watkins, who is also a former Navy Seal, and he tells us about the foundation and what it does for families of Navy Seals as well as Navy Seals themselves. EAT We got to the Bourbon and Beyond Festival on the first day with a plan to research and prepare to film our food segments on the second day of the festival. We saw lots of local eats and we talked to several people at many booths. We were exited. I can tell you Island Noodles were tasty... we wish we had filmed some segments on Saturday. DRINK We tried many cocktails as part of the Jefferson's Reserve.VIP Lounge Area. The Jefferson's Airplane was a great cocktail that was part of our VIP experience. The Old Fashioned they made us was also awesome. We wanted to bring you so many of the offerings from the local distilleries as well. We should have filmed everything we tried that day because.... THE WEATHER HAD OTHER PLANS... It started raining like cats and dogs and we took shelter as we watched great musical acts like Keb Mo' Sheryl Crow, and Lenny Kravitz. At the end of the night, we made our way to get picked up at the Uber / Lyft shared ride location. It was ankle-deep mud because of the rain and it was difficult for many to exit the park. The city declared the park unsafe and canceled day two. We understood. Safety is always the top priority. We also knew we had to change course so we could bring you some of what Louisville has to offer should you come here to run a race or visit for an awesome vacation. We decided to go on a couple of distillery tours and to a couple of restaurants, so we will bring you those in future Quick Bites. Thank you for hanging in there with us, even though plans changed in the interest of safety for everyone. THAT'S A WRAP Thank you for watching! Here's hoping for a great second year of the podcast because of all your support! Please subscribe and rate us on iTunes. Welcome to Louisville, Kentucky! We are here to run a race that supports the Navy Seals Foundation and attend the Bourbon and Beyond Festival! RUN In this Quick Bite, we are just arriving in Louisville. We check into the Seelbach Hilton as we prepare for our Joggin for Frogmen 5K to benefit the Navy Seals Foundation on Saturday. But first, we need to explore our hotel! EAT Just inside of the Seelbach Hilton, we found one of the top 50 bars in the world! Right at our hotel, can you believe it? And their food is just one reason why. Can you say Jerk Chicken Tater Tots? We can say that these are on the "must-eat" list at this bar. DRINK We had to try toe Seelbach cocktail, featuring Old Forester bourbon. Wow. It is one with the right mixture of sweet and spice to start the weekend off right! THAT'S A WRAP Thank you for watching! Here's hoping for a great second year of the podcast because of all your support! Please subscribe and rate us on iTunes. As much as we are all fans of music and food, at this weekend’s Bourbon and Beyond Festival the chefs and musicians may be the biggest admirers of each other’s performances. That’s one thing we learned from Tiffany Dorman, who calls herself an “experiential strategist with a focus in the integration of food, beverage and […]
If Fred Minnick had any more balls in the air right now, the circus would be calling him with a job offer as a juggler. He's launching the new Bourbon+ Magazine as its founding editor-in-chief, curating the Bourbon events for next month's Bourbon and Beyond Festival in Louisville, and his book publisher has just commissioned a second edition of his award-winning book "Bourbon Curious." If that's not enough, he and his wife Jaclyn are a few weeks away from having their second child. We got Fred to relax for a few minutes on this week's WhiskyCast In-Depth. In the news, Heaven Hill has filed a trademark infringement lawsuit against Bob Dylan's new Heaven's Door whiskies. Scottish officials are taking the next step in reviving distilling at the historic Dallas Dhu Distillery in Speyside while keeping it open as a museum, and the hot summer could mean tighter supplies of barley for distillers.

3D-Festival BEYOND 2016 | Symposium Panel discussion with Thorsten Bauer, Vincent Heuveline, Kathleen Schröter, Alexander Colsmann und Ralf Schäfer Lecture/Talk 28.09.2016 to 02.10.2016 ZKM_Media Theater The festival’s theme of »Future Design Thinking« is mainly reflected in the symposium. As a result, it fits into the series of symposiums of past events, which established the main title »Future Design« and pursued the aim of exhibiting and developing perspectives for the future together. The addition of »Future Design Thinking« now introduces the aspect of thinking, which facilitates an idea of the future, free from restrictions, physical or social parameters. Experts from various specialist fields are eagerly awaited, who will think ahead to the future together.
