Introduce a re-mixing of cassette, originally published online in November 2022. Address potential copyright issues by removing or reducing background music (e.g., "Carry Out Feelings" by Nazareth and "Ode to Billie Joe" by Bobbie Gentry).Discusses recent violent incident in Washington, D.C., where two Israeli embassy workers were killed, advocating for harsher punishments for violent acts. Also mention a tax reform bill, expressing concern over a possible broken promise regarding no tax on Social Security. Not typically an NBA fan, enjoyed a Knicks vs. Pacers game but criticizes the NBA for becoming political, specifically calling out LeBron James.Newly written poem titled "Breacher Leacher," which is abstract and cryptic, touching on themes of deception and decay.1976 cassette features family members, including Helen May Wright "MawMaw" Adolph, Wendy Fitzgerald, and cousins Steve, Craig, Mike, John Dirk, and Kyle, with MawMaw talking prominently.Cassette captures a lively, chaotic conversation among cousins and aunts, in rural Boothville. The dialogue is informal, filled with interruptions, and reflects childhood antics and family dynamics.Kids talk about starting swimming lessons and playing games like volleyball and kickball at a recreation program. They describe beating one team and losing to another.Kids recount mowing grass, playing with frogs (including trying to run them over with a tractor), and grocery shopping mishaps, like Michael dropping a pickle jar and Stevie stealing jawbreakers.Mention using a CB radio, pretending to be characters like Steve Austin (from "The Six Million Dollar Man"), and engaging in imaginative play, such as frog hunting and pirogue (small boat) adventures in a river.Kids talk about staying at MawMaw's house, Craig's antics, and conflicts with parents. They also mention a baseball game and hopes of hitting home runs.Conversation is filled with playful teasing, complaints about smells (e.g., stink bugs, flatulence), and exaggerated stories, like a frog surviving a tractor blade or a ship in the river. The 1976 cassette captures the carefree, mischievous spirit of childhood in the mid-1970s, with vivid descriptions of rural life, family bonds, and playful banter.Attempt to blend modern opinions with nostalgia for the past.

With accounts from all over the world, questions continue to be asked about his origin – is he supernatural? Interdimensional? Just our imagination? Demonic… or extraterrestrial? What is the Hat Man – and what are his motives? (The Night Terror That is The Hat Man) *** He was a charismatic activist and local celebrity who counted the elite of Philadelphia among his friends. But behind closed doors, Ira Einhorn's relationship with his girlfriend Holly Maddux was fraught with abuse, control, and ultimately, murder. The shocking discovery of Holly's body in a trunk in Einhorn's apartment was only the beginning of the hunt for the man they'd eventually call “The Unicorn Killer.” (Holly Maddux And The Unicorn Killer) *** On May 1, 1897, Louisa Luetgert, the wife of a prominent Chicago sausage-maker, mysteriously vanished. (The Sausage Maker And His Wife) *** Centuries of worship and tragedy have left behind more than just memories in some churches… they've also left behind spirits, some holy… some not. From ghostly priests and weeping brides to mysterious mists and phantom lights, there are hauntings that linger in these ancient sanctuaries. What eerie tales are hidden within the walls of the world's oldest… and most haunted… churches? (Attending Church Eternally As A Ghost) *** In June 2006, Gilbert Gilman vanished without a trace during a short walk in Olympic National Park. Full Text of ReadingsTuesday of the Second Week of Advent Lectionary: 182The Saint of the day is Blessed Adolph KolpingBlessed Adolph Kolping's Story The rise of the factory system in 19th-century Germany brought many single men into cities where they faced new challenges to their faith. Father Adolph Kolping began a ministry to them, hoping that they would not be lost to the Catholic faith, as was happening to workers elsewhere in industrialized Europe. Born in the village of Kerpen, Adolph became a shoemaker at an early age because of his family's economic situation. Ordained in 1845, he ministered to young workers in Cologne, establishing a choir, which by 1849 had grown into the Young Workmen's Society. A branch of this began in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1856. Nine years later there were over 400 Gesellenvereine—workman's societies—around the world. Today this group has over 450,000 members in 54 countries across the globe. More commonly called the Kolping Society, it emphasizes the sanctification of family life and the dignity of labor. Father Kolping worked to improve conditions for workers and greatly assisted those in need. He and St. John Bosco in Turin had similar interests in working with young men in big cities. He told his followers, “The needs of the times will teach you what to do.” Father Kolping once said, “The first thing that a person finds in life and the last to which he holds out his hand, and the most precious that he possesses, even if he does not realize it, is family life.” Blessed Adolph Kolping and Blessed John Duns Scotus are buried in Cologne's Minoritenkirche, originally served by the Conventual Franciscans. The Kolping Society's international headquarters are located across from this church. Kolping members journeyed to Rome from Europe, America, Africa, Asia, and Oceania, for Father Kolping's beatification in 1991, the 100th anniversary of Pope Leo XIII's revolutionary encyclical “Rerum Novarum”—“On the Social Order.” Father Kolping's personal witness and apostolate helped prepare for that encyclical. His liturgical feast is celebrated on December 4. Reflection Some people thought that Father Kolping was wasting his time and talents on young working men in industrialized cities. In some countries, the Catholic Church was seen by many workers as the ally of owners and the enemy of workers. Men like Adolph Kolping showed that was not true. Drawing inspiration from classic old-time radio shows like The Mysterious Traveller and The Whistler, CBSRMT was hosted by E. G. Marshall, who introduced each episode with an inviting yet eerie, "Come in!… Welcome." The series' signature began and ended with the sound of a creaking door and eerie music, a hallmark that echoed Brown's earlier show Inner Sanctum Mysteries. Each episode, about 45 minutes long, mixed genres beyond mystery, including horror, science fiction, historical drama, and even comedy. Popular around Halloween and Christmas, the series would also air special adaptations like A Christmas Carol every year, except for 1974 and 1982. CBSRMT featured original stories as well as adaptations of literary works by famous writers such as Edgar Allan Poe, Charles Dickens, and Arthur Conan Doyle. E. G. Marshall hosted the series until 1982, when actress Tammy Grimes took over for the final season. The show was known for its chilling theme music, which included elements from the Twilight Zone score by Nathan Van Cleave. With over 1,399 original episodes, the show ran five nights a week, with a mix of new content and repeats. Despite its popularity, some critics, like radio historian John Dunning, pointed out weaknesses in its scriptwriting. CBSRMT attracted an impressive roster of talent, from radio veterans like Joan Banks and Jackson Beck to well-known actors such as John Lithgow, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Agnes Moorehead. The series became an entry point for younger listeners into the world of radio drama, as well as a nostalgic callback for those familiar with the Golden Age of Radio. The show was recorded in New York at the CBS Studio Building, and its production process was quick and efficient, with actors often completing their roles in just a few hours. In the early 2000s, CBSRMT saw a revival through NPR, bringing the series to a new generation of listeners. Despite its end in 1982, CBSRMT remains a cherished piece of radio history, known for its suspenseful storytelling and atmospheric production.

Applebaum and Snyder argue that Trump's fascism is beyond dispute; his use of language echoing Stalin, Mussolini, and other dictators is no accident; and his repeated expressions of admiration for Adolph Hitler is unsurprising given the degree to which his policy proposals, approach to politics, and yen for personal loyalty from the military resembled the Fuhrer's. We discuss how observing babies at different stages of development illuminates how movement and cognition develop in humans, how variability and embodiment are key to that development, and the importance of studying behavior in real-world settings as opposed to restricted laboratory settings. We also explore how these principles and simulations can inspire advances in intelligent robots. Welcome to Busy Kids Love Music, the podcast for busy families and kids who love music and want to learn more about their favorite composers, instruments, and styles of music. I'm your host, Carly Seifert, the creator of Busy Kids Do Piano, and today we are kicking off a special 3-part series on the life and music of the great composer, Gustav Holst. In this first episode, we'll explore Holst's family life, his early interest in music, his musical training, and some of the unique characteristics that make his compositions stand out. Episode Highlights: - Early Life and Family Background: Gustav Holst was born on September 21, 1874, in Cheltenham, England, into a musical family. His father, Adolph von Holst, was a professional musician, and his mother, Clara, was a singer and pianist. Sadly, Clara passed away when Gustav was just eight years old. - Musical Training: Holst received his first piano lessons from his father and also learned to play the violin and trombone. Despite health issues such as severe asthma, neuritis, and eyesight problems, Holst's passion for music never waned. He began composing at the age of twelve. - Royal College of Music: Holst faced initial rejection but eventually gained admission to the Royal College of Music in London in 1893. There, he studied composition with Sir Charles Villiers Stanford and formed a lifelong friendship with fellow composer Ralph Vaughan Williams. - Family Life: In 1901, Holst married Isobel Harrison, a soprano and former student. They had a daughter, Imogen Holst, who became a respected composer, conductor, and musicologist. The Holst family was close-knit, providing Gustav with inspiration and support. - Musical Influences and Style: Holst incorporated various influences into his compositions, including English folk music and Indian music. His innovative harmonies and complex rhythms gave his music a distinctive sound. He was also interested in astrology, which inspired his famous suite, "The Planets." I hope you enjoy learning about the life of Gustav Holst. In our next episode, we'll dive deeper into some of his most famous works, including "The Planets." Be sure to tune in and discover the magic of Holst's music. Musical Samples You'll Hear in this Episode: Holst St. Paul's Suite Gustav Holst - Two Pieces for Piano, H. 179 (1930-32) Holst - Savitri Gustav Holst - Mars Playlist for Episode 130 I've curated a playlist on YouTube of the pieces you heard in today's episode as well as additional famous works by Gustav Holst. IN THIS EPISODE: Unlike most shadow people figures, the Hat Man - this tall, dark being often appears during times of emotional turmoil. The last sighting of her was with her husband, Adolph, as they walked into his sausage factory. This chilling disappearance not only shocked the city but also caused a notable decline in sausage sales that summer. Gee, I wonder why. Despite an extensive search and numerous theories, no evidence of his fate has ever been found. Was he a victim of foul play, or did he choose to disappear? Adolph I is sharing based on the reading in the Big Book on page p28 about why we drink, he is a member of the  Chapter IX Group in Buffalo New York. This meeting was held at the Depth and Weight Speaker Group in Buffalo New York in August of 2023. I just added an event that is happening very soon (9-11th) in Texas, The Texas Al-Anon Alateen Conference details here: https://scast.us/texalateen Update on the discussion survey from the last week, I was surprised by how many people responded (thank you for doing that) the vast majority were in favor of it, so I am going to move forward with it. It will be a private forum, that was in the lead by quite a bit followed by discord then a facebook group and all the rest after that. Dr. Adolph Brown III is a servant-leader at heart, a life-long mental health & safe spaces advocate, a renowned parent/family television host, career teacher educator, top business motivational speaker, marque entrepreneurial business keynote speaker, virtual presenter, and peak performance coach. He is highly regarded as the “balcony” human leadership advisor, and highly skilled peak performance coach who gets you from where you are to where you want to be while having the most fun ever.  In this episode, Larry Hagner and Dr. Adolph Brown III discusses their love for the "Back to the Future" movies and the iconic characters they are named after. They also talk about the various jokes and references people make about their names, such as references to famous boxers. The conversation then shifts to Doc Brown's large family, consisting of eight children. Doc Brown shares that having a larger family has its benefits, with the children taking care of each other and the household being surprisingly orderly. Large families have their benefits. While some may view having a large family as chaotic and overwhelming, Brown highlights the love and support that exists within his family unit. One of the benefits of having a large family is the unlimited love that each family member has for each other. Brown emphasizes that despite having eight children, he and his wife have an abundance of love for each of them. Additionally, the children themselves have unlimited love for each other. This creates a strong bond and support system within the family, where everyone takes care of and looks out for one another. Another benefit is the sense of order and organization that can be found in large families. Contrary to what some may expect, Brown mentions that his home is not chaotic, but rather orderly. The children play together in groups and move from room to room together. They even take responsibility for checking on any accidents or mishaps that occur in the house, reassuring their parents that everything is fine. This sense of collective responsibility and teamwork contributes to a harmonious household. It is important to note that the benefits of having a large family may not be immediately apparent to those who come from smaller families or have not experienced it themselves. www.thedadedge.com/friday133 www.thedadedge.com/bark www.docspeaks.com www.instagram.com/adolphbrown
