Become., the team sits down with renowned mountaineer, adventurer, and latest keynote speaker, Jeff Evans live from the 2026 Pennant Group Leadership Summit.Jeff reflects on why Pennant's culture stood out to him as a rare “outlier” in corporate leadership, praising the organization's cluster model and peer-to-peer accountability approach as something deeply unique and powerful. Together, the group unpacks how great leaders create environments where people feel trusted, challenged, and empowered to grow.Drawing from years of guiding climbers through some of the world's most dangerous mountains, Jeff shares profound leadership lessons on trust, peer accountability, resilience, humility, and what it truly means to climb together. Through stories from Everest, Denali, and high-stakes expeditions, the conversation explores how the strongest teams are built—not through hierarchy or ego—but through shared ownership, preparation, compassion, and commitment to one another.

Two Jewish men were stabbed in Golders Green in north London yesterday, in an incident police are treating as a terrorist incident. The attack took place in an area with a large Jewish population and comes amid a wider rise in antisemitic incidents across the UK. The government's independent adviser on terrorism legislation, Jonathan Hall KC, has said attacks targeting Jewish people now represent "the biggest national security emergency" in almost a decade. To talk more about the impact on families, children and communities we are joined by Debbie Fox, the chief executive of the Jewish Leadership Council, which represents the largest Jewish organisations in the UK.The NHS says there are around 6,000 children born each year in the UK with genetic conditions so rare they remain undiagnosed and unnamed. This group of children, known as SWAN children, Syndromes Without A Name, have complex medical needs. Ten years ago Roald Dahl's Marvellous Children's Charity funded the world's first nurse specialising in this area at Great Ormond Street. They have now secured a second post. We hear from SWAN nurses Anna Jewitt and Lucy Michaels along with Tali Drumgoon, the mother of Roscoe who is undiagnosed and who's under the care of the SWAN nurses at Great Ormond Street Hospital. On this week's episode of That Peter Crouch Podcast, Pete, Sids and Chris are joined by a former teammate - with spells at Arsenal, Liverpool, Stoke and Portsmouth (as well as being a long-time friend of the pod!) winger Jermaine Pennant for one of the most honest and equally hilarious conversations the pod has ever had.Jermaine opens up about being labelled “wasted talent”, growing up with zero structure, and how a late ADHD diagnosis finally helped him understand the chaos, impulsive decisions and moments that defined his career. From becoming a £2m teenager at Arsenal to playing in a Champions League final with Liverpool, Pennant reflects on the highs, the lows, and the managers who either got the best out of him — or completely missed the mark. The lads also dig into dressing-room dynamics, the importance of man-management, why Steve Bruce got it right, why Rafa Benítez didn't, and how football ultimately became Jermaine's escape from childhood trauma. There are laugh-out-loud stories (including one unforgettable pair of Liverpool boots), emotional moments, and a powerful reminder that success isn't always as simple as trophies and appearances.Plus, we've got darts chaos, Christmas plans, league twists and classic Crouchy tangents. As always — get involved in the comments.
"The Giants win the pennant!" is the most famous call in sports history. For 50 years, the 1951 National League pennant race was celebrated as the ultimate miracle—a 13.5-game comeback that shouldn't have been possible. But it wasn't just a miracle. It may have been a heist. In this episode, we break down the elaborate, high-tech cheating scheme the New York Giants ran out of the center-field clubhouse at the Polo Grounds. We're talking telescopes, hidden wires, and a buzzer system installed by an electrician who—in a cruel twist of irony—was a die-hard Brooklyn Dodgers fan.We dive into:The Scheme: How the "Polo Grounds Plot" actually worked. The Stats: Did the buzzer actually help them hit? (The answer will surprise you). The Confessions: Why the players weren't sorry, but proud of their "treachery."Was Bobby Thomson's "Shot Heard 'Round the World" tainted? Let's dig into the details.

What a weekend for baseball. We went live Sunday night for Episode 111 to unpack a remarkable few days, from Shohei Ohtani's historic performance in Los Angeles to Toronto's season-saving win and a major development in San Francisco. On Friday, Ohtani delivered one of the most complete postseason performances in recent memory. He hit three home runs, struck out ten, and threw six shutout innings as the Dodgers swept the Brewers to clinch another National League pennant. Los Angeles continues to set the standard for sustained excellence, blending star power and player development in a way that few teams can match. It also raised one of the biggest questions we tackled on the show: are the Dodgers good for baseball, or are they proof of how wide the gap has grown between organizations that invest in winning and those that do not? By Sunday, the spotlight shifted to Toronto, where the Blue Jays refused to let their season end. In front of a roaring Rogers Centre crowd, they defeated the Mariners 6–2 to force a Game 7. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. continued his outstanding postseason with his sixth home run, tying José Bautista and Joe Carter for the most in franchise playoff history. Rookie Trey Yesavage rose to the occasion with seven strikeouts in just under six innings, while Toronto's defense turned three double plays, including two with the bases loaded. The Blue Jays played crisp, confident baseball, taking advantage of Seattle's mistakes and controlling the game from start to finish. Meanwhile, out west, reports surfaced that Tennessee head coach Tony Vitello is finalizing a deal to become the next manager of the San Francisco Giants. If confirmed, it would make him the first college coach to step directly into a major league managerial position. It is a forward-thinking move from Buster Posey's front office, emphasizing leadership, communication, and culture over traditional experience. From Ohtani's brilliance and the Dodgers' continued dominance to Toronto's resilience and San Francisco's bold step into the future, this weekend captured everything that makes October baseball special.

Entering the final stretch of the season with teams hoping to claim a playoff spot, the hype surrounding the start of the postseason has heightened, followed by tight races between teams all across the league. Setting a franchise record having made 8 consecutive playoff appearances, followed by 7 consecutive ALCS appearances, the Astros look to be on the brink of possibly being put out of playoff contention following the AL West's tight division race this year. Losing back-to-back series and still unable to score runs with runners in scoring position during this crucial time of the season, Dana weighs in on the Astros' recent struggles and hopes of pulling it together to win the pennant race.

The baseball podcast is back with David Brown and we take a look around the league to see what races have been run and there's really anything left to decide. Are the Dodgers more or less vulnerable the longer they go through the playoffs? Why are the Brewers not a real rival, and will they ever be one? Can anybody in the American League realistically win the World Series. Would radical realignment make things better, or would we all just get even more tired of Cubs-White Sox matchups? All that, and more.
