Rob Reiner was 78 years old. His wife Michele was 68. And on the last night of their lives, they brought their 32-year-old son Nick to a Christmas party at Conan O'Brien's house because they needed to "keep an eye on him." That's not parenting. That's surveillance. That's what the mental health system in America leaves families with when their adult children are in crisis — no legal authority, no institutional support, no options. Just proximity. Just hoping your presence is enough to keep things from going sideways. It wasn't. Less than 24 hours later, Rob and Michele were dead. Throats slit. Found by their daughter in a home decorated for Christmas. Nick Reiner had been struggling since he was a teenager. First rehab at 15. Seventeen treatment programs by age 19. Homeless in three different states. His parents threw everything they had at the problem — money, connections, access to the best programs in the country. Michele told friends in recent months: "We've tried everything." They had. For 17 years. And the system gave them nothing in return. In America, if your adult child is mentally ill, addicted, or dangerous, your options are essentially zero. You can beg them to get help. You can pay for treatment. But unless they meet a narrow legal threshold — "imminent danger to self or others" — you cannot force them to accept care. Their autonomy is protected. Your safety is not. The Reiners lived this nightmare for nearly two decades. They followed the protocols. They trusted the experts. They did everything right by the system's standards. And the system still failed them — because it's designed to manage liability, not treat illness. This video is a deep dive into how America's mental health laws turn families into hostages. How the deinstitutionalization movement of the 1960s emptied psychiatric hospitals without replacing them with anything better. How jails became our largest mental health facilities. And how families like the Reiners are left to manage impossible situations with no training, no authority, and no way out. The Reiners had every advantage. It didn't save them. Until we reform a system that prioritizes philosophy over outcomes, it won't save anyone else either. #RobReiner #MentalHealthCrisis #MentalHealthReform #TrueCrime #MicheleSingerReiner #NickReiner #Addiction #MentalIllness #FamiliesInCrisis #Deinstitutionalization #5150 #HostageFamilies #SystemFailure #MentalHealthAwareness Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? Oasis were the biggest band on the planet for a moment. They famously warred with Britpop rivals Blur, and the Brothers Gallagher feuded with each other in public and came to blows numerous times behind closed doors. The success of their massively popular second album skyrocketed the band to international fame and brought unwanted, intense pressure from the British tabloids, causing frontman Liam Gallagher to slide into a drunken stupor that would threaten to break up the band and distract Noel Gallagher from doing what he did best: write songs. All of the dysfunction, humor, hedonism and hooliganism that is Oasis comes to a head in this, the second part of the Oasis saga. This episode was originally published on April 13, 2021. Send us a textFrom Deities to Deep Throats: A Stellar Ride with Mina BrowerGods who beg. Dreams that fuck. Grief, guilt, and galaxy-sized smut.In this unholy episode, debut indie baddie Mina Brower takes us on a wild ride through A God of Moonlight and Stardust, her slow-burn, soul-punching romantasy where a haunted heroine is torn between two powerful men: one who mourns her, one who dreams of her, and both who want to ruin her in ways that are… spiritually devastating. We go deep (in every sense) on writing trauma with tenderness, slipping spice into celestial settings, and the anatomy of a good "squelch" scene. Plus, Mina spills the behind-the-scenes filth—including dream threesomes, villain worship, clit-sucking commentary, and why the word “grind” should win a Pulitzer.Featuring a “Sip & Strip” segment that had us sweating and a quote so filthy it nearly broke the transcript.Spoiler-free. Spiritually feral. Galactic thirst turned all the way up. You're not ready—but press play anyway.GRAB YOUR COPY OF: A God of Moonlight and Stardust!✨ Follow Mina: @minabrowerauthor

Between 1911 and 1912, more than a dozen women were murdered on the streets of Atlanta. All were young, all were Black, and all were killed in a disturbingly similar fashion. Throats slashed, bodies left close to home, personal items untouched. At the time, police claimed they had no leads. Locals whispered of a serial killer - a theory the authorities were reluctant to accept. As panic grew, women changed their routines, and Black newspapers urged the public to stay alert. But the murders continued. This is the story of the man the press called The Atlanta Ripper - and the women whose lives were lost in a case that remains officially unsolved.Don't miss an episode—follow, comment, like, and share!Connect with us on social media @themondaynightrevue or email at themondaynightrevue@gmail.com.Explore our podcast merch: Shop HereSupport the show: Buy Me a CoffeeDiscover curated reads: BookshopFor ad-free episodes, minisodes, and exclusive perks, join us on Patreon: Support on PatreonWritten and edited by Corinna Harrod with Holly Clarke. Holly Randall sits down with Ryan Reid, who went from styling hair to stealing the spotlight on screen. They dive into the unexpected, hilarious, and sometimes downright bizarre realities of the adult industry. Ryan spills on meeting her boyfriend in the most porn-star way possible (a threesome, of course), why dating with a fully developed brain just hits different, and the secret to making your hair extensions look expensive. She also breaks down the fine line between OnlyFans and mainstream porn, the weirdest assumptions people make about sex workers, and how a premium Snapchat side hustle (plus one wild party in LA) took her from hairstylist to hardcore star. It's unfiltered. It's hilarious. And no, it's definitely not safe for work. But let's be real, you weren't working anyway. Friends of the Rosary, Today, February 3rd, the Catholic Church honors two saints: Blaise and Ansgar. The fourth-century saint Blaise (or Blase) was a physician and Bishop of Sebaste in Armenia. He is widely venerated due to many cures attributed to him, especially illnesses of the throat, and notably that of a child who was suffocating through a fishbone. Blaise, who also had a reputation for curing sick and wounded animals, was martyred about the year 320. St. Blaise is included in the list of Fourteen Holy Helpers. On this day, in honor of St. Blaise, the Church gives the faithful a "Blessing of the Throats" with two candles tied together with a red ribbon to form a cross. The priest or deacon places the candles around the throat of whoever seeks the blessing, using the formula: "Through the intercession of St. Blaise, bishop, and martyr, may God deliver you free from every disease of the throat and from every other disease. In the name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen." Ave Maria!Jesus, I Trust In You!Come, Holy Spirit, come!To Jesus through Mary! + Mikel Amigot | RosaryNetwork.com, New York • Enhance your faith with the new Holy Rosary University app:Apple iOS | New! It's Wednesday, November 27th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Muslims slit throats of Christians in Mozambique, Africa Barnabas Aid reports that fighters from the terrorist group called “ISIS Mozambique” killed four Christians in northern Mozambique this month. In one incident, Muslim militants slit the throats of Christians they described as “infidel Christians.” They killed another Christian in a machine gun attack. Militants began an insurgency in the southern African country in 2017, killing thousands of people since then. Mozambique is ranked 39th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it most dangerous to be a Christian. Christians oppose Britain's End-of-Life Bill Christian leaders sent a letter to the United Kingdom parliament, opposing a proposed End of Life Bill. The measure would allow terminally ill adults to seek assistance in ending their own lives. The bill moves forward with a second reading on Friday. The recent letter warned, “This bill, in our view, undermines the value of life and lacks the safeguards needed to protect those most at risk from being coerced into premature death.” Trump threatens tariffs on Canada, Mexico, & China until illegals & drugs stop In the United States, President-elect Donald Trump announced his plans for tariffs on Monday. The plan affects America's primary trading partners—Canada, Mexico, and China. At the start of his second term, Trump said Canada and Mexico will face a 25% tariff until they curb the flow of migrants and drugs across the border. Trump also announced a 10% tariff on Chinese goods, in addition to any other tariffs on the country, until it deals with fentanyl smuggling. Trump picks Scott Turner for Sec. Housing and Urban Development Last Friday, President-elect Trump nominated Scott Turner to lead the Department of Housing and Urban Development. Turner played football in the NFL before serving in the Texas House of Representatives. He worked in the first Trump administration, and is an associate pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano, Texas. Turner responded to the nomination on X. He wrote, “Thank you, Mr. President. I am thrilled to continue the outstanding work we began in your last administration at HUD with an incredible team. … I would also like to express the sincerest of gratitude to my mentor, Secretary Ben Carson. … We have an important mission ahead. To God be the glory. Let's get to work!” Target fired Christian who wrote “Trust in Jesus” on Target nametag KVLY-TV reports that Target has apologized for firing an employee over Christian messaging on her name tag. Denise Kendrick worked for a Target store in Fargo, North Dakota. She said she was fired earlier this month for writing “trust in Jesus” on her Target nametag. A manager told her that she couldn't wear the nametag. Kendrick replied, “Well, I've seen people with rainbows on theirs. I'm going to continue to wear this nametag,” And then they said, “Well, you can't work here anymore.” After the incident, a Target spokesman said, “Upon learning of the situation, we conducted a review and determined that the team member should not have been terminated. We apologized to her and offered to reinstate her immediately.” In Matthew 10:32, Jesus said, “So everyone who acknowledges Me before men, I also will acknowledge before My Father who is in Heaven.” Walmart rolls back Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion policies On Monday, Walmart announced it is rolling back its diversity, equity, and inclusion policies. It's the latest large company to do so. The world's largest retailer will no longer participate in the Human Rights Campaign, the largest lobbying group for sexually perverted lifestyles in the U.S. Robby Starbuck is a conservative activist who has been calling out companies for their diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives. After talking with Walmart, he wrote on X, “This is the biggest win yet for our movement to end wokeness in corporate America.” World's oldest man died And finally, the world's oldest man died in England on Monday. He was 112 years old. John Alfred Tinniswood was born on August 26, 1912, just months after the Titanic sank. He lived through both world wars and served in the British Army Pay Corps during World War II. Tinniswood's family said he was active in retirement. He volunteered as an elder in this local church where he gave sermons. He said moderation was important to a healthy life. Tinniswood is survived by his daughter, Susan, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Proverbs 3:1-3 says, “My son, do not forget My law, but let your heart keep My commands; for length of days and long life and peace they will add to you. Let not mercy and truth forsake you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, November 27th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Today on the Holistic Dentistry Show, Dr. Sanda speaks to Shirley Gutkowski, a dental hygienist passionate about myofunctional therapy, about sleep apnea, the power of the tongue, and how airway improvements can change your life. Throats aren't just throats anymore—they're airways! For those with headaches, TMJ pain, shoulder or neck aches, working with a myofunctional therapist may be the road to less pain. Shirley speaks to the importance of collaboration between dentists and myofunctional therapists, pointing out that most people in dentistry and speech pathology know very little about the airway! Improving the airway can significantly improve sleep apnea and other overlooked conditions that can be fatal. She discusses each step of the Primal Air intake process and how to know if it may be time to reach out. The prevalence of misinformation about diet and lifestyle has caused the modern face to shrink, and our airways are paying for it! This is not an episode to be missed. Hey Friends & Kin! FYI: THIS, JUST LIKE ALL EPISODES OF HAND ME MY PURSE, CONTAINS PROFANITY. THIS PODCAST IS FOR ADULTS AND CONTAINS ADULT CONTENT. Now that we've gotten that out of the way..._________ Friends and Kin this episode is a one of a kind experience to get a glance into conversations that my producers & I have on a regular basis. It's a glimpse into the world of RANDO BANJO + THE DIRTY THROATS. That would be myself, my Executive Producer - Taylor & my Producer - Evan. This conversation was so much fun and so… AUTHENTICALLY UNCONFINED!!! That's how I prefer my conversations actually - very authentic & very unconfined. We talked about so many interesting things from understanding the identities in the LGBTQ+ community, Kendrick vs. Drake, taking accountability in our current society and so much MORE! We even sing an impromptu song - that I have to say was absolutely PHENOMENAL! I LOVE THESE GUYS & THE DYNAMIC OF OUR RELATIONSHIP IS EXTREMELY GENUINE. So sit back and listen to us discussing so many hot topics all while having a good ol' time! I opened the show with this quote & wanted to share it again, so that it could be seen with your eyes… “Bless the daughters who sat carrying the trauma of mothers. Who sat asking for more love and not getting any, yet carried themselves to light. Bless the daughters who raised themselves….” - @soulfulvibesco on Instagram GO GRAB YOURSELF SOMETHING TO SIP ON & ENJOY THE SHOW… "GO WHERE YOU ARE ADORED. NOT WHERE YOU ARE TOLERATED..."
