Rosa and Joku review and analyze 2024's 'Red One', a christmas action comedy starring Chris Evans, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, and J.K. Simmons, directed by Jake Kasdan. They also review and discuss 'The New Norm' Episode 2: "electile dysfunction" as well as Lars Von Trier's 'Idioterne' or 'The Idiots' (Dogme number 2), a 1998 Danish film directed by Lars von Trier that explores a group of adults who pretend to be mentally disabled as a form of social provocation. The film is notable for its adherence to the Dogme 95 manifesto and has sparked significant debate regarding its themes and portrayal of disability.Support us on Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/CumpostingPodcastOur Podcast Artist is the incredibly talented Vero (she/they) of Praxisstvdio who you should check out here: https://linktr.ee/praxisstvdioTwitch: http://www.twitch.tv/cmpostingThe Cumposting Power Ranking: https://letterboxd.com/cumposting/list/cumposting-all-movies-watched-ranked/Donate: https://throne.com/cumpostingSend Us a Voice Message: https://www.speakpipe.com/cumpostingReddit (Cringe): https://www.reddit.com/r/cumpostingpod/Follow Rosa: https://x.com/tradslvtFollow Joku: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC6MqDAGSrKEVBzHtgBBbT0wOutro guitar solo performed by Django Klumpp (@djangoklumppguitar)Image of the Week: https://imgur.com/a/XpEka2gChapters:0:00 Intro, Demon Dice, & The Mimic Song8:34 'Red One' (2024) Review & Analysis32:18 Rating and Scoring 'Red One'34:00 'The New Norm' Episode 2 Discussion38:54 'Idioterne' (1998) Review & Analysis57:01 Rating and Scoring 'Idioterne'58:00 Holiday Plans58:18 Q&A1:01:02 Next Week's Films/ OutroTags:Red One Release Date, red one trailer, red one rotten tomatoes, red one box office, red one where to watch, red one cast, red one movie, red one reviews, red one videos, red one imdb, red one cast and crew, red one news, red one movie cast, red one trailer official, red one prime video, idioterne trailer, idioterne film, idioterne imdb, lars von trier idioterne, lars von trier movies, lars von trier best movies, movie podcast, movie review podcast, leftist podcast, marxist podcast, communist podcast, socialist podcast, progressive podcast, film podcast, film review podcast, demon dice, snake eyes, mimic song fnaf, big joel new norm, little joel new norm, new norm episode 2, the idiots 1998, the idiots movie, the idiots film, the idiots review, the idiots trailer, leftist film review, leftist movie review, communist film review, communist movie review, socialist movie review, socialist film review, woke movies, woke film, queer film review, queer movie review

Robert Winfree and Mark Radulich present their Red One 2024 Movie Review!Red One is a 2024 American action-adventure Christmas fantasy comedy film directed by Jake Kasdan and written by Chris Morgan, from an original story by Hiram Garcia. The film follows the head of North Pole security (Dwayne Johnson) teaming up with a notorious hacker (Chris Evans) in order to locate a kidnapped Santa Claus (J. K. Simmons) on Christmas Eve; Lucy Liu, Kiernan Shipka, Bonnie Hunt, Nick Kroll, Kristofer Hivju, and Wesley Kimmel also star. The film is seen as the first of a Christmas-themed franchise, produced by Amazon MGM Studios in association with Seven Bucks Productions, Chris Morgan Productions, and The Detective Agency.Red One was released internationally by Warner Bros. Pictures on November 6 and was released in the United States by Amazon MGM Studios through Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer on November 15, 2024. The film received generally negative reviews from critics.Filming began in October 2022 in Atlanta and wrapped in February 2023. Filming ran into issues with Johnson, who was an average of seven to eight hours late to film his scenes and missed several days of shooting. These delays reportedly increased the budget by $50 million to a total of $250 million, which Garcia disputed. Johnson later admitted to frequent tardiness as well as urinating in bottles on set, but Evans and Kasdan defended him.Disclaimer: The following may contain offensive language, adult humor, and/or content that some viewers may find offensive – The views and opinions expressed by any one speaker does not explicitly or necessarily reflect or represent those of Mark Radulich or W2M Network.Mark Radulich and his wacky podcast on all the things:https://linktr.ee/markkind76alsohttps://www.teepublic.com/user/radulich-in-broadcasting-networkFB Messenger: Mark Radulich LCSWTiktok: @markradulichtwitter: @MarkRadulichInstagram: markkind76RIBN Album Playlist: https://suno.com/playlist/91d704c9-d1ea-45a0-9ffe-5069497bad59

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universes. Last week, mere minutes after our Tuesday evening recording session, we were both delighted and disheartened when Marvel Studios dropped its “Look Ahead | Disney Plus'' trailer, which not only provided release dates, but showcased our first official look at footage, for a whopping 8 streaming projects. Here's what we learned: Box office juggernaut Deadpool & Wolverine will be available to stream on the platform beginning November 12, 2024. We already knew Daredevil: Born Again is set to begin streaming March 4, 2025, but the trailer, which was intercut with footage from the other shows, gave us our first look at the villain Muse, the return of Jon Bernthal's Punisher, as well as Bullseye, and perhaps most surprisingly the inclusion of Ms. Marvel's dad, Yusuf Khan What If Season 3 will begin streaming this December 22nd, with no word as to whether that will be a weekly or daily release, like last year. Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man will begin airing January 29th, 2025 Riri William's Ironheart makes her return beginning June 24th, 2025 Eyes of Wakanda, the animated anthology series is set for an August 6th, 2025 debut Marvel Zombies will premiere sometime in October 2025, with the live action Wonder Man series starring Yahya Abdul Mateen II arriving later that December. In a final marketing push ahead of its December 3 premiere, Lucasfilm released final art, a poster, and a new trailer for Star Wars: Skeleton Crew. The series, which is helmed by Spider-Man filmmaker Jon Watts, is an Amblin Entertainment-inspired coming of age tale that follows four youths who embark on a swashbuckling adventure with unexpected revelations. The trailer is in keeping with what we've seen from the series thus far, which is to say it feels tonally divergent from anything we've seen in Star Wars before, including new species, planets, and a synth-pop heavy score. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros is gearing up to bring the world of George R.R. Martin's Game of Thrones to the silver screen with at least one film in early development. And that's pretty much all we know – there's no creative talent attached yet, meaning no writer or director, much less any word regarding a potential time, setting, or characters that might be involved. Amazon MGM Studios is testing actors for the role of Lara Croft in Phoebe Waller-Bridge's upcoming Tomb Raider series. Sophie Turner and Lucy Boynton top Amazon's wish list, according to Deadline. Scary Movie creators Marlon, Shawn, and Keenen Ivory Wayans are reuniting after 18 years to develop a new film in the franchise for Paramount and Miramax. Kelly Macdonald, known for Boardwalk Empire and No Country for Old Men, has joined the cast of DC Studios' Lanterns. Amazon MGM Studios is developing a Jack Ryan film, continuing the series storyline with John Krasinski, Wendell Pierce, and Michael Kelly. Andrew Bernstein will direct. Early box office projections show Wicked opening at over $80 million domestically and Gladiator 2 at $65 million, both debuting on November 22. Universal Pictures and LEGO have partnered to develop three live-action LEGO films, directed by Jake Kasdan, Patty Jenkins, and Joe Cornish. Toho has officially greenlit a new Godzilla movie from the director of last year's Oscar-winning Godzilla Minus One. Amazon MGM Studios has acquired American Speed, starring Tom Holland and Austin Butler as the scandal-ridden Whittington Brothers, with Oscar-winning producer Charles Roven attached. Ridley Scott revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he's working on a new Alien movie for 20th Century Studios, though it's unclear if it's connected to the Alien: Romulus follow-up or a standalone project. Tom Cruise is in early talks with Paramount for a Days of Thunder sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Hey everyone, welcome back to another review! Today, I'll be reviewing the newly-released Amazon Christmas action-comedy: Red One, starring The Rock and Chris Evans. I was initially pretty excited for this one because I loved the pitch and I'm just someone who loves Christmas... but those trailers, woof. Since then, I've been a little cold towards this film and now having seen it, it's pretty much exactly what you'd expect it to be. That being said, listen on to find out why I think this movie will still be unfairly mocked once more people get to see it! Red One Directed by: Jake Kasdan Screenplay by: Chris Morgan Story by: Hiram Garcia Produced by: Dany Garcia, Hiram Garcia, Dwayne Johnson, Jake Kasdan, Melvin Mar, Chris Morgan Executive Producers: Ainsley Davies, Barry Waldman Music by: Henry Jackman Cinematography by: Dan Mindel Edited by: Steve Edwards, Mark Helfrich, Tara Timpone Casting by: Nicole Abellera, Katie Doyle, Jeanne McCarthy Production Design by: Bill Brzeski Costume Design by: Michael Crow, Laura Jean Shannon Cast: Dwayne Johnson, Chris Evans, Lucy Liu, J.K. Simmons, Kiernan Shipka Synopsis: After Santa Claus (codename: Red One) is kidnapped, the North Pole's Head of Security must team up with the world's most infamous bounty hunter in a globe-trotting, action-packed mission to save Christmas.
Tom Holland appeared on the Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and with a drum roll announced that Spider-Man 4 officially begins shooting next summer. This information is coupled with an announcement from Sony that the release date is July 24, 2026. 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell sat down with The Hollywood Reporter recently to discuss the future of their filmmaking division under Disney. Asbell seemed to Mirror other disney subsidiaries with it's assurance that a focus on franchise films is the path of the future. They will likely continue franchises such as Avatar, the Alien-verse, and Planet of the Apes, plus Kenneth Branagh's Agatha Christie mystery adaptations will continue though it's not clear if Branagh is attached. Among other films discussed were a Master and Commander prequel, Something with Die Hard, the next Predator movie (two are coming out and one is a secret), and the possibility of a Speed 3. Writer Steven Knight has left the Rey Star Wars movie. Knight replaced the original screenwriters just last March, but this looks to be another delay to the development of the film. Notably Knight has been busy, working on the screenplays for the Peaky Blinders feature film, an upcoming biopic starring Angelina Jolie, and several tv series. Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy is still slated to direct the future Rey movie. Venom: The Last Dance stumbled a bit in its choreography during last week's release in the U.S. with a $51 million dollar opening, but danced to success globally for a total $175 million including $46 million in China, which is the best superhero movie opening in that country since 2019. Sony is pleased with these numbers and well they should be, as the movie did take the top spot over Smile 2, which fell 59 percent. Universal's Oscar baby Conclave opened to $6.5 million, which tied it with The Wild Robot's fifth weekend's earnings. And the Andrew Garfield/Florence Pugh romantic drama We Live in Time came in fifth with $4.8 million. While promoting Robert Zemeckis' film Here, Paul Bettany confirmed that production begins on the Vision series in 2025. Chris Hemsworth is in talks to star in Disney's upcoming Prince Charming movie with Paul King attached to direct. AppleTV+ has unveiled a new trailer for Severance season 2. Severance will premiere on the streamer on Jan. 17, 2025, followed by an episode every Friday through March 21 for a 10 episode season. Ahead of its season 6 debut in December, drama series Virgin River has been renewed for a seventh season at Netflix. With the early renewal, Virgin River becomes Netflix's longest-running current original scripted series. An action comedy film adaptation of retro video game Oregon Trail is in early development at Apple. Will Speck and Josh Gordon are attached to direct and produce. In this episode of the show we are wrapping up our August deliberations about Ben Stiller in 1998 with a conversation about Jake Kasdan's Zero Effect. Over the course of our chat you will hear us bicker over whether this movie is a great gem or if it indeed has zero effect on the viewer, whether Jake Kasdan is a glorified nepo-baby and if Bill Pullman is as funny as he seems to be. We also talk about Sherlock Holmes energy this movie goes after, importance of stakes in a noir movie, Soderberghian vibes and more! Tune in and enjoy! Andy Serkis, reprising his role as Alfred in The Batman Part 2, has confirmed that filming for the highly-anticipated sequel is scheduled to commence early next year. Directed by Matt Reeves, known for his dark and gritty vision of Gotham City, the film is slated for release on October 2, 2026. Serkis praised Reeves' script writing prowess and expressed enthusiasm about returning to the role alongside Robert Pattinson's Batman. Amidst his busy schedule, which includes directing and starring in The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt for Gollum, Serkis continues to be a key figure in blockbuster franchises.
We've covered plenty of biopics of musical legends on this podcast, and one word has hovered unspoken in the background: Cox. Dewey Cox, that is, the legendary rocker played by John C Reilly in Jake Kasdan's Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story. A musical innovator, a tortured genius, a tireless advocate for small people's rights... he didn't exist, of course, but this spoof is so beautifully observed it doesn't really matter. Let's duet! This week, Mark Harrison of Film Stories rejoins Graham to look at the film that makes it impossible to watch any other biopic without giggling inappropriately at all the sad parts. We discuss the cameos that were cut, the gruelling promotional tour Reilly embarked on in support of the film, and which of 2024's biopics include scenes from this film played dead straight. It's a beautiful ride, alright. Karen Gillan has confirmed that the fourth installment of Jumanji is still in the works, much to the excitement of fans. Director Jake Kasdan had announced the sequel in March 2020 after the success of Jumanji: The Next Level in 2019. However, due to the actors' unavailability and the 2023 strike, updates on the project have been scarce. The delay is understandable given the circumstances. Dwayne Johnson, busy with Disney's live-action Moana and his superhero debut in DC's Black Adam, will reprise his role as Dr. Xander. The cast also includes Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Cate Blanchett, Jamie Lee Curtis, Ariana Greenblatt, among others, making it challenging to coordinate schedules. Until then, fans can catch up on the previous parts on Prime Video.
Judd Apatow needs little in the way of introduction. He's a filmmaker synonymous with an entire era of American comedy – that mid-'00s explosion of zeitgeist-grabbing movies about incapable men, grappling with the realisation that it's about time they grew up. There's The 40-Year-Old Virgin, which Apatow wrote and directed. There's also the cult classic music biopic satire Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, which he co-wrote with Jake Kasdan. The Cable Guy, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, Superbad, Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Step Brothers, meanwhile, are just some of the projects he's served on as a producer.A remarkable run of movies since the beginning of the 2010s have seen his comic signature evolve into something more tender. Films like Funny People, This Is 40 and The King of Staten Island are all funny, sure – but there's an introspection to his work nowadays that has been fascinating to behold. On this week's episode, Judd revisits one of his best-loved movies: 2007's Knocked Up. But it's not his first draft we delve into. Instead, as a window into his creative process, we uncover emails that the filmmaker sent to himself in the run-up to writing the movie, full of lengthy streams of consciousness about what the comedy could be – and why a stoner played by Seth Rogen having a baby with a high-flying media personality played with poise by Katherine Heigl would be hilarious. Próximo programa: The Muppets Mayhem.

This week on the pod... the wrong kid died! Music Month closes out with one last bio-pic -- the music movie parody that renders all the serious attempts that follow it laughable in how closely they hew to the cartoonish comedy of this brilliant send-up. It's 2007's Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story, directed by Jake Kasdan, co-written by Kasdan and Judd Apatow, and starring John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer and Kristen Wiig. It's the perfect capstone for the first month of the podcast, a movie that Hayley has never seen and Justin has watched countless times. If you'd like to watch along with us, the movie is currently streaming free on the CTV app in Canada. We'll be back next week with the British claymation classic Chicken Run.
Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story was a 2007 musical comedy directed by Jake Kasdan, and produced by Judd Apatow, featuring John C. Reilly in his first ever starring role, along with Jenna Fischer, Tim Meadows, Kristin Wiig, Margo Martindale, Raymond J. Barry, and a slew of cameos. The film was an early parody of the musician biopic, following the trials and tribulations of Dewey Cox, a fictional performer who in universe has served as an unsung inspiration for years and years of rock and roll history. It depicts the life of Cox, his successes and failures, and his (Fictional) interactions with famed real world musicians like Elvis Presley, The Beatles, and others. Though the film was a box office bomb, it received praise from critics, and would go on to become a cult classic. On a new episode of Hell Is A Musical, Lilz and Scott are rejoined by recurring guest Christopher Brown to watch one of Lilz' favorite films of all time for her 35th year on Earth. Join them for a screening of Walk Hard, and frank discussions about Johnny Tsunami, Neil Young impressions, and the grand return of the pod's award-winning, critically acclaimed segment Scott's Stories!...with Lilz & Scott!

ZERO EFFECT takes the Sir Arthur Conan Doyle short story "A Scandal in Bohemia" and updates it in a 1998 comedy slash mystery from Jake Kasdan which Sidey loves and I had never seen before. Bill Pullman is tortured soul Daryl Zero; the world's greatest private investigator and a recluse who will only be represented in public by his long-suffering assistant Arlo (Ben Stiller). Together, Zero and Arlo have solved some of the world's most bewildering criminal cases, including The Case Of The Man With Mismatched Shoelaces and The Case of the Hired Gun Who Made Too Many Mistakes. When wealthy businessman Gregory Stark (Ryan O Neal) hires the duo to find missing keys to a safety deposit box, Zero uncovers a secret involving Gloria Sullivan (Kim Dickens), a paramedic with a mysterious past, whilst also finding himself slowly falling in love with her. Both the Downey Jr. SHERLOCK movies left me cold and beyond KNIVES OUT I would be hard pressed to name anything in this genre that's raised even a semi out of me recently so I'm probably not the best to review this because beyond the excellent opening 40 minutes where we are introduced to Zero and his world, I found the movie to be meandering and sometimes predictable during the actual mystery. A huge lack of chemistry between Pullman and Dickens doesn't help and the ending seems somehow both abrupt and overly long at the same time though Sidey will point to all the stuff that's good about it: the off kilter neo-noir aspects, Bill Pullman's magnetic performance, the pulpy mystery and surprising denouement so if you are a fan of the Sherlock Holmes mythos or the crime mystery genre and haven't seen this, you should absolutely check it out. Jake Kasdan's JUMANJI: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE is the sequel "no one asked for" even with The Rock, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan starring. Then audiences saw it and admitted they probably should have asked for it. In this episode of WRITERS/BLOCKBUSTERS Jamie Nash, Jimmy George and Bob Rose discuss the surprisingly enjoyable, adept comedy script that came from four writers, a long dormant franchise and a conceptual stroke of genius!

Cerise & Vicky hit the road, alienate their loved ones and overcome their personal demons in the course of adding five entries from the most generic genre to the list – musical biopics. Is Baz Luhrmann's Elvis kinda good, actually? Why is Hal Ashby so unfairly forgotten? Does Todd Haynes' Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story live up to its illicit hype? And did Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story prove that this genre is unkillable? Tune in and find out! (Also, apparently an Elton John movie was watched and discussed. There's literal audio evidence that proves this. But we're still skeptical.) 11:05 - Elvis (2022, Baz Luhrmann) 28:17 - Bound For Glory (1976, Hal Ashby) 48:16 - Superstar: The Karen Carpenter Story (1987, Todd Haynes) 1:02:01 - Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story (2007, Jake Kasdan) 1:15:39 - Rocketman (2019, Dexter Fletcher)

Back in August of 2021, we reviewed Shaolin Soccer. Jacob wondered if that movie was a parody of sports movies, Tate and Sage responded with confusion, stating that it obviously wasn't. Jacob decided that it was finally time to pick a parody movie and he went with one of his favorites, Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story starring John C. Reilly, Jenna Fischer, Time Meadows, and Kristen Wiig. Opinions were mixed on this one but they rundown everybody's favorite moments, read some lyrics from the movie (and from Bob Dylan), and much more! This movie was directed by Jake Kasdan. With the success of White Lotus on HBO Max, it seems only fitting we talk about an early career Mike White cult classic, Orange County. For many, it was the launching point for Jack Black, Colin Hanks, and even Jake Kasdan, but for me it's an early 2000's teen comedy that, up until this review, I had never even heard of before. So it's time for us to (re)visit and figure out if the critics wrote this one off too quickly or if this lead up to School of Rock should be left off your radar.
