Dr. Antony Peter Mueller is an Author, German economist, and professor of economics at the Federal University of Sergipe. In this discussion we cover the current state of global economics, the pandemic, and the organisations behind regulations such as Global Economic Forum, World Health Organization, and the United Nations.

Antony Mueller is the founder of The Continental Economics Institute. He is also an adjunct scholar at the Mises Institute and honorary member of Mises, Brazil. He was born in Germany and graduated with a Ph.D., summa cum laude, in Economics from the University of Erlangen–Nuremberg in Germany. Antony is now the Professor of Economics at Federal University of Sergipe in Brazil. He is also the author of Beyond the State and Politics, which is coming out in a new revision and is working on Macro Economics for Business and Finance. Antony mainly discusses his recent article for the Mises Institute called "No Privacy, No Property: The World in 2030 According to the WEF." The aims of this think tank are a threat to basic human liberties and has a heavy top-down economic control policy. Tied to this strategy is the rhetoric of global climate control, which will be used to control food consumption and where you live. In the end, this group, which is gaining footholds of power, would love to see the end of private property, privacy, and the reduction in goods consumption. You will live hand to fist from the graces of the powers that be. Philip Sharp discusses in the essay segment an interesting tidbit from the past during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan during the 80’s. The deployed Soviet personnel sold off government equipment and looked forward to using Afghan bazaars to get goods they could not get back home. Of course, the connection is that the USSR is a prototype for the agenda the World Economic Forum would like to implement.

As imagens dos refugiados tentando entrar na Europa rodaram o mundo despertando paixões variadas na mesma medida em que inviabilizava o debate acerca das origens do problema e da forma mais adequada de tratar o problema. Tanto que chamar a atenção para outros aspectos importantes do assunto acaba por produzir reações tão indignadas quanto equivocadas. Para entender as dimensões do que está sendo chamado de “crise dos refugiados, o Podcast do Instituto Mises Brasil entrevistou o doutor em economia e professor Antony Mueller, que fez uma análise Austríaca sobre o tema sem desconsiderar as consequências da abertura das fronteiras pela Europa, o terrorismo, o dilema da liberdade, a influência do Estado de Bem-estar Social na criação de incentivos para imigração e refúgio e de que maneira o pensamento Austríaco poderia contribuir para a resolução do problema na origem, ou seja, nos locais de onde aquelas pessoas fogem.

No dia 9 de novembro foi celebrado os 25 anos da queda do muro de Berlim, símbolo máximo da guerra fria protagonizada pelos Estados Unidos e pela União Soviética. O muro foi construído em 1961 pelo governo da República Democrática Alemã para impedir que as pessoas circulassem livremente entre a Alemanha comunista, satélite do governo russo, e a República Federal Alemã, democrática e liberal. Para conversar sobre o assunto, o Podcast do Instituto Mises Brasil entrevistou o doutor em economia e professor Antony Mueller, nascido na Alemanha e um dos maiores estudiosos da teoria da Escola Austríaca. Mueller nos concedeu um depoimento valioso de quem morava na Baviera, no sul do país, e tinha 13 anos quando o muro foi construído. Ele contou como foi testemunhar a divisão da Alemanha e as consequências na vida das pessoas. Mueller explicou de que maneira o comunismo implementado numa parte da Alemanha pela União Soviética com a colaboração direta dos socialistas e comunistas alemães, que no passado haviam sobrevivido ao nazismo, criou uma situação dramática não só pela violência da separação, mas pela ruptura psicológica e cultural de uma sociedade que compartilhava a história, características, hábitos, ética do trabalho, visões de mundo. A engenharia social desenvolvida na República Democrática Alemã destruiu a cultura e o passado daqueles habitantes compulsórios, que pagavam com a própria vida quando queriam fugir para o lado Ocidental ou resistir ao governo comunista. Num artigo publicado recentemente pelo site do IMB o professor Antony Mueller explicou sob a perspectiva da Escola Austríaca por qual razão o Brasil não cresce mais e afirmou que uma análise “uma análise mais profunda do desempenho econômico do Brasil” mostra que “o fraco crescimento econômico atual sinaliza um retorno ao padrão antigo, com longas estagnações”. Nesta segunda entrevista ao Podcast do Instituto Mises Brasil (a primeira pode ser ouvida aqui e aqui, Mueller, PhD em economia pela Universidade de Nuremberg, e adjunct scholar do Mises Institute, explica qual é esse padrão e o que governo brasileiro fez para que houvesse esse retorno. Também professor do departamento de economia da Universidade de Sergipe, fundador do The Continental Economics Institute e autor do blog Cash and Currencies, Mueller citou e analisou as políticas macroeconômicas utilizadas pelo governo brasileiro para desenvolver um crescimento artificial e fazer com que o país apresente altas taxas de crescimento econômico, além de mencionar as consequências desse tipo de política econômica. Ao ser perguntado se o governo brasileiro não reconhece por incapacidade ou por interesse político que uma expansão econômica totalmente baseada no consumo, sem investimentos, é uma medida que pode funcionar apenas no curto prazo, o professor Mueller disse polidamente que a equipe econômica parece ter um conhecimento bastante reduzido sobre o assunto. “Para qualquer governo, a mensagem keynesiana é sempre bem-vinda”.
