Ragweed, tree pollen and grass pollen will make for a tough allergy season. Allergy sufferers, get ready for coughs, sneezes and sniffles. According to Accuweather's 2025 allergy forecast, pollen levels are already soaring, with one expert warning about a potential “dual peak” in certain regions. Tree pollen has reportedly already kicked off the season in the southern U.S., and grass pollen and ragweed will only ramp up as we transition into summer. With roughly one in four Americans diagnosed with seasonal allergies, you'll likely have more than a few sniffly neighbors — if you aren't one yourself. Cool early spring...Article Link

HOUR 3 - Seth and Sean discuss the Texans interviewing Grant Udinski and Brian Johnson and if they're a fit for the OC job, impose deadlines on the Astros for bringing back Bregman (or not) and the Texans for hiring a new OC, and assess if this has been a terrible year for championships given the teams that have been involved.
The Las Vegas Raiders have had a tumultuous couple of seasons, marked by staffing turnovers (going through two head coaches AND two general managers in the last two years), a high-profile DUI charge, and oh yeah, quarterback drama. Unsurprisingly, they also had a dismal 4-13 season. What's going on? Could co-owner Tom Brady be the answer, and will the Raiders ever be as beloved as homegrown teams like the Golden Knights and the Aces? Today, co-host Dayvid Figler talks with Heidi Fang, producer at the Review Journal podcast Vegas Nation, who explains how the Raiders got into this mess — and how they might get out of it. Elon Musk's six-year saga defending his $56 billion Tesla Inc. pay package in the Delaware Chancery Court has captivated the state's tight-knit legal community and the wider world of Musk watchers, including his more than 200 million online followers. In January 2024, the court's chief judge struck down the pay package, prompting a months-long social media barrage—and a host of novel legal stunts—from the tech titan. In December, the judge rejected the compensation deal again, handing $345 million to the shareholder attorneys who led the case. On this episode of our podcast, On The Merits, senior correspondent Jennifer Kay and reporter Roy Strom discuss the long-running courtroom drama, the lead trial lawyer who took aim at the pay package, and the judge who has repeatedly stood up to the world's richest man. Marshall Poe runs the New Books Network, a podcasting platform incorporating over 25,000 individual podcasts from thousands of podcasters and many millions of downloads. 2024, he acknowledges, was a bad year for podcasting because Apple changed their metrics so that the audience numbers for most podcasts fell precipitously overnight. And 2025, he suggests, probably isn'g going to be much better with winner-take-all podcasters like Joe Rogan hogging most of the audience and profits. How could the internet be made more democratic again so that podcasters on platforms like the New Book Network and entrepreneurs like Marshall Poe can make a living from their work? Poe isn't particularly hopeful, but suggests that a reform of Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act of 1996 might represent a beginning to restoring the leveling promise of the digital revolution. Marshall Tillbrook Poe is an American historian, writer, editor, and founder of the New Books Network, an online collection of podcast interviews with a wide range of nonfiction authors. He has taught Russian, European, Eurasian, and world history at various universities including Harvard, Columbia, University of Iowa, and, currently, the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Poe is the author or editor of a number of books for children and adults.Named as one of the "100 most connected men" by GQ magazine, Andrew Keen is amongst the world's best known broadcasters and commentators. In addition to presenting KEEN ON, he is the host of the long-running How To Fix Democracy show. He is also the author of four prescient books about digital technology: CULT OF THE AMATEUR, DIGITAL VERTIGO, THE INTERNET IS NOT THE ANSWER and HOW TO FIX THE FUTURE. Andrew lives in San Francisco, is married to Cassandra Knight, Google's VP of Litigation & Discovery, and has two grown children.Keen On is a reader-supported publication. Nearly half the world's population had elections this year, but for the first time in at least 20 years, progress for women's representation has slowed. In 60% of countries that voted this year, the number of women in parliament fell. Stephanie Hegarty, the BBC's population correspondent, discusses some of the countries where fewer women were elected and explains some of the factors behind the drop. She also looks at the regions — from Latin America to Africa — where female politicians made gains. We also hear from Puakena Boreham, a former member of parliament in the Pacific island of Tuvalu, and Indira Kempis, a former member of the Senate in Mexico. They discuss the importance of female representation and the challenges that female politicians face. Tom Sandoval is ending his already not so great year in a not so great way - let go from Vanderpump Rules along with all other OGs, the closing of Schwartz and Sandy's after a rocky run and more. We chat about the year of Sandoval, share updates on his relationship with model Victoria Lee Robinson and what we can expect from The Most Extras “most extra” front man as he prepares for a 2025 which will ultimately see him facing off, sans attorney, in court against Rachel Leviss. Despite many claims that she could be faking it for a storyline, Dorit rises to the RHOBH occasion, finds her voice, carries the season - so far and makes moves to prepare for the rest of the season and an upcoming year in which she is bound to experience many “firsts”. Teddi, who has been very judgmental of others' affairs, relationships and mess ups, seems to be the target of a lot of on line trolling, is being mentioned on RHOBH more than when she was on the show and has been sending mixed messages about Kyle, Edwin and the horse trainer which leaves many wondering wtf is really going on. Finally, Bethenny Frankel has a new message for Kelly Bensimon, flaunts her new man Tom even more than before and tries to balance the holidays, work, motherhood and romance as she closes out the year with a bang. Send us a textI'm on a break – but couldn't resist releasing something. Especially on today of all days, when lovers of democracy require audio sustenance whilst they wait in line to preserve America. For the first From the Vault episode, I've gone back to December of 2020, for an interview with Michael Marshall Smith. We talk about his 30 years of writing horror, fantasy, science fiction and assorted dark imaginings – captured in his career-spanning Best Of collection. Michael gives us all the good stuff about where ideas came from, why he writes the way he does, and all those details that literary voyeurs like us, want to know. It's also a trip back into the weirdness of the pandemic, and the dying days of the Trump presidency. Have your trauma shields up just in case. Support the show

Boeing has been in the news recently . . . Between a door plug blowing off mid-flight and sudden nose dives causing injuries, the company has been in very hot water. ‘Fast Company' contributing writer Clint Rainey joined us to explain what's really going on at Boeing and how it plans to address safety and quality concerns. For more on our Boeing coverage. Then, we spoke with Ghia founder and CEO Melanie Masarin and Nowadays cofounder and CEO Justin Tidwell to understand what's behind all the demand for non-alcoholic drinks. Companies like Athletic Brewing are experiencing enormous growth as consumers are embracing Sober October and Dry January and curbing their drinking in general.
