The Talk of Fame Podcast got to talk with Eric Paquette! “21 Ways My Life Is Great” out April 19th 2024, is the second single from YOUTHYEAR - the moniker of Eric Paquette, a Nashville based artist, songwriter, and producer. YOUTHYEAR has collaborated with alt giants Lit, Dashboard Confessional, Letdown, and Michigander along with Butch Walker, Desmond Child, Colin Brittain, members of No Doubt and more. YOUTHYEAR's debut single “Basement” was the first step outside of the writer/producer chair and into the artist spotlight. YOUTHYEAR & rock legend Carlo Colasacco (Shinedown, Sueco) co-wrote and co-produced the song which features a music video that tips its hat to Nirvana's “In Bloom'' and Weezer's “Buddy Holly'' videos and their satirical portrayal of the late ‘50s early ‘60s. Sonically the song also draws influence from both bands and the more melodic side of grunge and pop-rock of the ‘90s. Upbeat and all-things-alt-rock, it's bursting with bright melodies that sit next to melodic powerhouse classics like The All American Rejects and new acts like The Band Camino. Late ‘90s icon Ajay Popoff of the band Lit (My Own Worst Enemy) joined in on group vocals as well as makes a feature in the music video, co-directed by Nick Stafford (All Time Low, Charlotte Sands, Boys Like Girls) and YOUTHYEAR who also co-styled the video. Lyrically “21 Ways My Life Is Great” is a “so glad it's finally over” breakup song that captures the explosive joy of finally being free of a toxic relationship.``Guess my mom was right ‘about your type” is just one of the playful ways'' Eric is grateful to be onto better things. Bottom line, there are no regrets over the breakup in this song. We're Getting Candid with senses about how the band stuck together through the pandemic after releasing their first songs in early 2020, how they escape the idea of competition among female-fronted bands, and how social media has given power to back to fans to be the tastemakers of their generation. Senses are a pop rock band based in Los Angeles who originally met on Craigslist. Their first EP released in 2023 sees the band bringing influences from Evanescence and No Doubt into their rock sound. This year they've toured with Leah Kate and Boys Like Girls. Episode # 206 Rocker Mitch Malloy releases New Solo Album "The Last Song," his time in Van Halen and much more! MITCH MALLOY RETURNS WITH NEW SOLO ALBUM, ‘THE LAST SONG' FROM SING MARKET Mitch Malloy continues to rock the night away burning the midnight oil! After several years as the frontman for the iconic rock band Great White, Mitch returned to the studio writing and recording his new album, ‘THE LAST SONG.' The album will launch with an exclusive, limited release collector's edition vinyl through a partnership with SING. Pre-sales for the vinyl release will go on sale May 3, 2023. An international release will follow in June. Once again, Mitch is undertaking an album solely by himself from start to finish – song writing, producing, instruments, mixing and mastering. Mitch reveals, “For this record, I have really taken my time. In the past, I've usually been on deadlines. With this album, there was so much material in my head from a few years of not having a true creative outlet, so it was a lot to process. I'm thankful that I have been in a position to not rush my creativity. I've been tucked away in my Zen zone writing and recording... and amassing lots of new gear! Ha!” ‘THE LAST SONG' DELUXE PACKAGE will be released worldwide first on SING Market as a limited edition collectible 180 gram signed and numbered white vinyl record. This special vinyl bundle includes a signed CD, large poster, 8" X 10" photo, and more. All of this is attached to a limited, numbered and registered digital collectable bundle packed with behind-the-scenes videos, acoustic videos, a rare handwritten lyric sheet, and a Golden Ticket contest to win a private zoom concert where you hang with Mitch! After this very limited vinyl - digital collectable VIP bundle is gone - it's gone! Follow this link to purchase: https://market.singidea.com/market/asset/2abdeae1-ddbf-4d97-bd7a-8d345422ec0a/ Unboxing video here: https://vimeo.com/823080034?share=copy/ In addition to being an artist, Mitch is no stranger to the studio, and has worked with a variety of artists, labels, and brands from Taylor Swift, Boys Like Girls, Kenny Loggins, Craig Morgan, and Sony Music NY, to singer/songwriters Victoria Show, Gary Burr and Billy Falcon, and even voiceover work for Outdoor Channel, Field & Stream and many more. Mitch has even been the voice for Starburst candy! Mitch is also an award-winning songwriter, and has written with legendary songwriters like Jim Weatherly, Richard Lee, Mike Reid, Desmond Child, Dennis Morgan, Victoria Shaw and Gray Burr. He's been signed to publishing deals with Warner Chappell and Chrysalis Music, but later launched his own publishing company to control his copyrights. Mitch loves the craft of songwriting... telling a story and resonating with his audience. "Songs are so powerful... it's amazing just how much a song can impact a person's life," says Malloy. “Once again, life has delivered a lot of new material... from losing family members, to moving to the beach, to having a teenager. There's definitely no shortage of inspiration!” Mitch's tenure as an artist has spanned several decades beginning as a regular on the New York music scene in the 80s. Mitch soon garnered a major recording deal with RCA/BMG Worldwide, and achieved success on the pop and rock charts, landed a coveted spot on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and has toured globally. Mitch's voice has been highly sought after as a frontman for legendary acts as well as a guest vocalist on other artists' projects. In the mid-90s, Mitch was asked to replace Sammy Hagar as lead singer for Van Halen. But after spending time and recording with the band he declined. “When the band appeared on the MTV Music Awards with Dave [David Lee Roth], the fans expected his return – I expected his return. I felt as cool as the opportunity was, it just wasn't the right time,” said Malloy. Lastly, if you miss out on the SING Market bundles, ‘THE LAST SONG' CD (alone) will be available in the US on Malloy's label, Godsend Records, and internationally by Cargo Records based in the UK. Mitch looks forward to getting back out on the road and connecting with his fans in person. So, will this be the last song? According to Mitch, “Give it a listen, and you tell me!” “My hope with ‘The Last Song' record is that when listening you will experience some of the experiences and feelings and emotions I had while making it. If that happens then the world is a better place through music. And as always, I gave it everything I had. Crank it and enjoy!” https://www.youtube.com/@mitchmalloy3468/ https://www.facebook.com/MitchMalloyMusic/ https://www.mitchmalloy.com/ https://twitter.com/mitchmalloy/ https://www.instagram.com/malloymitch/ singmarket.com/ Subscribe to Pat's Soundbytes Unplugged Podcast, Pat's Soundbytes IGTV and Pat's Soundbytes Unplugged - Podcast Radio Show on YouTube for all the interviews and incredible content. On this episode of Headliners Greg is joined by Emma of CROOKED TEETH to talk about their new single DRINK BLEACH (Out 12 May).Crooked Teeth started in early 2017 simply as an outlet for founding member Tyson Evans with no grandeur vision in mind other than to make music as a form of catharsis. Since then, the moniker has evolved into a hard hitting, tried and true rock band with the addition of vocalist/guitarist Emma Oakley and drummer Jason Hayes. In 2022, the trio loaded themselves, gear and aspirations in a minivan and set out to rock faces and make new memories. At festivals such as Aftershock and Welcome To Rockville alongside personal favorites like My Chemical Romance and The Smashing Pumpkins as well as headline dates crisscrossing between both coasts, they earned new fans with their big smiles, potty mouth humor and undeniably catchy two to three minute rock anthems. In between touring the band released three singles with the intent of moving closer and closer to a debut full length which they are now hard at work on. The third and final single of 2022, "Promise", landed a ton of support from Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora and a whopping 165 spins in one month on Sirius XM's OCTANE channel. Crooked Teeth closed out the year with sold out opening slots alongside Boys Like Girls, Dead Poet Society and are ready to kick off 2023 with their brand hard hitting self proclaimed introvert anthem "Loser" featuring Cami Petyn dropping on January 20th. With a new album on the horizon, the band is headed full steam towards chasing down big dreams and creating a family out of new fans.CONNECT WITH CROOKED TEETHInstagram - TwitterSUPPORT THIS SHOWSUBSCRIBE TO YOUR LIFE THE MIXTAPE MAGAZINE
We had the pleasure of interviewing Knox Zoom video!Nashville based singer/songwriter Knox recently released his vibrant debut EP and announced his signing with Atlantic Records.EP track “NYC” also receives an official music video, which made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU and MTV Biggest Pop today. “Sneakers,” another EP track that was released last year, has proven a huge success already, racking up nearly 2M TikTok views overnight and 16M streams and counting.Growing up in Ohio, Knox's whole existence before he ever wrote a song was playing basketball, soundtracked by artists such as Fall Out Boy, Panic! At the Disco, All-American Rejects, Lil Wayne, Drake and Ed Sheeran. The summer before he started at Ohio University, Knox finally picked up a guitar. He learned everything in those few months, self-taught through YouTube videos. Knox began playing open mic nights and by his sophomore year, his musical ambitions were so all-consuming that he dropped out of school, moved in with his grandma and began saving up money to start his life in Nashville. He made the leap in January 2019.Knox used covid isolation time to work on his craft. His focus paid off: his songs caught the attention of John Harvie, who placed a few on his album, as well as Harvie's label. Knox signed a publishing deal in 2022 but was struck with the urge to record a collection of songs he had been working on. The final result was How to Lose a Girl in 7 Songs, Knox's debut EP. With his own songs ready, he now needed to build a fanbase. Knox began filming TikToks featuring his song “Sneakers, and one amassed nearly two million views overnight. “Sneakers” has since reached over 16 million streams.Knox has since started to get on the road, opening for the Band Camino and Boys Like Girls (an emo staple he grew up with). “I'm six states away from home and there's a thousand people in the audience that are singing the song that I wrote with my friends in my bedroom,” he recalls. “And that's when it gets you, when you see real people genuinely connecting to something that I made with my best friends. It's the most unreal feeling in the world.”We want to hear from you! Please email Hello@BringinitBackwards.com.www.BringinitBackwards.com#podcast #interview #bringinbackpod #Knox #Sneakers #HowToLoseAGirlin7Songs #NewMusic #ZoomListen & Subscribe to BiBhttps://www.bringinitbackwards.com/follow/ Follow our podcast on Instagram and Twitter! https://www.facebook.com/groups/bringinbackpod

On this episode of Roger The Wild Child Show: Nashville, we are joined by singer/songwriter Lizzie Cates and songwriter/publisher Nancy Deckant! Also, Callum Kerr of Fox's new hit series Monarch FOX talks with us about this weeks episode!LIZZIE CATESHaving grown up in what is known as the “biggest little city”, Reno, Nevada, Lizzie Cates knew there was a bigger calling for her, bigger than her small hometown could fulfill. At the early age of 5 it's completely normal for kids to have vast imaginations and dreams. However, for Cates the idea of crafting her own fairy tales, love stories, and nursery rhymes came naturally, comfortably, and effortlessly. By 13 years old Cates' personality began to form. Realizing her love for the arts, both in music and writing, she began challenging herself to write, sing, and play instruments. At 13 years old, she had taught herself how to play both guitar and piano while her writing skills began to blossom and her ability to sing matured. In 2017 Lizzie debuted her first major single, "Strangers" which received an ISSA Award. It was then she knew music was more than a hobby and it was a dream she must chase. Later that year, packing her entire life in two suitcases with her guitar in hand Lizzie jumped on a one way flight and moved across the United States to Nashville, Tennessee to focus on building her dream to be a full time artist. Shortly after arriving, she quickly got to work and began writing with notable writers in both country and pop music and started performing at iconic venues across Music City such as The Bluebird Cafe. Her 2020 single “I Like the Way” debuted at #1 on the iTunes country charts in the UK and still to this day is holding strong on their country radio stations. With recent success, Cates co-wrote the TikTok hit “How Do We Go” with Alexandra Kay who will be touring with Tim McGraw this summer.Currently Lizzie is working on lots of her own new music and plans to release 3 new major singles this year with music videos as well as 2 early 2000's cover songs. Cates is excited to give her fans a new wave of energy and sounds as she continues revealing more of her fascinating fairy tales throughout the year. Her newest cover, "Thunder" by Boys Like Girls is out now! Along with her brand new single "King of Hearts".NANCY DECKANTNancy Deckant is from Pittsburgh, PA and moved to Nashville in 2013. She's a songwriter, General Manager and Partner of Nashville Cool! publishing and the Founder/CEO of Discover Sooner a company that connects vetted unsigned songwriters with publishers. As a publisher and songplugger her clients have included Bernie Nelson "Daddy Never Was The Cadillac Kind", Joe Doyle who penned "In Pictures" by Jamie Johnson and Dave Pahanish “Without You” by Keith Urban.Over her 10 years as a publisher, she has developed a vast network of contacts. Nancy partners with music industry veteran Shar'n Clark to offer private songplugging services through Row Call, a group membership program. Cuts have included Charles Esten, Gary Allen, Blake Shelton, Reba, and sync placements on Jack Ryan, The Real World and more.In 2020 she launched Discover Sooner whose mission is to help the next generation of songwriters and artists expand their network of music professionals. Since launching the company has helped hundreds of songwriters connect directly with publishers, collaborate with signed and unsigned writers, and even helped an artist get a record/publishing label.

2006 was an absolute bonkers year for new music. On today's edition of Flashback Friday's, we're going to be highlighting a record that came out in 2007. 2007 was an interesting year for music. I rejoined a band after spending two years not playing music or being in a band. I was 23 years old, still trying to figure out who I was. I think this particular year was kind of like the year 1995. I think the music landscape was changing a bit, especially within the scene. I think people were getting a little tired of sad and dark music with similar themes. People were craving something a little more upbeat, positive, and catchy. This shift resulted in pop punk and pop rock really having a resurgence. Bands like All Time Low, Boys Like Girls, Mayday Parade, The Maine, and A Day to Remember burst onto the scene. Many with very popular debut records. But I want to highlight a lesser-known band and album that came out in 2007. This is a bit of sad and dark record, too. Perhaps that's why people missed it. Even the title is a bit of a downer. The album I'm highlighting today is "Hiding Inside the Horrible Weather", the second full length from My American Heart. Hiding Inside the Horrible Weather is My American Heart's second and final album, released on June 26, 2007, by Warcon Records. The album was produced by James Paul Wisner, and the artwork was designed by Don Clark of Invisible Creature.[1] Two music videos for the album's single "The Shake (Awful Feeling)" were released. This was a band finding their sound and hitting their stride with their first fully realized album. The first album "The Meaning in Makeup" is fun and a good rock and roll album, but Hiding is them solidifying who they were as a band. I love the eclectic nature of the record. There's pop rock, there's aggressive rock songs, there are speakeasy sultry blues-esque songs, and there are subdued tracks. This record takes you on a journey. The lyrics are introspective and somewhat dark. The singer must have been finding himself throughout the journey of writing this songs and you can hear catharsis and longing in his words.
What a treat this one is. It's our new friend from Jon Gabrus' replies, Val (@vmcapone612). Follow her, she's the best. Sigh and I learn what time is, Sigh reads (very poorly) Wilt Chamberlain's wikipedia page, and so much more. What. An. Ep!Support the show (https://cash.app/$roundingdown)
This week's guest is one of Jed's role models and someone who influenced the original spark for Jed's love of music. He was the lead guitarist for the band Boys Like Girls by the age of 17, and also knows nothing about lawn care: Paul DiGiovanniThese two kick off the episode by talking about their shared doctor, Dr. Web (aka the Internet), Jed's recent scare with sun poisoning in a Kroger parking lot, and Paul's lawn care business that he knows nothing about but has an epic name for. Then they move onto some BLG talk: making the band, tour stories, and the touchy topic of "WHAT HAPPENED TO BLG?!"Next, Jed shares a redneck story from his childhood, Paul talks about his motorcycle days, and then they both share their dream car (which happens to be the same). Finally, they close out the episode talking about some of Paul's favorite moments as a touring musician, how he got into producing music, and he drops the hook that there might be some new BLG music on the horizon…-----FOLLOW JEDInstagramSpotifyApple MusicYouTubeFOLLOW THE PODInstagramTikTokYouTube-----Produced by:Alex Lagos / Lagos CreativeTheme by:Jed WyattJamie Collazo

Since we're in between seasons/full discographies, we decided to pick a one-off album that we won't be covering later in this special bonus episode. Bonus Episode #1 picked by our very own co-host Kevin Nadolski covers The Night Game's (Martin Johnson, formerly of Boys Like Girls) 2018 debut record. Mark, Kevin, Alex, and Chris dissect this album and share our favorites and not-so favorites from this fantastic debut 80s-infused sythnpop album from 2018. We'll have more bonus episodes to come in the future but enjoy this one-off episode before we start the Metallica full discography next week!P.S. Alex had mentioned that The Night Game was signed to Warner Bros. records? He actually meant to say Interscope.
If you've ever gone to a live concert, I'm sure you've noticed not just the music but the amazing lighting that really gives you the full concert experience. But who is behind designing this lighting? Today, I'm getting the answers from Jeff Maker, who has been working as a touring lighting designer for concerts the past 14 years and has worked with some BIG groups like Good Charlotte, All Time Low, Dropkick Murphys, Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Yellowcard, Boys Like Girls, and Click Five. He's been nominated for one of the top honors in the touring industry, the “Lighting Designer of the Year” at the Parnelli Awards. In this episode, we chat about how he started his career in lighting design, what it's like to be doing lights live for concerts for huge bands like Good Charlotte, and advice he has for other aspiring lighting designers. There are few feelings more visceral to a teenager than the desire to pack a a 1981 Honda Civic full of Doritos Cool Ranch, Mountain Dew, and trail mix and hit the road with your best friends, not knowing where you’re going but leaving this god forsaken town in your rear view mirror. The Great Escape by Boys Like Girls captures that feeling almost perfectly, but so many people were afraid to absolutely admit they LOVED this song. They loved it so much that the ringtone, the RINGTONE was certified gold (500,000 sold) by RIAA. The guys tell tales of their high school English teacher unironically jamming to this band in 2008, Big Dentist unleashing a global conspiracy to make punk rock kids brush their teeth after a long night of partying, how much spaghetti is too much spaghetti, and why this music video feels more like a “Just Okay Escape”. Listen to a unique BioReset Podcast episode, as we share a vulnerable and honest discussion around the current state of COVID. Martin says, “I'm far less the worried about the disease and far more worried about society's reaction to the disease”."Volatility is not necessarily a bad thing. There is a lot of volatility now, and yet at any moment in your life, you'll find a bridge over troubled waters," says Dr. Cook.Music truly bongs us together, and this episode is an example of that. It's honest. It's raw. It's inspiring.

There are two types of people. Those who love pop punk and everything that comes along with it and those who are wrong. A genre full of fun filled memories, growth and development relatability and albums which stand the test of time and cement themselves as some of the best soundtracks to your life. That last statement can be said for the band our next guest fronts who are about to embark on an Anniversary Tour of Australia where they'll not only play that debut album in full, but also feature new tracks from their forthcoming release. **We The Kings** are the band and **Travis** **Clark** is the legend joining us for Episode #26 of **_Wall of Sound: Up Against The Wall_**. Even though their debut self-titled album has become such an iconic legacy for the group of musicians, Travis still can't come to terms with the fact fans compare it to the workings of other bands such as **blink-182, Jimmy Eat World** and **Coldplay**. He also delves into his newfound world of fatherhood and reveals that no matter how much of a big time famous musicians he is portrayed to be, he's immediately brought back down to earth when he has to change nappies and do Daddy duties when he's not on tour. Speaking of pop punk, there's plenty of throwbacks to the _2000_'s era of that genre with tracks from **New Found Glory, Good Charlotte, Cobra Starship, Boys Like Girls, Paramore, Hey Monday, The Maine** and **Panic! @ The Disco** + another contribution for our new segment '**_Two Songs That Changed Me_**' featuring a pop punk loving photographer with a keen ear for great music. #WoSUATW #PopPunk #Podcast #MusicPodcast #WeTheKings #TravisClark #CheckYesJuliet #AllTimeLow #HeyMonday #TheMaine #CobraStarship #Makeout #blink182 #NewFoundGlory #PanicAtTheDisco #Paramore #TonightAlive #FallOutBoy #BoysLikeGirls #WallOfSoundAU

On Episode 026, I sit down with Sam Hollander, an Emmy-nominated producer/songwriter who was one of the true architects of the late '00s emo/pop-punk scene. Boys Like Girls' "The Great Escape"? Yeah, that's Sam. Cobra Starship's "Snakes on a Plane (Bring It)"? Also Sam. Along with his longtime writing partner, Dave Katz (the two dubbed themselves S*A*M and Sluggo), Hollander wrote songs with acts Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is..., Metro Station, All Time Low, Mayday Parade and many more. These days, he dabbles in different things; more recently, he's penned songs for One Direction ("Rock Me"), Katy Perry ("If You Can Afford Me"), Daughtry ("Waiting For Superman") and Train ("This'll Be My Year"). I caught up with Sam to chronicle his role in the scene's rise, writing with the Baha Men and why his song for One Direction was one of the best – and worst – things to happen to him as a songwriter. Due to some stupid technical issues Drew wasn't able to join us for our recording and so you'll have to deal with just Thomas and Jason on this week's episode. This week we look at a variety of topics: Follow-up from last week and looking at a few questions and comments we saw. Things like do we love music based on merit or past love for an artist? Does all music from our formative years hold up or does it get more of a critical "pass" as we get older? Then we talk a little about Thomas' prediction in last week's episode that Tim had left Transit -- only to see it come true just hours after releasing the podcast. From there we dive into one of our favorite topics: growth of a band's career and longevity. Why do similar bands see different outcomes from similar situations? How did All Time Low survive 'Dirty Work' when Boys Like Girls never really recovered? Does social media savvy give some bands the upper hand in this regard? We finish the conversation with a discussion about live shows and what we are looking for from a live performance these days. Yes, Blink-182 'suck' live and don't sound like their albums -- is that really a bad thing though? We offer a few different opinions on the matter.
