In this introduction show, host Brian Trippe briefly talks about his experience as an Extreme Adventure Athlete and what the UltraAF podcast is all about.
Brian Trippe was going through the tragedy of divorce, and it put him in a very dark place. Perhaps you can relate. When it happened, Brian had a decision to make. He could turn to indulgences to try to numb the pain (drinking, sitting at home alone, stress eating, drugs) but he chose a different route….After seventeen years of a sedentary lifestyle, he made a decision to go on a walk. Three years later, Brian is an Ironman Triathlon athlete! And he's here to share about how to make decisions that will lead you towards the positive and away from the negative so you can benefit from good health, mental strength, aligned priorities, and an overall ability to navigate whatever comes your way. In this packed interview, Brian covers: Why and how to choose good habits in your life each day How achieving a massive goal always starts with smaller waypoints (ie, if you are sedentary, your first goal can be to walk mile, and as you progress, so will your goals) The all-encompassing positive effects working out can have on your attitude, confidence, and more That if you know you need to do something, but it's super out of your comfort zone, that's the very thing that needs your attention If you feel stuck in the grip of tragedy or the pull of negative influences in your life, don't go anywhere. Brian's insight has something to offer anyone who is struggling.

Welcome back to the Cashflow 2 Freedom everybody! On today's episode I have the pleasure of sitting down with real estate investor Brian Trippe. We focus in heavily on the concept and critical importance of building your network. Your network is everything - deal flow, financing, investors all come from your network. This solidifies the common theme we've talked about several times on the Cashflow 2 Freedom podcast, and that is that success cannot and does not happen on an island. You absolutely have to build and maintain these relationships. Everything is built on people, and we have to be able to attract the right people for your network with common core values? So how do you do this? What's the key? It's a great question and one that we answer in several ways in today's podcast. These fundamentals will either make or break you, no matter what direction you choose for your life or your goals. We'll cover these fundamentals in depth and how you can set yourself and your endeavors up for success. We also talk about the technical aspects of real estate. Brian shares what he believes will happen in the real estate market and in markets across the world in the near future with the elections coming up. Brian also shares how he is preparing for those potential events. Brain also shares his advice for those who are just starting or looking to start investing in real estate. Where should you look? What should you look for? Who should you talk to? Brian covers all of these topics and more. Be sure to check out REI Live, an online community that helps to connect like minded real estate professionals. https://rei.live/ Thanks for listening everybody, AJ

Brian Trippe is the founder of REI LIVE--a real estate education platform created to develop and train new investors to go out and do deals immediately--and host of the REI Live podcast. Brian is also a speaker, an author and, of course, a seasoned real estate investor! In this episode, Jeff interviews Brian in an engaging conversation about how real estate is LIVE and LOCAL, covering topics from how relationships are like rental properties, to networking and beyond.
Why is the divorce rate so high among couples working together? How do you protect your marriage and business? In this episode of Both on Board we turn things upside down—we get interviewed by Brian Trippe! We cover personal development and awareness, communication, leading by example, and touch on our core beliefs behind co-creating a life and a business that works for you. Brian Trippe graduated from the University of Alabama with a Bachelor’s in Journalism and English, and a Masters in Education. He began his career in real estate in 2012 and has completed over 500 real estate transactions since. He owns a wholesale company, a brokerage, and a coaching business and has a portfolio of rental properties. On top of it all, he created and hosts the REI Live podcast—check it out! Highlights From Our Conversation [0:50] We are interviewed by Brian Trippe! [3:00] We talk about our beginnings [7:00] How do you get both people on board? [11:25] Self-Discovery needs to happen first [16:45] Don’t get tripped up trying to change the other person [20:00] A woman's perspective in a man’s world [24:25] Goals for the podcast and beyond [29:10] Resources available Take responsibility for how you show up in your relationship Brian asks a question that we get asked often: How do you get both people on board? When a couple is on two different wavelengths, how do you sync up? Our #1 answer will always be to start with personal development. You have the responsibility to develop an awareness of who you are, what you want, and what you want to be, right? So take ownership of your actions every step of the way. You—and only you—hold complete responsibility for how you act and react. Perhaps something has been bothering you. Or you’re having a discussion with your spouse that has taken a turn for the worst. Take a step back! Why are you reacting the way you are? Is something deeper going on that’s contributing to the argument? Take time to reflect so you can respond in a healthier way that is not divisive. Define and get clarity on what you are about together After you’ve taken steps towards self-discovery and have a clearer picture of who you are and what you want for your future, take time to dive into who you are together. On one of our first episodes, “How You Can Design Your Life Vision With The Perfect Day Exercise”, we give you one of our favorite tools to start laying the framework for your future together. Do the exercise separately, and then come together and compare and see where your dreams overlap. Are you aligned with your core beliefs? Do you have shared goals? Sometimes, your beliefs and values don’t necessarily line up. But you can’t force your significant other to be something they’re not. We truly believe as you continue to focus on personal growth and begin to change that your spouse will see that change and be intrigued—and begin to realize they too want what you’re seeking after. Allow your spouse to speak into your life You need to lead by example but also be open to learning from your spouse. One example that we like to use is the fact that I've never been a gym person. Ray will go consistently many times a week, but would never force me to go. Instead, he set the example and I saw results. I’ve never liked the gym, but recently decided I’d give it a shot—now I’m loving it! I noticed what Ray was doing and decided I’d try it for myself. The point is, he never tried to change me. He never tried to force me into a mold that worked for him. Don’t get tripped up in trying to change the other person! Recognize that you each have unique skills, abilities, and dreams and that you were created to complement each other. Not be each other. Keep listening as we talk about our strengths and weaknesses and how we’ve learned to complement each other and embrace who we are. We also talk about a woman’s perspective in what is traditionally a man’s world—you don’t want to miss it! Future goals for our podcast—and beyond We have so many goals and dreams and places we want to take this podcast. We’d love to continue hosting MasterMind groups, run seminars, and host retreats. One of the loftier yet worthy goals we have is to help couples realize that divorce is not the answer. We would love to eradicate divorce by helping people strengthen their marriages, becoming what they were meant to be individually and as a couple building a life together. Ultimately, your life can be anything you desire it to be—it just depends on how hard you’re willing to work for it. You have much more potential when you both show up in your marriage and your business. The power of two people working in alignment is extraordinary! So this is your call to action. While everyone knows networking is important, few people actually know how to do it. How can you approach networking effectively? Why is it so important to know what your unique value is? On this episode, real estate entrepreneur and author, Brian Trippe, shares how he started networking effectively and the difference it’s made in his business. If you want more money, deals, and income, you need to learn how to network. -Chris Naugle Three Things We Learned Stick with old-school principles We’ve all heard sayings about giving something to get something. The reason these phrases have stood the test of time is because they’re still true to this day. When networking, lead with value. Go into interactions with the intention to give value of some kind. Your actions will be rewarded if you use this approach without expecting anything in return. Change your mindset Negativity is the main thing holding most of us back. Change your mindset and make yourself believe you have what it takes to be successful. Until you change your mindset, you won’t be able to progress. Get the “old guard” on board When you’re starting out in a new industry, it’s a good idea to approach those who have been successful in the business for a while. Brian Trippe is back with a second guest appearance on the Flip Empire Show! Brian has made excellent strides in his career and he all credits it down to networking and being a giver. On today’s episode, Brian shares his tips on how to network the right way, how to provide enormous value and ways you can become a better people connector too! Alex reflects on how being good at connecting people to other people has actually really helped his business. It’s cliche, but it’s true. Your network is your net worth. What if you went out and started a meetup group? What would happen? Brian shares an example of how easy it is to network in our digital world. How can someone position themselves as an authority if they’re shy or don’t know anybody? By the way, you’re going to mess up. Just embrace it. The only way you’re going to get better is by doing it. If you want to do more volume, then you have to start a group or even a podcast. Brian would love to give you a free book! Just DM him on Instagram (see below)! Markets with cashflow are harder to come by nowadays. How do you deal with cashflow and appreciation markets as an investor? If you’re new to the investing game what should you do to start generating leads? Which people will survive the next market correction? On this episode, Brian Trippe shares some of his high-value coaching for investors. Don’t be leveraged as high as you can possibly be. Stay a little liquid in case the worst happens. - Brian Trippe Takeaways If you don’t like volatility, you would prefer a cashflow market. If everyone is buying right now, why are you buying? Do what other people aren’t. Be consistent in whatever you choose. Don’t dabble. At the start of the show, we talked about cashflow markets and appreciation markets, along with the intricacies of working with B-class markets. Next, we talked about how to spend on marketing and lead generation, as well as why it’s so important to be consistent. Towards the end, we talked about who will survive the market correction. We also discussed: Why direct mail is a great lead generation tool The use of banding signs Why it’s necessary to stay liquid There’s cashflow and there’s appreciation. You have to choose which approach works best for you and creates long-term wealth. The cashflow approach is more conservative and stable, while the appreciation approach is more volatile. Whichever route you take, you have to be hungry, talk to people, and knock on doors. When the market correction inevitably happens, you want to be liquid so you can thrive. Brian Trippe is based out of Birmingham, Alabama. When Brian was 28 years old, he was still living in his dad's basement and was lazy! All he did was play video games, but shortly after, he got married, and knew he had to get a ‘real' job. Brian stumbled into real estate, but he worked his butt off, and on his first deal he earned $10,000 net. Since then, he's been hooked! If you want to take real estate seriously, you have to get off that couch! Key Takeaways: How did Brian end up getting into real estate? Brian took a very, very expensive real estate course and ended up making $10,000 on his first deal. What advice would Brian have for those who are struggling to take action? Book smarts is a plus, but you learn the most from actually taking action. Brian spends a lot of money on real estate education, BUT he takes that info into practice. When you go into real estate investing, really focus on your end-game. You want to generate enough capital so you can go out and purchase your own assets. Brian talks about his real estate portfolio. He's currently doing $10,000 net on his properties. Brian is closing 2-3 deals a month right now. What does his office look like? Surround yourself with great people you can trust. It'll help you with a ton of headaches. How does Brian get ‘free' lists? What advice would Brian give his 20-year-old self? So many people know the kind of work they have to put in, but they're just not willing to do it. People do not change. The only way they do, though, is to go through tragedy or an awakening of some sort. Make today the day where you're going to change, where you're going to put in the work. Real estate investing became the answer. Brian hails from Birmingham, Alabama, and he is intent on remaining in that area. Having bought and sold over 100 properties, Brian understands the Birmingham market as well as anyone. Alex and I learn Brian’s story as we interview him in this episode. He started in the business in 2012, and has been involved in both traditional real estate and real estate investing. One of his first projects was a 6-unit, which he looked to for passive income. After realizing it was taking too much time and cash, he turned to wholesaling. He built up a wholesaling business, then launched his own brokerage. Once those two businesses were running without his involvement, he turned to developing a local REIA, which he calls, “ALAREIA.” Due to his love of teaching, Brian’s passion is to create a local network for investors, supplying teaching materials and bringing in keynote speakers for educational purposes. Brian’s core business belief is to give, give, give. This is evident by what can be seen (and heard) on his Facebook page, the ALAREIA venue, as well as his podcasts. Brian Trippe is definitely one to watch (and learn from) as he continues to build his business and his following.
