We are joined by Kathrin Stark, a professor at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh. Kathrin works on program verification with proof assistants, so her focus is not exactly on Haskell, but on topics dear to Haskellers' hearts such as interactive theorem provers, writing correct programs, and the activities needed to produce them. We discuss many aspects of proofs and specifications, and the languages involved in the process, as well as verifying and producing provably correct neural networks.

Es gibt Menschen, die kennst Du schon länger über LinkedIn, aber irgendwie klappt es mit einem Treffen erst Jahre später. Diese für mich nicht ganz neue Erkenntnis trifft im Speziellen auf Kathrin Wirth-Ueberschär zu. Auf dem JOI-Design-Übergabe-Event, wo Corinna Kretschmar-Joehnk und Peter Joehnk ihre Nachfolger vorstellten, begann es also mit uns. Und das werde ich nie vergessen, weil 1. sonst immer ich die Leute so anquatsche und 2. daraus ein regelmäßiger Austausch entstanden ist, den ich nicht missen möchte. Wenn man sich dann noch anschaut, wie Kathrins Karriere in die Hotellerie mündete, ist das schon einen Podcast wert (Ihr werdet es auch so sehen - da bin ich sicher!). Wir klären also auf, wie ... ihre HSV-Liebe entstand ... sie wegen ihrer Hockey-Liebe ein Studium begann ... sich als junge Frau gleich nach der Wende in den (Süd)Westen aufmachte, um dort nicht nur einen völlig neuen Kulturkreis, sondern auch die Hotellerie kennen-, nein, liebenzulernen ... wie sich nach spannenden Stationen in Düsseldorf, Berlin und Stolpe Hamburg als ihre Stadtliebe durchsetze ... Kathrin vier Pre-Openings nacheinander absolvierte (darunter das damals höchstumstrittene Mövenpick Sternschanze. Da gibt es Geschichte, meine Güte!) ... sich die einmalige Chance bot, das legendäre Reichshofhotel leiten zu dürfen und Kathrin dort noch lange nicht fertig ist... Dies wird garniert mit persönlichen Einblicken, viel Lachen und einer hohen, gegenseitigen Sympathie. Es ist also alles wie immer oder? Gutes Hören bei der Folge Nr. 110 aus dem Hotel, das fast zeitgleich mit dem gegenüberliegenden Hauptbahnhof erbaut wurde...

They chatted about how the body remembers in multiple ways and how not getting what we need in childhood impacts multiple systems in our bodies (not just the nervous system). When we are on a healing journey the expression of sadness and grieving are an important part of this journey. However, it may be that we are blocked from crying by our defences. We dived into this and talked about food, body shape, body psychotherapy, the the function of comfort eating, shame and much more.
