Wiosna 2022 roku „zakwitła” w TEATRZE DRAMATYCZNYM im. ADAMA MULARCZYKA w Filadelfii sztuką MAYDAY. Premiera odbyła się 21 maja, a trzy kolejne przedstawienia przypadły na 22 maja oraz 4-5 czerwca. Sztuki wystawiane są w Polskim Domu w Filadelfii. Jest to 11 produkcja w ciągu 26 letniej historii Teatru Dramatycznego w Philadelphii, czyli sztuki są wystawiane mniej więcej co 2 lata. Przygotowanie sztuki Mayday trwało prawie 3,5 roku z uwagi na pandemie i związane z nią obostrzenia i lockdown.Sztuka MAYDAY została napisana przez Ray'a Cooney'a w Anglii, w latach osiemdziesiątych i nosiła wtedy tytuł „Run for your wife”, niejako parafrazując powiedzenie „Run for your life”. Premiera odbyła się w 1983 roku w Londynie w West End Theatre. Do Polski sztuka trafiła 1992 roku i była wystawiona przez Teatr Kwadrat w Warszawie. W Polsce zmieniono tytuł sztuki na Mayday – taki międzynarodowy, żeglarski okrzyk wołania o pomoc, tak jak SOS, Ratunku, Mayday, mayday... lub mówiąc amerykańskim żargonem „Huston mamy problem”.Farsa Raya Cooneya przedstawia historię londyńskiego taksówkarza – bigamisty, któremu przez lata udaje się bezkolizyjnie lawirować między dwiema kochającymi go żonami. W wyniku wypadku jego tajemnica wychodzi na jaw, wywołując lawinę komplikacji.Pewnym novum jest dodana do sztuki na sam koniec scena finałowa pod tytułem „Sąd”. Jest to śpiewno-muzyczny dodatek, który sam w sobie nie jest częścią Mayday, ale uznano, że bardzo pasuje do tego przedstawienia, gdyż jak mówił na wstępie Grzegorz Górski „jesteśmy przyzwyczajeni, że gościmy Państwa muzyką i piosenkami (…) i chcieliśmy, aby opuszczali państwo nasz Teatr z pieśnią na ustach".W roli głównego bohatera, taksówkarza Johna Smitha, wystąpił Paweł Przybycień. Jego pierwszą żonę Mary zagrała Anna Żabińska, a drugą żonę Barbarę – Anna Radoń. Wojciech Galadyk zagrał Stanleya Gardnera, przyjaciela Johna. Stefan Skorczyński wystąpił jako Troughton – inspektor policji na Wimbledon, a Marcin Niemiec jako Porterhouse – inspektor policji na Stretham. Hubert Kojer zagrał Bobbiego, sąsiada Johna Smitha, z kolei Margot Hollender – reporterkę gazety „The Standard”.W śpiewanej scenie Sądu wystąpili: Marcin Niemiec jako woźny, Grzegorz Górski jako Sędzia 1, Stefan Skorczyński – Sędzia 2, Wojciech Galadyk – adwokat oskarżonego, Hubert Kojer – prokurator, Paweł Przybycień – oskarżony, Anna Radoń i Anna Żabińska – oskarżycielki, a Margot Hollender była protokolantką.Zespół obecnie liczy około 20 osób. Nikt z grających na scenie aktorów nie jest aktorem zawodowym – na co dzień zajmują się zawodowo bankowością, medycyną, są wśród nich inżynierowie, nauczyciele, technicy. Szlify aktorskie zdobyli na tej scenie, pod kierunkiem specjalistów. Teatr jest ich pasją i jemu poświęcają swój wolny czas.Pani Helena Morawska – White jest jedyną osobą zawodowo zajmującą się teatrem, grała m.in. na deskach Teatru „Syrena” i "Buffo". Jest Reżyserem spektaklu, a rolę jej asystentki pełni Beata Marciniak – stagemanager. Opiekunem Zespołu jest żona twórcy Teatru Zofia Wróblewska – Mularczyk.Jak podkreślała Beata Marciniak – Teatr rozważa na jesieni tego roku ruszyć w trasę i być może na niej znajdzie się również Nowy Jork lub Long Island.
