Připustil jsem si, že je v pohodě udělat chybu a nebýt OK,“ říká fleretista Alexander Choupenitch, který v současnosti prožívá asi nejúspěšnější sezónu svého života. Spoustě lidí přitom utkvělo v paměti, že se mu naposledy nepodařilo obhájit olympijskou medaili v Paříži. Podle sportovce jde ale jen o výseč jeho kariéry a negativně to rozhodně nevnímá. „Je náročné dostat se tam jako jednotlivec z Evropy, jsou na ni jen dvě místa,“ přibližuje to, jak je samotná kvalifikace na olympijské hry velkým úspěchem. Šermíř popisuje, že mnohem důležitější než výhry se pro něj stal samotný proces, kdy se i z neúspěchů může něco naučit. Těžko ale chápe ty, kteří svou práci nedělají na sto procent a bez vidiny, že v ní chtějí být nejlepší. Co je pro fleretisty ale trochu nevýhodou, je podle něj fakt, jak podfinancovaný šerm v Česku je. I proto musel Choupenitch obětovat víc než v jiných zemích, kde není šerm takovou popelkou mezi sporty. „Mám tabulkový plat, je to průměrný český plat a rozhodně není takový, jaký mají třeba fotbalisté nebo hokejisti,“ vysvětluje a dodává, že záleží i na tom, jak je člověk „šikovný“ v jednání s partnery. Sportovci by si, pokud jde o komerční spolupráce, měli sami sebe víc vážit a nekazit trh například nabízením barteru. On sám prý dostává hodně nabídek, se kterými není spokojený, a žertuje, že poslední cenově férová nabídka byla ta, když mu někdo sliboval 600 eur za zaslání zpocených ponožek. V rozhovoru Choupenitch také popisuje, jak se musel tajně scházet se svým současným trenérem jako milenec s milenkou, ale i jak silná mentální hra vůbec šerm je. „Co není zakázáno, je povoleno. Člověk dělá všechno, aby našel soustředění a rozhodil ho tomu naproti,“ prozrazuje taktiku fleretistů Choupenitch. Jak vnímá debatu o zákazu účasti ruských a běloruských sportovců na sportovních utkáních? V čem je šerm neférový a proč má pocit, že dnešní mladí sportovci nejsou tolik zapálení? Pono Brewing of Portland Oregon was conceived as a lifestyle as much if not more than a beer brand. The beers were lively, fun, inventive and everything a craft brewery should be.  Larry Clouser and his partners grew from humble beginnings as a contract brewery to statewide distribution to opening a brewpub/restaurant before finally closing the doors in 2023.  Larry's story covers contract brewing in a market that wasn't sure how it felt about it. And partners that struggled to decide how they felt about it. We'll touch on partnerships in general and the financial pitfalls in particular. Hell, we'll even get on Kool-aid beers before we're done talking today.  When Pono Brewing finally poured it's last beer, Larry faced head-on the same anxiety and depression many of of did.  But with the help of friends and family, he overcame the hardships, rose back up and is now on the path to creating a less stressful life for his family.
